Why can't they just boost other activities to compete with cayo. The only reason players don't play other businesses and game modes is because they don't pay enough. Auto shop contracts on 2x or 3x money are things that are worth while as an example. These changes ruin player experience
it’s true, even though criminal enterprises fixed some things i find a lot of things are still lacking. hangars being the greatest change imo land missions and lands sells solo friendly but this money maker can make be way faster with a crew! cept not everyone got a crew and some would rather do their own thing vs help someone. mc missions sale missions are still garbage, bunker sales are still garbage (cept the phantom wedge) contact missions pay like garbage, a lot of content doesn’t incentive players to try new things to get money the meta way.
It ain’t that easy I’m afraid. They did this solely because they needed more incentives for people to purchase shark cards. Reducing the payouts as well as reducing the prices of everything would be counter productive to their end goal.

It's only justified if you look at it from the wrong angle, if rockstar would improve payouts on other heists and make them single player that would solve the problem without angering the player base. And co-op wouldn't be a problem if rockstar hadn't fueled a toxic environment in online lobbies making co-op play nearly impossible. Definitely not justifiable any way you look at it.
It would be impossible to make the other heists singleplayer without completely reworking them from the ground up, asking for that is completely unrealistic
@@shadow-squid4872 also voicelines. an example of this would be mrs rackman in doomsday scenario saying “split into 2 teams and clear out a tunnel each”. obviously if it were to be solo, this voiceline wouldn’t work and not make sense.
Yeah I made 200-300 million from it in total. Honestly I don’t really care much about this game anymore. GTA6 is right around the corner, I just occasionally hop on now to earn a few hundred thousand, then leave lol.
The problem wasn't cayo paying too much, it was everything else not paying enough. Not to mention i don't want to race or play death matches with randoms because everyone sucks. That leaves me doing cayo, which i haven't really been doing for a couple years, selling free mode goods, or fighting in free mode
I agree with the fact that most of the other content in the game is heavily ignored by the community but they need to drastically improve that content if they want players them. Like here is a few ideas: - Special Cargo: add a duffle bag so we can pick up all three crates rather than go back and forth to the warehouse. - Biker businesses: remove the post op van mission and the garbage truck one, and replace them with something simpler and doesn’t make it a pain in the ass to complete. - Gunrunning: simply increase the sell timer to 30mins like any other business. - The OG Heists: needs a full rework that allows 2-4 players just like the other heists and different replay-able factors like the casino heist to make them feel fresh and different to play each time. - Contact missions and storyline missions: payouts need to be increased and some massive incentive for players to play them over and over again. Like as a reward for playing though ULP missions would reward a one time use of double money on any of the Doomsday finales. First/Last dose missions would reward the same thing but for the Acid Lab. It gets players to play these missions again rather than the typical one time play-though. - Arena War: needs a massive money boost to all modes to compensate for how much it costs to buy and mod a Arena War Vehicle. Plus a tournament system for players and crews that can reward something like $5,000,000 if someone or a crew wins first place. Though with this games modders…. probably not good. But still better than what it currently is. They need to be thinking of stuff like this for updates rather than keep adding bland and boring content like whatever Mercenaries was.
TBH, the 2 1/2 hour solo cooldown already has caused me to do Cayo only once per day much of the time, since I don't have a big window of free time to play video games most days.
The fact that the OG heist need 4 people to do is why i dont play them, You cant even do the setups w/o 4 people. The casino heist i get to play about 1 time a month when a friends or two can play at the same time and me... but at least i can do the setups by myself.
Sad that solo players have to suffer. When I do have time to play, most if not all of my friend's are offline and I have a full friend's list....randoms are another story. This is just sad.
That's what they shouldve been doing from the start of the first nerf I was even saying that last yr aswell since even some of the og heist paid Terriblyike the Fleeca heist which only gives u 72-144, that is jack sh💩t is GTA's economy especially 10 yrs later that's not gonna buy you anything worth buying anymore

