This painting is so very lovely❤ May I ask are you painting on bristle board ? Do you prefer smooth vs watercolor paper? I used to paint with acrylics, but have spent the last 15yrs trying to teach myself watercolor 🫣 watching you paint with the gouache is very inspiring. I bought a small ( 48) color set of the HIMI gouache, and have been stuck where to start...,wondering why I thought I need to branch out with yet another medium😆 but again watching you got me fired up. I will definitely be looking at more of your video's for motivation and inspiration. Thank you🥰😍I love what you did❤

Gouache uses less water than watercolor, so you have more flexibility with paper types. However, watercolor paper works great with gouache too. I personally prefer hot-pressed watercolor paper for its ability to capture more detail. If you've painted with acrylics before, I’m sure you’ll find gouache manageable since the two mediums are quite similar, though acrylics are more opaque and gouache dries faster. Hello! 😊 For this piece, I'm actually not using watercolor paper. It's 180gsm sketch paper, but it has a fine texture that I think is quite close to hot pressed paper. Thanks for asking! ❤
