Asia was a go to for a bunch of us in the summer of 1982, along with some Van Halen, Judas Priest, Rainbow and Kansas (Vinyl Confessions).

That's how I remember it, as well.

As an 11 year old back in 1982, I used to crank this tune on my Walkman while getting lost at the mall. Good times.

Great super group with members from Yes, ELP and King Crimson this was just a small sample of their sound! Can’t beat Carl Palmer on drums. Dive into this short run group guys!!

‘Time Again’ is the best song on the album

Saw Asia at the Santa Monic Auditorium sometime in the '80s. (I'm a longtime Yes/ELP fan) Carl Palmer performed the last totally indulgent (albeit excellent) drum solo that i can recall seeing at a concert. It bordered on a parody.

Old friend Steve Howe from Yes on lead guitar.

Steve Howe said he got this sound by putting all his amps in a room with stone walls

Better than most contrived bands. Great roots.

I get what you mean about this song. The chorus, which is usually where everyone joins and sings along, sleeps on, and the verses are more pronounced. Oh well… we still tried to dance to it….

80s super group. Had 3 or 4 great songs, then disappeared. Their members had been with other successful groups before they go together.

Not a big fan of the band but I did win two tickets to see them, plus I didn’t want to pass up the chance to see Steve Howe of Yes , Carl Palmer of ELP and John Wetton of King Crimson. This is the perfect example of the sum not equal to the individual parts. IMHO

Asia was to me the ultimate sell-out band. Great musicians reduced to tunes engineered to appeal to the masses.
And to do so, they dumbed it all down. The worst of it is when I mindlessly start enjoying it.

All of these guys spent the 70s creating interesting unique music, and then via Asia, spent the 80s undermining the great stuff they did in the prior decade. IMHO. Some people love it but not my sad cup of tea.

This. Asia was a sad epitaph to some great artists. Individually, I loved those guys but they went Top 40.

There is still some proggish leanings on this album .. for pop rock songs they get fairly busy at this times ..Heat of the Moment is the most basic song on this debut

The whole album has no fillers
    All the songs masterfully crafted.
There are better songs. Really was an album to own

nobody asked me soooo ... b. '65 raised on classic detroit rock radio , this came out as the genre was evolving & I just didn't connect to thier 'pop'ness sound . oh I still haven't evolved with them

HATE this song. I consider it the death of progressive rock. Waaaaay too Pop.