i know that this an old video now but i just have to say, your logic of "it makes sense because it makes you play other game modes" is exactly what they want you to think and is completely wrong, because if they wanted me to play other game modes they would make those ones pay more, not make my favourite one pay less. all this nerf did for me was make me stop playing the game entirely, until this nerf i was still playing a few hours every week and making use of discounts but when this nerf hit i completely stopped playing for the entire 2/3 months until coming back now to take a look at the new DLC. all this nerf was, was trying to make it impossible to earn money fast and force you to buy shark cards just like the old days before the economy accelerated. i have nearly 5000 hours in gta v and i still didn't own everything i wanted, i had about 50 mil worth of stuff i still wanted to buy when i quit and that's with nearly 900 mil earned in my career on the game, even for long term players the grind is still necessary and now it doesn't even exist.
Changes like this don’t make me want to try other modes. It just makes me want to play other games. Since Diamond Casino Heist & Cayo Perico are the only 2 activities I enjoy doing these days, I might as well switch to Payday. A game series that is focused specifically on heists.

cayo perico was never the only money making method people used, the reason it was so overused is because it was the only solo heist in the game. the diamond casino pays more it just isn't solo and passive businesses also make you a huge amount of money and everyone used them. THE CAYO HEIST WAS BALANCED!
Agree casino heist pays more , but takes also more time. After the the recent changes to perico both perico and casino heist pay about the same amount ( on average ) per hour spend in the game, so it is more balanced now.
Honestly i don't mind the payout nerf. Sure it's shit that the Tequila for example now gives you less than 700.000 but the heist is easy enough to complete solo that it's not an end of the world scenario. All the people saying that Cayo is now completely broken or busted are overexaggerating.
Let's not forget the fact that the hangar was one of the worst businesses because of long missions and poor payout but with the last 2 updates, Rockstar not only tripled the payout of hangars but also added land missions that are faster and easier to complete so in a way, this is a start to balancing everything (they buff the hangar, they nerf the Cayo Perico Heist). Not saying this is entirely good but it's just the fact that they are buffing other content as well, not just nerfing Cayo Perico.
Yeah I will say I will do the land sourcing and selling modes over the air option now. so it's something else/new to do when its double RP & Cash weeks.

Imo I don't think it's justified, they could make other missions pay better if they want us to do other activities. They just want us to buy more shark cards and Cayo ended some people from buying them.
Those who have completed Prison Break Finale with randoms are still traumatised, so of course, we'd grind the fuck out of the solo-able heist in the game. Nerfing the solo aspect of the game is just a pathetic excuse to "encourage" multiplayer given how toxic and uncooperative GTAO playerbase is.
Towards the end when you mentioned it’d be helpful if they gave us some straight answers to better understand why they’re doing this rebalance, they’ll never tell us that. Their end goal is to make more profit, so they’ll never openly disclose that to us. Especially considering how the CEO of Take-Two has been getting bonuses in millions of dollars every year because of micro-transactions. Everything Rockstar has done so far, like pushing us towards buying and getting GTA+ and taking away our freedom to buy whatever vehicle we please, nerfing heist payouts instead of increasing payouts in other game modes and activities to incentivize players to change what they play, all leads me to believe that they are trying to maximize profits as much as possible. By the time GTA6 releases, they’re going to want to have majority of the player base already subscribed to GTA+, and those without it will just not get any priority and will be SOL without any perks or benefits. Every since COVID companies have seen increased revenues and instead of adjusting their expectations accordingly, they all want to match or even exceed their revenue numbers ever since. I don’t have much hope for GTA6.
I mean cayo still gives me at least 1 mill for 30-40 mins. Its is still the best way of making money, especially if you know how to speedrun it and how to get gold playing solo.
the biggest issue with playing cayo perico with friends is bugs. it is impossible to play because of the bugs. a few examples are your weapons and entrance points switching to default, character freezing when hacking/card swiping/picking up loot and many more. if these bugs didn't exist, i would play this heist with my friends as it's more fun than playing solo

It's almost like Rockstar realized too late that Cayo Perico rapidly became the meta for money-making in GTA Online, and it killed all incentive for players to buy Shark Cards when they could just boot up a private lobby, do the relatively easy setups, run the heist solo, wait 10 minutes, rinse and repeat.

