Anxiety and fears can be completely irrational. Even if a man believes that a child is theirs, the moment someone says otherwise, it creates a seed of doubt. OP doesn't understand: Once a thought is in your head, you can't just will it to be erased.
Her indignation that her husband would "dare" to have doubts is honestly just unrealistic expectation.
Should she have had to prove herself? In an ideal world, no. In an ideal world, your spouse has complete blind faith with never a doubt.
But in the real world, where spouses are betrayed on the regular, it's not unreasonable for a doubt to arise from a situation like this. And addressing those doubts before they fester is the better path, rather than letting things fester while nursing your indignation about having your faithfulness questioned.
Trust sometimes needs to be verified.

He kept refusing saying he didn't need a paternity test but it was causing his wife problems so in the end he had one. No he should have left her for refusing to take the test, because her sister put them both on the spot and no sane person would respect him if she didn't take the test. In the UK till they banned it over 50% of the paternity DNA test was showing the kid wasn't the father's and in France it's even illegal for a guy to challenge it, this alone tells most guys if a woman don't take the test then most likely she fears the confrontation of it's results.
Women should also want the test too, there is a documentary somewhere on youtube where this evil paternity ward nurse intentionally switched up people's children (her target was namely black people with twins) when the hospital found out they initially attempted to hide it till one of the parents sued and revealed it over the five years the nurse worked there with over 100+ victims.
DNA test is insurance for any guy, cheating women are already immoral and have zero problems lying as long as someone else pays the bill, cut the middle man from the deal asap and have all children get tested asap (some can be done before birth) so creatures like this "Rachel" gets exposed and vanquish their lies immediately so they can't keep doing damage by immediately destroying her credibility.
