  • What's the role of art in sustainability?
Tima Bansal (NBS Executive Director and Professor at Ivey Business School) interviewed Christoph Thun-Hohenstein (Director of the Museum of Applied Arts) about how art can support purpose in business and society.
According to Thun-Hohenstein, art can help us understand the big, holistic, picture of issues in society. It can help to "captivate where science can't", and to illustrate the interconnections that are otherwise hard to see.
How can art maximize its impact in the business world? Thun-Hohenstein advocates that using digital technology to strengthen the connection between places like museums and the broader modern society, ensuring arts can bring together people from all walks of life.
This conversation was part of the 2021 Multi-sector Dialogue for a Sustainable Transformation.
The Dialogue's theme was "Radical Change vs. More of the Same?" Leaders from business, the public sector, and academia participated in conversations and networking around cutting-edge sustainability issues.
