- HEY LARLEE'S! Pinterest dupes tested foundations addition was a hard video to film, but I have been wanting to create for a long time. I love foundations however they can be expensive AF. I did indeed find some dupes to be true. Pinterest is one of my favorites sites for a long time, so much inspiration. Let me disclaim my makeup looked like total shit in the close ups, I had been wearing it all day, and with all the makeup wiping it just went to hell in a hand basket. MERP. Same, weekends are by far the worst. Barely anyone uploads on the weekends and Sunday's are definitely the worst. I find my self refreshing after 4-6 hours and only 2 or 3 new videos pop up and I may only be interested in 1 of them. I usually watch Snooki and jwoww on go90 on Sunday's. They have a really fun series with a lot of diy projects.

The matte and pore less definetly isn't super matte which I like! I'm oily but I don't want to look like the moisture got sucked out of me like some foundations tend to do.

see, i feel like the fit me doesn't last on me and it gets shiny pretty quickly. :( maybe i need to try out a different way of application...what way do you use? i typically use a brush and set.

L'Oréal n Lancome are sister companies so the cushion foundations are most likely exactly or near exact formulation

That's not necessarily true. Even if a huge brand like loreal or revlon owns the high end brand, they put more good ingredients into the more expensive products. It's in their best interest to do so because otherwise people would stop buying the high end stuff haha.
+Jane Doe I agree, there has to be a lil something extra in the higher end ones to give them their edge over the drugstore. So just for kicks I looked up the ingredients to see what makes the miracle cushion that much better? For the most part the ingredients are the same, until the last few... the miracle cushion has salicylic acid and fragrance while the true match doesn't. Makes me wonder just how close the others may be?? This stuff always fascinates me!! Does it for any other of you makeup lovers out there?? xo
+Amanda Cain yes very interesting. But sometimes theirs no better ingredients it's just the name so that's what people pay for is name. Drives me crazy that just bc they're a big name company they charge 30-40$$ more when it's the same as a 9-13$$ one. 😡
Also L'oreal owns Giorgio Armani. They both have similar products. The loreal visible blur foundation is very similar to the GA face fabric foundation

I'm a Maybellne Fit Me fan...both formulas. I was shocked when first trying this as I was strictly a high end foundation user my entire life. I feel like the Fit Me reminds me of Nars as well!
Which nars foundation specifically?
+eyerus I used to use Nars Sheer Glow and found the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy version a close dupe in coverage. Colors are not anywhere close but for rhe price difference I can buy three and mix them any way I want. I also tend to use a densely packed brush since a sponge sucks up the foundation. I will remove excuss with a sponge.
+Phyllis T Ha! I do the same thing. You can afford to do it when Ulta even does buy one get one half off. I have like 3 colors of each and love mixing! My shade can fit any season. I have many high end foundations, but love fit me!

I'll have to tell my mom about the Milani foundation. The Clinique foundation has been the only foundation to cover her sun spots. But she goes through a lot of it and wants to find something cheaper that gives her the same coverage.
I have acne scars and the original loreal true match is the best!
I've tried both and the Milani gives a much higher coverage in my opinion.
You can try dermablend it is a foundation that can cover tattoos, spots, marks, and all

if you have a more pale or reddish skin tone, definitely don't try the milani foundation. it's suited for tan/yellow/darker skin tones..
Does it work on dry skin ?
i have oily skin and it worked for me, so probably as long as you moisturized (and maybe exfoliated) before hand. you could always return it if it doesn't work

Everyones skin is different. I have seen someone with a pale skin tone pull it off.

I don't know but I need to know too! At first it looked a little like turned up turquoise by China glaze but I pulled it out and it's a little darker than what she's wearing.

Did you know that Lancôme is owned by Loreal? It is a division of Loreal, Corp. That is probably why the formulas are pretty much identical bc, well, they are. Give or take some "luxury" additions in the Lancôme.

It really bothers me when people say, "if you have oily skin, I don't recommend it," um, excuse me , but I love me a dewy foundation and I'm oily af. If you like the look of dewy skin, wear a dewy foundation. There are primers and setting powders/sprays that can keep your skin in check. xx 💓
i LOVEEE dewy foundations too!! But do you know of any great products to help keep the oil in check? My t-zone has a mind of its own!! Lol

+Angelia Meow LOL I totally get it. I use Maybelline loose powder, it in my t-zone (kinda like baking my t-zone) spray my setting spray (urban decay, travel size version from ulta for $14) and then wisk the powder away. Works so well for me. I'm on a "freshman in college Budget" haha 😊💓

You shouldn't let it bother you... It's just a recommendation, not an order haha. I have super oily skin as well and if I put anything dewy or luminous near my skin I could slide down a hill on my face.!! I avoid them like the plague! If only I knew those recommendations before I bought those products :P

I'm currently wearing the infallible pro matte. I'm getting married next April and yes the brands of make up I want to wear has a place in the WEDDING book. Do you suggest the NARS as a long wearing bridal makeup foundation? Bc the infallible pro matte will not be with me that day.

my friend is crazy about nt buying expensive makeup, she looked into the lumi foundation and the giorgi armani and they are owned by the same company, so they are essentially the same formula
not really , every brand in a company is divided with different formulas and strategies , they might be similar or dupes but not the same exactly
So true, Stephanie Nicole on youtube said it has 80% of the same formula. Basically almost the same thing

I think the answer to your question is very self explanatory. Did she apply other products such as blush to test the "blend ability with other products"? Did she leave the foundation on for hours to test longevity? She said many times that they felt the same and had the same coverage therefor she was testing them based on appearance. It would be very hard and time consuming for her to wear 10 foundations for 8-10 hours each while filming the process.
+Judith Vazquez oh thanks for clearing that up. Then in my opinion, I wouldn't imply that they are dupes, or be specific about what you're actually comparing them on. Some ladies might go with the cheaper product hoping it stays on the entire day and doesn't. That could be quite disappointing, especially if they could afford the more expensive one anyway.
+Ara R.I agree, maybe dupes isn't the correct word because she isn't sure of the longevity. Maybe she should've just said it was a cheaper alternative to an expensive product which for obvious reasons would be better quality.
+Ara R. She was only wearing them for the time she tried them on but she said that she had used all but 1 or 2 (I remember clinique being 1). Based on what she said, she was going on what her previous experience has been + the immediate coverage & feel of the product. That's how I took it anyway...

I'm VERY dry skinned, but I hate L'Oréal Lumi foundation. I feel it's a bit glittery, and it never sets to my skin. It doesn't dry down and keeps getting on my clothes. I do like the cushion version, though.
I have super dry skin too, which is why I use the L'Oréal infallible pro-glow foundation. It gives a nice coverage and a natural, glowy, finish. I suggest trying it.
you can mix it with a moisturizer and the coverage is a little lighter

I love your videos - this was particularly a great video - comparing higher end products with drugstore brands. A lot of people are needing guidance as to what they can save money on. Women are not only often taking home 30 cents less on the dollar - than men are, but they are also having to buy a lot of products and clothing items that men are not having to purchase.
Cosmetics are something that really add up over time...you can spend your entire life's savings on makeup, skincare, and hair care products. It is really important to find products that are less expensive, but give you professional results!
