Bless your heart. God's family will take adopt you... He is a father of the fatherless. I came from a broken family and God took me in. :-) Now I have hundreds+ brothers and sisters!
That's me, exactly. Keep thinking it's odd how comfortable they are with each other. I'm going wait........they're family.............and they obviously care about each other and are comfortable with each other. I wonder what that's like.
The Franz family band was really good a decade ago. It is sad that they had to move on with new families of their own. I can see why playing in your band appeals to Emmett. You are so much like the family band of his childhood. He was a great addition to your group.
what I like most about these talented people is that they keep it simple and don't try to give life lessons. Whether you're a believer or not, their music is a cure for everything.
Emmett...that lobsterman that took you out on his boat in Port Clyde, Maine is my dad’s cousin, Dougie Anderson. My folks and I saw your family several times at Camp Washington and some churches around the Saint George/Owl’s Head area. When looking for music from your family recently I found the Petersen family. Enjoy the beautiful voices and especially bluegrass/gospel songs.
Legend has it that Emmett once asked his music teacher: "Do you think it might be a good idea if I took up a string instrument?" To which his teacher replied: "Yes I do, bro!"
Robert K The way he plays that dobro ‘tho, bro! Possibly poor attempt at humor but I am sincere he really can’t play. Loving this family and loving their love
Hello! I'm a fan of you, here in Bragança Paulista, SP, Brazil. You spend a lot of soul sincerity in your songs ... Hugs, Nilton Bustamante (writer and poet)
I just stumbled onto your post of your cover of John Denver's song "Country Roads" and low and behold it led to watching many of your performances and even finding Michael Haywood's songs. A good stumble I would think. I live in Thailand and the only way to keep up with US and Texas news is on the computer. May God continue to bless all of your families and keep you safe in these troubled times!
Matt, it's impossible if someone doesn't like you it's because they don't like themselves. I am very impressed with your person - you play the guitar great, you have a beautiful voice, stunning appearance and a wonderful sense of humor :))) Keep it up! :) You All are amazzing - cordially Greetings!:)
I'm in Seattle, and love that Emmett loved Olympic National Park...come back any time. You guys are awesome. I love your music, and your chats. Thank you!!!
Jim, from the USA, I had a lot of time the past year or so. Not a social media fan but I was exploring for guitar ideas and I discovered you. I like your music and your Christian witness. The parts of your life that you share bring your audience closer to you. I like this sort of impromptu extemporaneous “breakfast”. Your music permeates the soul. You look so young but I suppose it is because you are. Make hay while the sun shines. Time really flies. Thank you.
I was wondering why Ellen hadn't been playing the banjo for a while too, glad someone asked! Gotta say the duet ...That's Important to Me....you did on the porch was very beautiful, it had so much feeling. My guess was correct with the 5 string violin too about having a wider range. I'd never seen one.
I agree with Emmet; the temperate rain forest in the Olympic Nat. Park and Olympic Nat. Forest was one of the 2 places I thought of for that question (Niagara Falls was the other). Walking the trails there is otherworldly, like a Jim Hensen set.
I got all excited that I missed an update again…. Dang thus is pre Macy, maybe pre Mr. Haygood! Certainly pre Matt and the moustache. But… I so adore and admire y’all… I think i will watch any!
Katie, when I worked for a master luthier, he told me the difference between a violin and a fiddle is that a fiddle has a flatter fingerboard radius to facilitate double stops.
Emmett how does it feel being the little brother of one family but being the big brother of another family it's pretty good feeling isn't it I'm almost jealous but I don't think I would want to be in your shoes because you are a performer and you have to help make things right God bless you and God always be with you
Missed this live-stream because of our Sabbath here, across the seas. Hopefully, I'll catch one of these live-streams and interact with you. Blessings to you all.
You need to use bread flour, and prewarm your dish before proofing the dough after you cut it into 1-inch segments. The bread flour makes a far better dough, when rolling it out don't worry too much about the number of swirls you have just make sure that everything is wrapped right and is equal. and then after placing them into the dish wrap the dish with plastic to keep the moisture in, put it into the oven that should be warm from heating the dish up, you don't want it too hot just like slightly warmer than room temp, and proof for 30-45 minutes, you have to make absolutely sure you do not over cook them.
Watching these amazing kids interact (I’m 62, let me lovingly call them “kids”) it’s so refreshing and fun. They’re extremely intelligent and eloquent, but also goofy and hilarious 😆 Matt’s so funny without wanting to be funny. Also, when I watch Katie’s and Emmett’s duets, and Utube concerts, I find myself feeling like I’m watching a Jane Austen movie, where we, the viewers, are rooting for the main characters to fall in love 🥰

