The reason why S1’s ending feels so weird and “calm” is that it wasn’t supposed to be the finale. Breaking Bad happened around the Writers Strike of 2008, so a lot of things were up in the air in terms of what they’d be able to get done and when they’d be able to do it so because of that, the ending they had planned got pushed out into S2 and S1 was overall shorter with just seven episodes. Honestly given the chaos of that time, that they were able to create a series of TV this solid is a damn impressive feat, even if they couldn’t get everything they wanted done.

I think Walt did that with Skyler in the school because he felt invisible and powerful. They were all basically talking about him and none of them knew it. It was a power trip thing. "I can do this infront of all of you and you have no idea".
Cracking your knuckles while not great for the health of your joints long-term is entirely unconnected to arthritis. That's an old wives tale. Arthritis develops due to other issues.

funny historical side-note on the legality of meth
in WW2 both the Allied and Axis militaries would give meth to combat pilots, to increase their reflex speed and allow them to fly for longer without sleeping
Banging in your car is potentially public indecency/indecent exposure. And being on school grounds could result in a higher charge. But like with everything, it depends on if you live in the right place or have the right job. School teacher cancer guy, they probably just tell him to take it home.
We had drug dogs at my school. They would randomly walk into classrooms and make everyone leave the room without their bags and stuff. They'd run the dog around the room to find drugs.
Our school only had the dogs search the lockers while we were in the classroom that's why I never got caught 😂😂

This was the season finale because it happened during the writer’s strike, season 2 episode 2 is really like the actual finale.
There was a writer’s strike in Hollywood at the time this was filmed, that’s why it ends with 7 episodes. And feels abrupt. Fun fact also, Jesse was supposed to be killed off at the end of season 1 but people lover Aaron Paul's portrayal and him as a person so much early on that they kept him onto season 2. keep watching, each season gets better and better. its a rare show that crescendos, just when you cant think it can get any louder, it gets louder and louder into a beautiful symphony climax and the wonderful ending. they stick the landing here, unlike Game of Thrones.

Not sure whether you know this or not but this was supposed to be Jesse’s last episode. The original conception for Breaking Bad was that Walt would have a new assistant to help him every season, my personal theory is that the Chad character from the first couple episodes was being set up to be the replacement in S2 as that character gets an odd amount of attention for someone we never see again.
Regardless, Aaron Paul’s chemistry - pun intended - with Cranston was so strong that they changed the intended dynamic of the show to instead make it about the relationship with Jesse and Walt, Tuco’s goon being the death that ends the season instead.
And what an excellent choice that was. These two are so good together and their dynamic is so strong that I literally cannot imagine them being portrayed as well by anyone else, or how another character besides Jesse would make the show better besides him. Keeping him around was very much an unplanned and off the cuff decision from Vince, but it’s absolutely one of the key ones that made this show what it is in the long run.

And I don’t see why not. The whole show is, as Walt says, about change so it’s perfectly plausible his character could have gone from someone detestable to otherwise over his season.
More importantly, why’s he there? Why make him a named character unless you’re setting him up for something?

Talking about not having to think on this is partially true, however every scene has purpose and many scenes you felt were obscure or meaningless come back episodes later, sometimes a full season later. It's kind of crazy how meticulously the story was laid out in the series. All 5 seasons were written and planned before it ever started (with the exception of Jesse that was originally meant to die in season 1)

Also, time is a flat circle. Everyone knows this, and if you don't get the reference you definitely have to watch the first season of True Detective. Skip the rest of the seasons, though the newest might be worth a look from what I hear.
