Nigel; I flew these as an Army Aviator, and I am a modeler as well. Originally, these were painted with Fed Spec 24086, in Nam and afterwards, FS 34087. In the 70's, the Army painted them with the dark anti infra red paint (Fed Spec unknown to me.) By the time the Army sold them to Evergreen, most had the latest paint, but some were still 34087. I used Army touch up spray paint to paint my models, much to the annoyance of my fellow IPMS members who were fond of fault finding at the various model shows I attended....I always brought a rattle can or two with me!

Nigel, your videos are never uninteresting or boring. Unfortunately, I don't have all the kits you present in your videos, but that's not why I find them boring. You learn a lot and I have already looked for mistakes in my current models, which you often describe in your videos. Maybe it would be more boring if I built exactly the same models. Many greetings from far away Mexico. And thank you very much for your videos.

Brilliant work Nigel. Nothing upsets me more than a wonky model. Great tips and tricks of how you build, of all the straight out of the box builds yours will be the straightest.

Superb! Master-class in seeking perfection and first-rate teaching methods!! Should be recommended viewing for how to explain essentially simple things which have hidden obstacles needing workaround procedures. Compelling viewing...doesn't matter if you never expect to build this magnificent heavy-lifter - the processes are great examples of how to approach ANY model!!

Nige, One of the best detail videos I've seen on RUclips. I don't know about other viewers, but I found it all incredibly useful. If I am able to get one of these kits, I will probably be going back and rewatching the whole series from Episode 1 as a guide to what I should be looking out for. Excellent job!

I like to thank you on a master class, it was very informative, I do not have the model yet it is on my wish list, look forward to part 5, as you said at the start it my not be for all, but these are the videos I enjoy as it has warts and all and shows the pit falls. I do enjoy the way you explain the issues and how you deal with the issues, keep it up😎👍

Nige, At about 12:28 in the video, you used quick setting, instead of the regular extra thin when securing the panels you had just installed to the main landing gear bulkhead piece. I was wondering why the quick setting. Was it just to make sure those two joints were quickly tacked, or was there some other reason that I missed? Thanks.

Hi Nigel sorry for the predicament I put you under, I definitely have my reservations on Kits world as well, I’m making the Italeri 1/48 F-35B for a group build for 80th anniversary of the Dambusters and all the aircraft from 1943 to present day, so I have the decals from Kits World they do look not to scale as the kit decals? Enough of my rant going to watch part 4 of the Sky crane build warts and all. 😊

    Hi Nigel.
I have seen you use TET with a paint brush. How do you clean up the brush afterwards, or is it new brush each time?
Enjoying your build, and learning a lot before tackling mine. Although I'm waiting for Aftermarket cockpit, etc.
    Cheers