the--ghostspider yeah i know they still havent fixed the titan glitch yet or the ghost raid glitch although there is a way around this source crates in a private session for about say 4 hours then go into a public lobby and when u land in it go back to your private session and the raid timer will reset but whatever u do dont join heists races deathmatches etc cause if u do it will bug out the raid timer hope this helps
This video is just a bad analysis. With 90% of servers all having hackers/modders on them, and the game in general being a security nightmare, I find it weird that Rockstar chooses THIS as a priority. So many bugs that have never gotten cleaned up, they could be applying their efforts to that. Instead, they screw the few honest people that want to make money the honest way without mods. They could update old content to reward more, or better yet let players choose what to pay their employees from MC/CEO jobs, that would make a LOT of content relevant again for people.
I mean, I'd be absolutely okay with this if they got rid of spotting bodies and stopped making things like hardmode for Cayo useless. I'd be okay with this if you could drag bodies, if the compound was designed around spotting bodies and giving players more obvious ways to work around it (because the majority of GTA players are not conditioned for stealth and strategy). Also, fuck automatic spotting. The fact that everyone knows where you are when they spot a body, rather than a heightened response to dead bodies and an investigation to find the perps has always been stupid. Adversary modes and contact missions being hit or miss is a big factor, but matchmaking, connection, and servers collecting players from basically random regions has always been something we've been complaining about since the dawn of time. As you said, none of these modes have much depth to them, but PVP in general just sucks. PVE in general still sucks too because of the weird shit that happened when Doomsday launched. There's a reason that enemies in newer missions don't carry anything heavier than an SMG these days and it's because of the bugged health on some enemies, body armor being useless, and burst glitch on most heavier weapons than SMG category. In no way can I 100% justify the nerf when all the previous heists aren't as competitive in pay even after the buff, flexible, or fun to play. Most players that I've joined through on call are still stuck on Prison because Rashkovsky is bugged half of the time. Restarting the heist does nothing. The mission design, restrictions in said design, payouts, and the general matchmaking needs a dedicated server browser and overhaul. Also, I have a conspiracy theory that over half of the people who join and leave are the ones abusing the teleport glitch and don't actually want to play the heist. I coined the 15 second rule in my friend groups because of that. There are far better ways to go about incentivising people to play other things, and that has to do with the overall mission design for businesses, jobs, and heists, PVE/PVP systems and legacy issues, payout to some degree, and the actual matchmaking. So much fat, bugs, and inherent issues with everything, and there's no way this will be solved very quickly because Rockstar has shown that they don't prioritize making these things better.
None says this more than Contact Missions. Going back to Contact Missions during the 4x payout was actually kind of fun, after so much grinding of crates and stuff. Even Lamar's basic af contact missions were enjoyable when you have the illusion of choice to completing them. I personally *like* missions with GTA's busted-ass stealth mechanic. Maybe doing something to improve how stealth works in the game, and more missions that use that improved stealth mechanic couldn't hurt?
I think part of the problem is that while Rockstar has balanced the possible pay increase to work as long as additional people only get minor cuts, players want twice the total pay for twice the people. The heist doesn't really get easier with more people either, so there's little incentive to do the heist as a team to begin with. The host of a two player lobby needs to make more than what they'd get solo while also giving the second person a good payout. With 3 both the host and the second guy need to make more than as a duo, while giving equal cuts to all non-hosts. Problem is Rockstar doesn't do cooperative incentives (sometimes even the opposite by giving longer cooldowns for doing team work) like that nor would they ever communicate if they did. Point is they made this mess themselves and while they'll have every chance coming up with something better for GTA6, I doubt they will.
And ofc GtaShill once again not mentioning the real reason behind it which we all know, just because he’s too scared to stop getting event weeks info a few hours early and completely biased since he has a hatred for this heist just like Arena War.
Rockstar hasn't tried anything. If they really wanted to people to play anything but Cayo, they would buff the payouts of every othet activity to the same level. Instead, they just keep needlesly nerfing Cayo over and over again, while raising the costs of everything else.