Egg and spoon race used to be a part of our sports day in primary school here in the "UK" where you had a tennis ball "representing an egg" and the idea was to get to the finish line first......if your egg fell off the spoon you'd have to stop and pick it up.......you'd also have to have your hand "which wasn't holding the spoon" behind your back. Hope this helps Matt.
Ellen you look like a real Disney princess especially Elsa off frozen but you've probably been told that so much times sooo do you wanna build a snowman oh nevermind just Let it go hahaha
I thought when Katie saw smoke coming out of the nice Kitchen Aid mixer her grandmother gave her, she was joking. That must've been some mighty thick dough! If it makes you feel any better, my wife tells me cinnamon rolls are not that easy to bake because of all the sugar and cinnamon in them. The tendency is to overbake them. That's true of most cooking, too. She says if you want to bring out the flavor, you have to undercook, especially meats, and let the meat rest afterwards.
I've enjoyed each and every one of you in this conversation it's been humorous it's been pleasant but Emmett you're the man hanging there buddy we love you we love your talent and we love your background
Michael from Calgary (Alberta CANADA) Cant say enough about the music a the music and faith you hold on to and project ! Katie is a "STAR"...... the most beautiful, wonderful and intriguing person I have ever meet on youtube. She cooks, sings, plays violin and laughs, not to mention her eyes just talk. Simply put she is "Beautiful" Thank you mother ( ..and Father lol) for having her......Katie for you I would make you a coffee everyday..!!!!
Kate even world class bakers and chefs make things that do not always turn out. Pancakes are like kryptonite for me one turns out great and next is so so then great again..... I was once at a friends house and his step mother made pizza...The crust was as tough as shoe leather. I tried to keep eating it and she insisted I stop because it was that bad. LOL We all laughed and we still had a great time! I would say this if you are using all purpose flour I would never think that more gluten is needed. God Bless!
Recently discovered you because of collaboration with Reina del Cid. Although I remember Ellen on American Idol and thought she was a million times more talented than clueless judge J Lo. I guess you've been asked to do "The Chain" by Fleetwood mac" already? :) But more important - would you take the challenge to do a song in another language? I have some idea for you... And most important - great job guys! Keep up :)
Speaking from experience, the actual temperature in your oven may not be what it says on the dial. Ours was about 75 degrees hotter inside! I finally realized it when I measured it. You can of course, as you say, just use steak knives on the cinnamon rolls :)
A house full of talent, right there. Only got to watch a few minutes live. Got a question: I’ve seen videos featuring each of the three girls, and even Emmett, but I’ve never seen one specifically featuring Matt’s wonderful guitar talent. Is there one that I’ve somehow missed?
wayne lewis “That’s important to me.” He’s also underrated, very clean work. Chord transitions are perfect. Great voice. You’re so right on the talent. Still hard to believe.
Good Morning Petersons; It is an honour to see you eating table, it is cosy and Coco also likes it, she is standing in front of the window and giggle something, I will like it when I see you again, from this side I wish good health and a pleasant day, greetings from Hein.
Given her vocal talents, including yodeling, I guarantee if Ellen wants to diversify her playing and give the clawhammer technique a try again she can do it. I've had to change my technique playing guitar enough to know it just takes repetition and I am not nearly as talented as she is.

Love the chemistry of this family. This is how family should be.
Well, two of them have degrees in chemistry, so it's no wonder ;-)

Hi..,by us /in Slovakia Mid.Europe/dobro means good.!.And Emmetts dobro is very good.!!
What I'd like to know, is there anything between Katie and Emmett. You know chemistry.
I suspect there is more than anybody is saying on this matter,it wouldn't surprise me at all if they announced their engagement
Aw! I love that you guys have Emmett there this time!
Emmet is very quiet. However his dobro playing is brilliant.
In czech language "dobro" means "goodness".
Hi my friend's I love singing going to the world good job good job Katie
Your band needs to do a New England tour in the fall during the country fairs, people would love you people, good wholesome music !!!

Lil' cinnamon stones, it seems. ;-D But judging from the video, they seem edible.
I agree with Emmet; the temperate rain forest in the Olympic Nat. Park and Olympic Nat. Forest was one of the 2 places I thought of for that question (Niagara Falls was the other). Walking the trails there is otherworldly, like a Jim Hensen set.
Banjo is awesome! It's like the bluegrass equivalent of a rock n' roll/metal lead guitar. 😎
I got all excited that I missed an update again…. Dang thus is pre Macy, maybe pre Mr. Haygood! Certainly pre Matt and the moustache. But… I so adore and admire y’all… I think i will watch any!
Thank you very much for sharing your table and your happines with others.Dear Family
They cinnamon rolls look good. I had a lot of fun listening to you all, take care! 🤗
LOL!! Watch Emmett's face when he takes that first bite of those cinnamon rolls.
hahahaha Poor Katie. I'd eat her cinnamon rolls anytime
Too funny
Thank you for entertaining us so! You're wonderful!
Reviewing your work I like the spirituals most of all. They have a simplicity that's very moving.
I agree ❤️
Katie, when I worked for a master luthier, he told me the difference between a violin and a fiddle is that a fiddle has a flatter fingerboard radius to facilitate double stops.
Anybody else surprised to see Matt drinking moonshine that early in the day?
moonshine is hooch
My first thought.
No, not really
Emmett how does it feel being the little brother of one family but being the big brother of another family it's pretty good feeling isn't it I'm almost jealous but I don't think I would want to be in your shoes because you are a performer and you have to help make things right God bless you and God always be with you

