Hello Astral Gang! It is with great disappointment that I had to remove the original OFFWORLD video due to copyrights claim on the artwork used. Apparently it was a part of a video that was created for Hardwell’s 2017 tour. The artwork’s copyright spared no room even for fair use. It was such a shame because a collective of 1.3 million views went down the drain for my own negligence, what a shame. I’ll be more thorough next time when it comes to using artworks, please share this new one around and let’s help rebuild it again. On a brighter note, a new mix is on its way revealing later tonight so stay tuned for that! Best, Astral Throb.
@Catasstrophy oh. ok. I misunderstood you're protecting Astral Throb. You're just saying it's ok to steal ideas and digital products in general and mad that you can't see the original art anymore. I imagine your ass is as wide as your ideas
Don't lose hope. Several companies are starting to offer Space Tourism packages (Virgin Galactic, SpaceX, etc.). Right now, even a trip to LEO might cost a fortune, but if it becomes a profitable enterprise, you will soon (say, in 20-50 years) be able to travel to the Moon or to a different planet at a reasonable price. Remember that in 1903, when planes were invented, nobody really tough that they would become the main way to travel around the world.
The music and the wallpaper makes me feel nostalgic or another feeling I can’t quite grasp, something along the lines of longing to be somewhere I once were
This is pretty much the synthwave effect. I think it's maybe because 80's and 90's sounding music will obviously be nostalgic for a lot of us but also because movies create complex emotions so if you enjoy sci-fi movies or the cyberpunk aesthetic then this will obviously trigger some of those feelings. I sometimes think like to think that we're the ancestors of a technologically advanced people that got marooned on a uncharted planet (earth) somehow. Cut off from our home planet we devolved into tribalism and obviously whatever techno gadgets we had broke so long story short is maybe we long for a technocratic future because that's where we come from
@@spongerobert That's funny, my Dad says the same thing, and actually uses some facts to prove his point. Which may be why I have such a depressing though about why we can't work together to build ships that are capable of exploring the stars, rather than waring with eachother.
It's the same reason violins and (in the right hands) trumpets are good at it: it's about the instrument's ability to offer sustain, i.e. hold a note for an extended period. Many instruments cannot do this, most obviously guitars and pianos. (You can try to fudge it with a sustain pedal or heavy reverb, but it's a hack that doesn't fully work.) This is why synth music is so good at melancholy; it offers a different, broader palette of emotional possibilities when compared against more percussive instruments.
I was here when this was uploaded. Synthwave was a new term for me but not the music. The futuristic sound became instilled to me and now I can't go back to living without this genre. This video is now my nostalgia, study staple and an old friend I can turn to when I look forward when I need a reminder why I do what I do with reason.
Whether you're winding down after a long day or revving up for a night out, these beats set the tone for a perfect late-night drive through the city. 🌙🚗🎵

The music just brings up such an intense amount of emotions. In my opinion this is the best synthwave compilation I’ve ever seen
I think this mix came out when I was working on my undergraduate thesis. I am currently working on something that could develop into a doctoral dissertation, and this mix has somehow been a constant through both. This will be in my acknowledgements.
So weird how a genre can come out of nowhere and instantly become one of your favourites by reminding you of childhood while still being relevant to your current life.

I'm always sad that I'll never be in a world like the one in the video, I see cyberpunk things and I just wish that's how it is right now. In most of the cyberpunk pictures or videos there are those 'tunnels' high in the sky connecting huge buildings, flying cars and just the future in general. But like someone else in this comment section said, Nothing we can do about it but try to bring the future here.
We will be remembered for building the Singularity. And when that day comes - sometime between 100 years and 100 thousand years from now - our children will be able to look back and salute each one of us, for we were the founding bricks of the great Tower that is LIFE. Future awaits.
Elevated walkways are nice, could have used more glass so you can look at the views. And an elevated trains just seems nicer to me compared to flying cars. Also parks.
Its not exactly like that. See it another way: we went from horses to locomotives to veritable supercomputers in our pockets in 200 years. Theres a gazillion stars out there, that we know of, for a gazillion years. We know time is not linear. The chances that, in a virtually limitless universe noone figures out reality are so close to nill its a jose. For all we know, the Singularity is achieved. Then what? After delighting with countless pleasures and adventures, establishing a society of immortal trascendental beings, a couple kids are like "I wanna do the 5D equivalent of 1st world kids doing 'learning experiences' in 3rd world countries" and so we come back to here and now. This world is recreated so the future us can experience the past. So this longing you fear is not the longing of the future but a distant memory, of home. But the kicker is double, first, this world never was, it was itself the child of a previous Singularity, as will be the next. But the reality is, the Singularity is all there really is. All that ever was, all that can possibly be. By its very definition. And so you are not a man on Earth dreaming of the Star, but a Star dreaming of Earth and sometimes remembering that you are forever at Home.