back before Rockstar nerfed Cayo initially I would play about 10 heists per day solo. When they nerfed it I had about $450mil. At that point I had to mix in my businesses to be able to keep the money flow. My friends and I eventually learned how to get around the guards without alerting anyone. We even started mixing in the Casino Heist and I had a 2nd character that would have the heists ready to go, too. I am now at over $1 billion. I still have the heist ready to go from before the nerf. The next time I do it will be the last time until they have the Panther Statue again.
I don't minded a nerf but still a payout reduce I'm not so sure how to feel about this because Rockstar could easily given solo players a longer cooldown period or if you filled 2 or more buffle bags with only the same secondary targets like only grabbing weed for instance there will an extra 175k on top of that or a extra 650k if you filled 3 buffle bags with only gold
I will play what I find fun. I won’t be forced to play shooter style game modes, sell missions in griefer lobbies. I will just play a different game. I like old school gta before MK2s and jet griefers. If maybe I didn’t get k/d punished for trying new game modes I’d give them a try. If maybe the matchmaking didn’t take forever. If maybe R* used it’s money to polish and add QoL changes to its least popular game modes, people might like them. How about random Contact mission mode? Extra payouts for successfully completing. Random adversary etc. etc. Custom vehicles lock random races. Etc. GTA online started small and has been a work in progress. I hope that it evolves into a much better game in gta6 even if becomes a subscription game. I. Which case I’d like to see hosted lobbies of different kinds, business battles, freemodes, taxi work lobbies, etc. Edit. And a lot better policing of cheating. PC is 90% hacked and left for dead. I switched to ps5 and it’s a completely different game!

I wouldn't mind the nerf if other ways of grinding like businesses weren't tedious and if played in public sessions, I have to keep second guessing the player coming up in front of me in a helicopter while I'm in a supply rat truck 2. You can't be surprised that people are more inclined to spam a heist that makes you 1m+ in 45-55 minutes, than doing special cargo, gunrunning or sitting in their nightclub with RUclips on in the background
I'd argue that there are other activities in the game that could earn you the 1 - 1.5 mil during an hour of game time. Dr. Dre contract and having some businesses running in the background would more or less net you the same amount, a sell mission doesn't take a lot to complete. This nerf was simply unnecessary, it is stupidly easy to make money in the game these days anyway. They shouldn't have made it possible to play solo in the first place if their biggest problem is people taking advantage of this feature.
Cayo still pays a 1 mil, so I don’t mind the payout nerf. Cooldown however is annoying af. If you play no longer than 2h straight once a while, you have no chance to get a hard mode.
I seen this coming when the heist came out that’s why i grinded it for 200 million. Remember when the heist had a 1.5 times payout and the gold door glitch. Good times.
I tend to agree with you, the big problem with the rest of activities to do in-game is that most of them are boring as hell, and of course not enough players are playing them. R* seems to turn their heads to another way everytime they had a backlash on all this game modes, and just nerf the one who players enjoy or find more rewarding for the time they spend. Also Cayo nerf was just a matter of time

If Rockstar really want us players to play other stuff in gta then they really should have concentrated on making those areas better/more enticing etc. I'm a solo player, mainly cause my friends have moved onto other games and playing with randoms is just, well, you know 😂 but when they did make other stuff more solo friendly I jumped on it and have been playing those activities etc. Just nerfing Cayo esp on its 10th Anniversary is just stupid and awful. The biggest mystery of all is how and why this didn't happen 6 month after the dlc was realesed,it's not they give a shit about the community reaction,either way this was expected for more than a year ago.
It wasn't justified. I stopped playing after the first nerfs. Now it's just not a good heist anymore. You can't even kill anyone anymore without getting spotted. If they want people to play other modes and heists, what about make them less tedious and more rewarding and enjoyable. The last 3 dlcs sucked in everything cayo perico did good.
There is very little solo content in gta online and if rockstar want that could change that where there is no solo content but if thay want new players in do more content for solo content
You can run a lot of the contact missions solo. Vehicle cargo = solo Nightclub = solo Hangar = solo Acidlab = solo It is possible to be able to get just 1 sellvehicle for all MC business + bunker aswell... but that can be hard(er) to time, but it does work. Cayo perico can be done solo, but after the last changes it pays better per hour when playing with at least 1 more player.
Considering when I first started playing GTA online you only had OG heists and selling product in a public lobby as the means to making money - what you have in GTA online today ain't bad in comparison.
Do taxi jobs they say anf yet want us to do team work they say do cayo by self they say now take away they did add new jobs and fun police cars they wont till more players ask for it and stop playing till they fix more solo heist