Those cinnamon rolls looks tasty. And Katie is as beautiful as ever.
You should do another one of these, with everyone! .....I’m sure the cinnamon rocks-rolls have improved....God Bless!
I love you so much, Katie.
Hello from Russia !! A/m bed understand english ! But i,m lover bluegrass music ! We simply the BEST !!!!
Last question....What is the difference between Katie's cinnamon rolls and edible cinnamon rolls?
Emmet is good in the band.
Beautiful family.
I've enjoyed each and every one of you in this conversation it's been humorous it's been pleasant but Emmett you're the man hanging there buddy we love you we love your talent and we love your background
I'm not a religious person, but some of my favorite songs are religious songs from bands like The Petersen's, Gentri, etc.
Why did Ellen take up the banjo?
Because the guitar has too many strings attached!
Michael from Calgary (Alberta CANADA) Cant say enough about the music a the music and faith you hold on to and project ! Came across your music a few weeks ago - Cant seem to get get a couple songs out of my mind since then , Those being High sierra & No Roots. Keep up the great work . God Bless !

I love watching this Q&A soooo lovely beautiful ladies....
I’m convinced Americans don’t know how to use a knife and fork after watching Matt make a real hash of it. Great band though!
Your confusion at the suggestion of an egg and spoon race 😭😂
Maybe it's just a British thing?! Matt almost got the idea, Katie's guess was a bit off
Katie is a "STAR"...... the most beautiful, wonderful and intriguing person I have ever meet on youtube. She cooks, sings, plays violin and laughs, not to mention her eyes just talk. Simply put she is "Beautiful" Thank you mother ( ..and Father lol) for having her......Katie for you I would make you a coffee everyday..!!!!
Are you guys going to tour in the UK? Come to Wales you'll love it. I'll be your biggest fan.
Violins have strings
And fiddles have strangs
EMMETT AND KATIE FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Kate even world class bakers and chefs make things that do not always turn out. Pancakes are like kryptonite for me one turns out great and next is so so then great again..... I was once at a friends house and his step mother made pizza...The crust was as tough as shoe leather. I tried to keep eating it and she insisted I stop because it was that bad. LOL We all laughed and we still had a great time! I would say this if you are using all purpose flour I would never think that more gluten is needed. God Bless!
Just as a comment to the banjo question/answer, I really liked seeing Ellen playing guitar.
Hi, guys. Kind regards from Guadalajara, México. I love your music. Jesus bless you
Ya los ha bendecido. ¿Qué duda cabe? Un saludo desde España.
Ellen does an amazing job w/ "Blue" song.
That's my favorite song sung by Ellen.
Guys please do something Neil young related, it would be awesome, "old man" would be superb sang by all of you.

Soy latina nose english pero si se que esta familia canta increíble
Would love to hear Ellen and her husband do a cover of "Don't Touch Me' performed by Holly Pitney and her brother Mo Pitney.
Does Emmit play banjo
Just wanted to let you know that I never really liked Bluegrass until y'all came along!!

Is that Katie's ukulele on the wall ? The one she uses in the Ring song. Thanks for inviting us to breakfast!
Can we please have the recipe for the cinnamon rolls?
Good morning. After this virus thing is over I hope to get to Branson to your show. I love your videos.
Hello Katie, Ellen, Matt, and the guy next to katie
And some 12 strings require a stronger left hand to properly sound the chord or note. btw I miss little sister's face in the morning.
Good Morning Petersons; It is an honour to see you eating table, it is cosy and Coco also likes it, she is standing in front of the window and giggle something, I will like it when I see you again, from this side I wish good health and a pleasant day, greetings from Hein.
Saludos de Barcelona ❣
Wow I want some cinnamon buns😋
Thanks for inviting us to the table 👍😂
Drummers can drive you nuts they never stop drumming in one form or another.

60s Autumn to May P, P&M
Given her vocal talents, including yodeling, I guarantee if Ellen wants to diversify her playing and give the clawhammer technique a try again she can do it. I've had to change my technique playing guitar enough to know it just takes repetition and I am not nearly as talented as she is.
WHEN IS THE NEXT LIVE Q&A IN 2020?
Yes, When? Now that your show has reopened.
You all are very good, sorry I missed the live stream
New songs New songs!
Jackhammer might work better for those homemade cinnamon rolls...as the knife doesn't appear to be doing the job! 😂
So sorry I missed this. I wanted to know how you all learned to sing harmonies!
