You need to listen to the LP version where Flav breaks it down at the end... ""Are you ready for the real revolution, which is the evolution of the mind. If you seek, then you will find, that we all come from the divine."
Yeah the lp version rules because if flav’s break down, but I have to watch this sometimes because that version cuts the third verse off. I wish there was a version with both
This song brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it. Its a damn shame we as a society would rather hear about money cars and drug dealing than a conscious moral message. Chuck D will go down as one of the GOATs simply because in a time where where they could have easily sold out and bought in to the gangsta rap scene but PE stuck to their guns and Chuck D flat refuses to propagate negativity in his art.
No gang bs, no threats, and no ridiculous uncalled for cussing. It’s just music that is straight to the point with a message. This is a song we could all stand to hear.
They aren’t rapping about getting bitches, doing drugs, shooting people, fucking people over. They are singing about the crisis in the world and how shit is, and they are rapping about God and to not let anyone take your love away. This is where it will always be at.
I saw this movie in the theater with my best friend in High School. We were so into playing basketball, at school, tournaments etc. It was a great time for me. Unfortunately, my friend killed himself in 2007. Anytime I hear this song it makes me think of him and brings back all the great memories I have of him and all the fun we used to have. He was a GREAT basketball player and could have been something! I miss him so much! R.I.P Anthony Giglio!
Yeah, when I first heard this song I was so offended that some kids were ripping one of my favorite artists. When I found out that Stephen Stills not only approved of the use of his song but actually played in the Public Image version, I felt guilty for ever having felt offended.
This was a great song by Buffalo Springfield. Beautifully blended with hip hop by Public Enemy. Great music has no boundaries. Recognize and appreciate art
brother, we are living in crazy times, it's just sad that so much hate exist. We are passengers stranded on this rock we call earth together ; we all were born and found it here, it's here for all of us to enjoy. Humans are the worst thing that ever happened to the universe.
And yet they kicked out Flavor Flav from the group because he was a Trump supporter. You can't have an opinion in modern day society. They decide that for you. If you go against it, you will will be at the mercy of those in charge and it will cost you dearly if you don't agree with the main stream masses.
@@milesparker3263 Opinions are just that, opinions. Just because you disagree with it you shouldn't be silenced, hated on or treated horribly to the point of threatening people. You can and should disagree with it if it's not what you believe in. Problem is in modern day society if your opinion doesn't fit the narrative, you ARE hated, called names, threatened, lose your job ect. "walking the walk" shouldn't be silencing someone because of their opinion being different from yours. That's what fascists do, silence those who don't think like they do. If you want to support that behavior that's fine, that's why our society is becoming the way it is. I do not support it.
" What's love got to do with what you got? Don't let a win get to your head Or a loss to your heart." That might just be one of my favorite lyrics ever. PE, definitely one of the best in the game.
This song should be placed in a time capsule, why ? because it will stand the test of time. Matter of fact, it won't be a test right along with Marvin Gay's "What's going on "..mike drop, walks off, one tear in my eye😢
I believe this song is one of the most respected hip hop songs of all time. I have loved this song since it came out in 1998. It is hard to find new music that is even close to being as good as this. Keep it up P.E. 😊
I agree, this is one of the best rap songs ever. My dad is a harsh rap hater(im 40 hes 64) I played this song for him, and told him to listen to the lyrics. Blew his mind, he asked for a copy of it.