The right way to do this is to increase payouts across all missions not nerf stuff because rockstar don’t like people playing one mission. They should be thankful we play their old life support game anyways

That heist was the only way to actually buy something without waiting a week to barely make enough money for it. The thing is, people would actually play other heists if 1) the payouts were as good as cayo and 2)the teammates werent absolute dogshit. I spend 10 minutes(with loading) in a normal cayo heist while i spend AT LEAST 20 minutes in the casino heist with another player. And just imagine how long it takes for pacific standart.
While I think a nerf is justified I think they nerfed it too much. Rockstar has already taken many Ls over the last few years and just recently increased prices for popular vehicles. These changes aren't made to balance payout and incentivise players to play other modes, they are made to make the game even more tedious to sell shark cards and gta+ subscriptions. Wait a few months and gta+ will get 1.5x money on cayo perico. Remember, if you pay for gta+, you are the problem

It's only justified if you look at it from the wrong angle, if rockstar would improve payouts on other heists and make them single player that would solve the problem without angering the player base. And co-op wouldn't be a problem if rockstar hadn't fueled a toxic environment in online lobbies making co-op play nearly impossible. Definitely not justifiable any way you look at it.

The problem wasn't cayo paying too much, it was everything else not paying enough. Not to mention i don't want to race or play death matches with randoms because everyone sucks. That leaves me doing cayo, which i haven't really been doing for a couple years, selling free mode goods, or fighting in free mode
I agree with the fact that most of the other content in the game is heavily ignored by the community but they need to drastically improve that content if they want players them. Like here is a few ideas:
- Special Cargo: add a duffle bag so we can pick up all three crates rather than go back and forth to the warehouse.
- Biker businesses: remove the post op van mission and the garbage truck one, and replace them with something simpler and doesn’t make it a pain in the ass to complete.
- Gunrunning: simply increase the sell timer to 30mins like any other business.
- The OG Heists: needs a full rework that allows 2-4 players just like the other heists and different replay-able
factors like the casino heist to make them feel fresh and different to play each time.
- Contact missions and storyline missions: payouts need to be increased and some massive incentive for players to play them over and over again. Like as a reward for playing though ULP missions would reward a one time use of double money on any of the Doomsday finales. First/Last dose missions would reward the same thing but for the Acid Lab. It gets players to play these missions again rather than the typical one time play-though.
- Arena War: needs a massive money boost to all modes to compensate for how much it costs to buy and mod a Arena War Vehicle. Plus a tournament system for players and crews that can reward something like $5,000,000 if someone or a crew wins first place. Though with this games modders…. probably not good. But still better than what it currently is.
They need to be thinking of stuff like this for updates rather than keep adding bland and boring content like whatever Mercenaries was.
imagine one day the cayo perico heist can only do once like a daily activity.. oh wait, don't give them ideas 💀

I only do cayo once a week for fun, I am more of a Business grinder... If they didnt change the payout then that would be ok with me.
TBH, the 2 1/2 hour solo cooldown already has caused me to do Cayo only once per day much of the time, since I don't have a big window of free time to play video games most days.

The fact that the OG heist need 4 people to do is why i dont play them, You cant even do the setups w/o 4 people. The casino heist i get to play about 1 time a month when a friends or two can play at the same time and me... but at least i can do the setups by myself.

i know that this an old video now but i just have to say, your logic of "it makes sense because it makes you play other game modes" is exactly what they want you to think and is completely wrong, because if they wanted me to play other game modes they would make those ones pay more, not make my favourite one pay less. all this nerf did for me was make me stop playing the game entirely, until this nerf i was still playing a few hours every week and making use of discounts but when this nerf hit i completely stopped playing for the entire 2/3 months until coming back now to take a look at the new DLC. all this nerf was, was trying to make it impossible to earn money fast and force you to buy shark cards just like the old days before the economy accelerated. i have nearly 5000 hours in gta v and i still didn't own everything i wanted, i had about 50 mil worth of stuff i still wanted to buy when i quit and that's with nearly 900 mil earned in my career on the game, even for long term players the grind is still necessary and now it doesn't even exist.
Changes like this don’t make me want to try other modes. It just makes me want to play other games. Since Diamond Casino Heist & Cayo Perico are the only 2 activities I enjoy doing these days, I might as well switch to Payday. A game series that is focused specifically on heists.
I'm just glad i can use mods in singleplayer if i feel like it instead of a full time job in online lmao

