@@JorbLovesGear same as you, i use 2 mono synths (The other one being a doepfer dark energy 1) and alternate between them for leads and bass. It isnt very intuitive but it has very interesting capabilities at least for a synth of its time, i think it does gravitate around a pro 1 hidden in that interesting yellow case. Most of the factory presets are mediocre, some are pretty good but they dont really do justice to what the synth can do. I found the best you can do with it is just make a basic preset and start from there everytime, i usually play the keyboard or sequence it with external gear or daw but the 4 channel sequencer routings can give you very interesting modular-esque sequences.
@@luismanuelhernandezllamosa5114 i specially hate the sequencer, but thinking about what you comment, the modularesquish sounding possibilities, you intrigued me. Btw im spanish.
Yeesh, I'm going to have to sit down and set up a bunch of patches, maybe with the software editor. The module version is a cool form factor, but I would always want more panel control
A walk through on programming the mopho’s sequencer from the panel would be a topic of interest.... I have a feeling there is much more to get out of this instrument that’s just hidden behind the learning curve. You seem to be just the person that might be able significantly shorten that learning curve.....
I love gear too. I picked up a bargain Mopho X4 last year. The Prophet 08 patch bank has some amazing patches, however this one didn't last long for me. The filter just felt weak in contrast to my other analogues, so it wasn't getting any love. Not sure how it compares to the mono Mopho?
@@JorbLovesGear i will be so stupidly pleased to see that. I love that piece of gear I own. But id love even more is knowing much more than i know. I'll be waiting bro ;)
Subbed when Nick appeared! Laughed so hard :D Great demo!
One of my favorite jokes tbh🙏🙏
One of my favorites in my synth collection, congrats on getting this underrated but powerful machine.
Happy to hear that! I really think it is underrated, I've been real impressed so far.
What does yours get used for?

@@marcosrotllan The sequencer is the greatest pain of this synth.
I bet that 4 Channel Sequencer is meant to go perfect with the DSI Tetra4.
Big sounds and i see it more capable than most mono synths from it’s time. I have use to have the desktop version but soundscaping was a true pain

Cheers! I might have to make a point of bringing attention to the mopho, i agree that it deserves it....wonder if the audience is there, though
Please do
The manual is very excellent if you haven't already given it a read.
Those first few patch slots seem like whomever programmed them took some Ayahuasca and listened to a lot of Throbbing Gristle.

The morpho x4 sounds exactly like the mopho and the tetra. I’ve owned all of them and still have the x4.
you should do the tantalum capacitor mod, its super simple and cleans up the squarewaves heaps
I'm not familiar! Could you send me some resources?
@@JorbLovesGear i just got another keyboard this week and did the mod and the difference is huge
@@coskunone found some reference to it on line, maybe I'll do a video about it!
@@JorbLovesGear yeah I'm surprised there is not a video already!
I like my square waves like I like my women, dirty.
Id love to see some tricks with that beast
It will get its own demo / walkthrough eventually! "Dave Smiths Forgotten mono" or something.
