The amount of views for your wonderful stories are sadly lower than deserved right now. But you are documenting a great legacy for Sydney that I am certain shall one day be as greatly appreciated by history as they are by people such as me right now. I thank and applaud you for such beautiful work.

Wow! We do get complimentary comments but nothing quite as eloquent as yours. It would be nice to think of us being greatly appreciated some time in the future. Our viewers, according to RUclips Analytics are at least over 35 with a good many over 65, with four out of five male. The Creator, she who is heard on the video, says she cares little for how many watch, she will continue to create videos. I’m the male voice, who spends time trying to discover what factors are involved in people watching our videos, so far with little success. I advised against doing Kingsgrove, and what a pleasant surprise that has been regarding views. Someone yesterday suggested that a period in the 1950, when the Kingsgrove Slasher made headlines along with the gas holder explosion and a murder, were the hooks.
Not surprised by Bankstown, as the adjacent suburb of Canterbury performs pretty well.
We floated the idea of history societies joining us on the channel, but no one showed any interest. Going it alone has meant a consistency in style. We are not interested in promoting ourselves on video, rather that history should be the focus.Though we will give audio visual talks to community groups. All we have is a computer, microphone (U.S.B.) books. We don’t personally promote ourselves through Facebook. Neither do we have any need for funding from any other source for we care not to be beholden to them.

I applaud you. Standing ovation! Your work is incredible. I feel touched and honoured you shared such insights into your motivations. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and may God bless you both.

@@kremolaconia A little overwhelmed by your complimentary remarks. I feel I should give you some clarification as to why we wanted to create the channel. It stems from my reading the Oxford book of Australian short stories, published I suspect in the 1950s. Whilst they drew their stories from the length and breadth of our great island, what was for the most part missing were stories from suburban Sydney. There is but one, set in Newtown and recognisably so for the reference to the glass and jam factory. The other factor was that the people who wrote the stories, had for the most part lived the life they wrote about, and were not generally simply writers. It wasn’t information at second hand. We still await after three years of presenting RUclips videos, someone to metaphorically put up their hand, and say “I have written a short story, poem, or short film script based on information from our videos. Though we know of two who, based on the information we gave them have written novels based on their family story.
We’ve had a good week, having guided an enthusiastic school group of eighty, round St. Peters Church Cooks River their museum, and graveyard and latterly Marrickville Heritage Society visited for much of the same, but with a lengthier talk and the 1880 Brinkley and Foster organ playing. We have open day, on the first Saturday of the month, 1.30- 4.30., guided tour by the Creator of the Videos.

Another well presented history of a suburb I live close to. The Bankstown area is quite large and rightly so has many sites such as the trotting, airport, drive-in (now closed), shopping area (which as a kid, thought it to be massive) and so much more.
Thank you, again and as NickP says, will be appreciated by people who love their country and the many suburbs they have lived in.

Welcome back Kevin, but I suspect you just have not gone away. As you will probably have gathered Arncliffe is still performing very well, but we are still as clueless as to why that should be. The same would be true of many others I might add. The number of subscribers we has quite dramatically increased and our number of viewers. I would like to see something similar, but different being done on another channel channel, such that we compliment on another.

We have left a long comment with Nick P., on this channel, which I hope you will read. We really do appreciate people like yourself who will view many of our videos, you are essential to our growth. I went through a time, when creating videos such that the suburb adjacent would also be viewed was the way to go. There may be a half truth there but recently we had a growth in numbers watching the Tempe video. Did more people also watch the neighbouring suburbs of Sydenham and Tempe? All joined by the Princes Highway and at one time all under the same St. Peters Council and sharing a post code. The answer is in the negative? Truly appreciate your comment. Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

No prizes I’m afraid, but welcome aboard. We don’t need to know whether you are a resident of Bankstown or were formerly a resident, but we are more than pleased when our viewers tell us their story of an area they know. Our recent information from RUclips Analytics points to a certain time into the video, where viewers show more interest. With many of them this occurs between the years1900 till 1975. Our thoughts on this are that this is grandfather and father life span, with grandchild viewing. Do think about what suburb you might like to suggest to us. The challenge for us as our channel grows is to find suburbs which have some sort of early history but then at the time already mention grow into something of interest. Our biggest challenge may well be parts of the North Shore where orchards have rapidly turned into suburbia and there appears to be no substantially story. Good to see your enthusiasm. Thank you.