Agree casino heist pays more , but takes also more time. After the the recent changes to perico both perico and casino heist pay about the same amount ( on average ) per hour spend in the game, so it is more balanced now.
Honestly i don't mind the payout nerf. Sure it's shit that the Tequila for example now gives you less than 700.000 but the heist is easy enough to complete solo that it's not an end of the world scenario. All the people saying that Cayo is now completely broken or busted are overexaggerating.

Let's not forget the fact that the hangar was one of the worst businesses because of long missions and poor payout but with the last 2 updates, Rockstar not only tripled the payout of hangars but also added land missions that are faster and easier to complete so in a way, this is a start to balancing everything (they buff the hangar, they nerf the Cayo Perico Heist). Not saying this is entirely good but it's just the fact that they are buffing other content as well, not just nerfing Cayo Perico.
Yeah I will say I will do the land sourcing and selling modes over the air option now. so it's something else/new to do when its double RP & Cash weeks.

Towards the end when you mentioned it’d be helpful if they gave us some straight answers to better understand why they’re doing this rebalance, they’ll never tell us that. Their end goal is to make more profit, so they’ll never openly disclose that to us. Especially considering how the CEO of Take-Two has been getting bonuses in millions of dollars every year because of micro-transactions. Everything Rockstar has done so far, like pushing us towards buying and getting GTA+ and taking away our freedom to buy whatever vehicle we please, nerfing heist payouts instead of increasing payouts in other game modes and activities to incentivize players to change what they play, all leads me to believe that they are trying to maximize profits as much as possible. By the time GTA6 releases, they’re going to want to have majority of the player base already subscribed to GTA+, and those without it will just not get any priority and will be SOL without any perks or benefits. Every since COVID companies have seen increased revenues and instead of adjusting their expectations accordingly, they all want to match or even exceed their revenue numbers ever since. I don’t have much hope for GTA6.
As someone who has no friends and only gets a couple hours to play, all I can say is they made it a waste of time for me to even play gta 5 at all

the biggest issue with playing cayo perico with friends is bugs. it is impossible to play because of the bugs. a few examples are your weapons and entrance points switching to default, character freezing when hacking/card swiping/picking up loot and many more. if these bugs didn't exist, i would play this heist with my friends as it's more fun than playing solo

It's almost like Rockstar realized too late that Cayo Perico rapidly became the meta for money-making in GTA Online, and it killed all incentive for players to buy Shark Cards when they could just boot up a private lobby, do the relatively easy setups, run the heist solo, wait 10 minutes, rinse and repeat.

the--ghostspider yeah i know they still havent fixed the titan glitch yet or the ghost raid glitch although there is a way around this source crates in a private session for about say 4 hours then go into a public lobby and when u land in it go back to your private session and the raid timer will reset but whatever u do dont join heists races deathmatches etc cause if u do it will bug out the raid timer hope this helps

This video is just a bad analysis. With 90% of servers all having hackers/modders on them, and the game in general being a security nightmare, I find it weird that Rockstar chooses THIS as a priority. So many bugs that have never gotten cleaned up, they could be applying their efforts to that. Instead, they screw the few honest people that want to make money the honest way without mods. They could update old content to reward more, or better yet let players choose what to pay their employees from MC/CEO jobs, that would make a LOT of content relevant again for people.
I mean, I'd be absolutely okay with this if they got rid of spotting bodies and stopped making things like hardmode for Cayo useless. I'd be okay with this if you could drag bodies, if the compound was designed around spotting bodies and giving players more obvious ways to work around it (because the majority of GTA players are not conditioned for stealth and strategy). Also, fuck automatic spotting. The fact that everyone knows where you are when they spot a body, rather than a heightened response to dead bodies and an investigation to find the perps has always been stupid. Adversary modes and contact missions being hit or miss is a big factor, but matchmaking, connection, and servers collecting players from basically random regions has always been something we've been complaining about since the dawn of time. As you said, none of these modes have much depth to them, but PVP in general just sucks. PVE in general still sucks too because of the weird shit that happened when Doomsday launched. There's a reason that enemies in newer missions don't carry anything heavier than an SMG these days and it's because of the bugged health on some enemies, body armor being useless, and burst glitch on most heavier weapons than SMG category. In no way can I 100% justify the nerf when all the previous heists aren't as competitive in pay even after the buff, flexible, or fun to play. Most players that I've joined through on call are still stuck on Prison because Rashkovsky is bugged half of the time. Restarting the heist does nothing. The mission design, restrictions in said design, payouts, and the general matchmaking needs a dedicated server browser and overhaul. Also, I have a conspiracy theory that over half of the people who join and leave are the ones abusing the teleport glitch and don't actually want to play the heist. I coined the 15 second rule in my friend groups because of that. There are far better ways to go about incentivising people to play other things, and that has to do with the overall mission design for businesses, jobs, and heists, PVE/PVP systems and legacy issues, payout to some degree, and the actual matchmaking. So much fat, bugs, and inherent issues with everything, and there's no way this will be solved very quickly because Rockstar has shown that they don't prioritize making these things better.
None says this more than Contact Missions. Going back to Contact Missions during the 4x payout was actually kind of fun, after so much grinding of crates and stuff. Even Lamar's basic af contact missions were enjoyable when you have the illusion of choice to completing them.
I personally *like* missions with GTA's busted-ass stealth mechanic. Maybe doing something to improve how stealth works in the game, and more missions that use that improved stealth mechanic couldn't hurt?
The Pink Diamond payout being unchanged means it can be used for an event week... or GTA+...

I think part of the problem is that while Rockstar has balanced the possible pay increase to work as long as additional people only get minor cuts, players want twice the total pay for twice the people. The heist doesn't really get easier with more people either, so there's little incentive to do the heist as a team to begin with.
The host of a two player lobby needs to make more than what they'd get solo while also giving the second person a good payout. With 3 both the host and the second guy need to make more than as a duo, while giving equal cuts to all non-hosts. Problem is Rockstar doesn't do cooperative incentives (sometimes even the opposite by giving longer cooldowns for doing team work) like that nor would they ever communicate if they did.
Point is they made this mess themselves and while they'll have every chance coming up with something better for GTA6, I doubt they will.

back before Rockstar nerfed Cayo initially I would play about 10 heists per day solo. When they nerfed it I had about $450mil. At that point I had to mix in my businesses to be able to keep the money flow. My friends and I eventually learned how to get around the guards without alerting anyone. We even started mixing in the Casino Heist and I had a 2nd character that would have the heists ready to go, too. I am now at over $1 billion. I still have the heist ready to go from before the nerf. The next time I do it will be the last time until they have the Panther Statue again.
I don't minded a nerf but still a payout reduce I'm not so sure how to feel about this because Rockstar could easily given solo players a longer cooldown period or if you filled 2 or more buffle bags with only the same secondary targets like only grabbing weed for instance there will an extra 175k on top of that or a extra 650k if you filled 3 buffle bags with only gold
They did gave a larger cool down but it was way to large like 4 hours large. They reduced it so it’s not a pain in the ass

I will play what I find fun. I won’t be forced to play shooter style game modes, sell missions in griefer lobbies. I will just play a different game. I like old school gta before MK2s and jet griefers. If maybe I didn’t get k/d punished for trying new game modes I’d give them a try. If maybe the matchmaking didn’t take forever. If maybe R* used it’s money to polish and add QoL changes to its least popular game modes, people might like them. How about random Contact mission mode? Extra payouts for successfully completing. Random adversary etc. etc. Custom vehicles lock random races. Etc.
GTA online started small and has been a work in progress. I hope that it evolves into a much better game in gta6 even if becomes a subscription game. I. Which case I’d like to see hosted lobbies of different kinds, business battles, freemodes, taxi work lobbies, etc.
Edit. And a lot better policing of cheating. PC is 90% hacked and left for dead. I switched to ps5 and it’s a completely different game!

these nerfs only delay people from purhcasing vehicles they want, it just gives me a reason to mess around during set ups
1. I wouldn't mind the nerf if other ways of grinding like businesses weren't tedious and if played in public sessions, I have to keep second guessing the player coming up in front of me in a helicopter while I'm in a supply rat truck
2. You can't be surprised that people are more inclined to spam a heist that makes you 1m+ in 45-55 minutes, than doing special cargo, gunrunning or sitting in their nightclub with RUclips on in the background
I'd argue that there are other activities in the game that could earn you the 1 - 1.5 mil during an hour of game time. Dr. Dre contract and having some businesses running in the background would more or less net you the same amount, a sell mission doesn't take a lot to complete. This nerf was simply unnecessary, it is stupidly easy to make money in the game these days anyway. They shouldn't have made it possible to play solo in the first place if their biggest problem is people taking advantage of this feature.

I tend to agree with you, the big problem with the rest of activities to do in-game is that most of them are boring as hell, and of course not enough players are playing them.
R* seems to turn their heads to another way everytime they had a backlash on all this game modes, and just nerf the one who players enjoy or find more rewarding for the time they spend.

There is very little solo content in gta online and if rockstar want that could change that where there is no solo content but if thay want new players in do more content for solo content

It is possible to be able to get just 1 sellvehicle for all MC business + bunker aswell... but that can be hard(er) to time, but it does work.
Cayo perico can be done solo, but after the last changes it pays better per hour when playing with at least 1 more player.
Most people are going to go back to the Casino Heist.
Considering when I first started playing GTA online you only had OG heists and selling product in a public lobby as the means to making money - what you have in GTA online today ain't bad in comparison.

I'm not for the nerf to begin with, but 30% is way too much. Probably 10%-15% across the board would make more sense.
Next the dr dre contract is gonna be 500k. But it will be justified. Justified by people now having to buy shark cards.
Watch as everything is hit and prices go up, heck some things might be locked behind real money and subscription services now.....oh wait that is already happening with the car club!
Assault on Cayo is minimum 4 people so it's a bit hard for everyone who play solo or even in pairs to participate
The right way to do this is to increase payouts across all missions not nerf stuff because rockstar don’t like people playing one mission. They should be thankful we play their old life support game anyways
If they want to encourage more to do, then make the payout of fun activities higher! And lower prices for crying out loud.

Honestly i don't know why the community just lets Rockstar get away with this sort of things, most players are upset about this nerf but they just let it pass, they should mobilize online to try to make it clear that people are not pleased with these changes

Rockstar should have known that making the Cayo solo was going to be a problem and should have made it 2 player to begin with. It probably wouldn’t have needed these huge nerfs if they would’ve used their brains. I wish they would double the payouts on the contact missions, they were so much fun to play, just not worth it in the current economy
Oh come on dude! you completely failed to say that rockstar FORCED us to constantly play cayo because every single vehicle or property they released past years cost more than 1 million even before any type of customization. That heist was the only way to actually buy something without waiting a week to barely make enough money for it. Sounds like you are blaming the playerbase for trying to not go into debt by buying shark cards all the time....

I would also make blow torch available every second heist like aproaches in casino heist.

Right now you actually get around 70K for winning a match of Hasta La Vista.
The thing is, people would actually play other heists if 1) the payouts were as good as cayo and 2)the teammates werent absolute dogshit. I spend 10 minutes(with loading) in a normal cayo heist while i spend AT LEAST 20 minutes in the casino heist with another player. And just imagine how long it takes for pacific standart.
I still need 4 people for OG heist, at least doomsday you only need 2... sometimes i can get 2 people... 4 is not easy at all.
They could've increased the payouts for the other activities, especially the other heists, BUT NO!
While I think a nerf is justified I think they nerfed it too much. Rockstar has already taken many Ls over the last few years and just recently increased prices for popular vehicles. These changes aren't made to balance payout and incentivise players to play other modes, they are made to make the game even more tedious to sell shark cards and gta+ subscriptions. Wait a few months and gta+ will get 1.5x money on cayo perico. Remember, if you pay for gta+, you are the problem
