I'm always friendly in Sea of Thieves, no matter the circumstances. I even once found a player trying to betray me by putting a megakeg on my ship, but I stopped him and kegged his own ship. I then saved it asking for explanation. He just gave me all of his pineapples and left (his vc was propably off, because he didn't respond). All of that just because I prefer meeting new people and getting betrayed than betraying someone and getting gold. Only moment I've betrayeda crew is when I was on a galleon with random people I met in-game. There was a sloop of obviously new players on them. As it turned out they were Polish (I'm Polish aswell), so I got on their ship and absolutely dismanteled the three-manned galleon while screaming "POLSKA GUROM"
I like to be friendly but i don't think that betraying someone is that bad , after all the game`s name is sea of thieves and also this aspect of the game is so fun and ads to the vibe of the game @@Cole_Cross

Like wow good job you play this game like a job on a schedule everyday meanwhile most players are lucky to be able to squeeze a full play session with all the setup required in this game; gathering supplies & cooking food, sailing to and solving voyages, stacking loot and then sailing back to sell. Not counting the time for fights etc which easily drags things on for 30mins - hours plus on top of everything else. Just to lose it all in seconds to some shithead who really doesn't care about the loot, has everything you've desperately been saving for for several sessions, and just enjoys messing with people for content clips. Then you have all the little "tricks" they only know after 500hrs that most players have no hope of catching up to the curve on. Lunges dashes doublegun cheese animation cancels macros exploits etc. You're expected to watch Blurbs PVP videos about this shit like it's homework if you want to have a fighting chance. Experienced players gatekeep and defend this absolute garbage meta under the guise of "freedom of choice" and "tools not rules". Yeah freedom of choice to either copy streamers and doublegun or just take Ls and waste limited play time. And again, most people have 2-3 hours tops not 6 hours or more every day to stack 5 forts and rebound from multiple sinkings, So when you sink an average working Joe as he's going to turn in at the end of his session that's it for that guy, whole session in the trash. Probably not enough free time to get it all back again even if they wanted to. That further drives down any level of player retention with newer players who came to this game thinking it was a mostly chill swashbuckling pirate adventure game with a somewhat competitive side, and instead got a fully competitive very meta version of CS GO on a boat. These average players (many of us have been here since beta too) who end up just walking away from the game after being told to just "git gud" or "that's how the game is" never bother to post and have their voice heard, so these autists speak loudly for the game even though they are a minority. Well okay then, these autists can play in their sandbox all by themselves then, hence the dropping player base. Then these content creators turn around and make videos bitching about content delays and speculating about why the games monthly player numbers are dropping steadily. Like bro people dont want to play this game because of these sweatlords in question, who seem to drive the general SOT community discussions and make up a large amount of the content creators for it.

I was at a fof and a solo sloop and brig showed up. We made one big alliance. Each time the sky went black I went each ship to anchor them. I positioned my boat at the back of the island and waited for the fort to finish. They blew the kegs and ended up killing a few people on accident. As the others went for the revive I snuck out with the chest of fortune! They started shooting at my boat when they realized what had happened. By the time they lifted the anchor and came my way I had sold the chest already! So much fun!
I don’t know man, I don’t like these betraying videos, cause a lot of the people are swabbies and are really nice and you sink them over some ghost treasure. I myself like to protect swabbies because they are the foundation of the game. I know the game is called Sea of Thieves but sinking players that are way under your skilllevel is making them quit and doing that will shrink the playerbase
I definitely can understand that but I also feel like it’s good to have people like Sigy and all of the other high level people in the game that do this. As a new player myself I think if I was to have encounters with people like Sigy more often (the high level non toxic toxic pirates) I wouldn’t mind being sunk or betrayed because it’s all in good fun and the name of the game. I think once people start not taking loot so seriously (which is what I was doing when I started) then moments like this are more enjoyable for everyone involved! I quit a long time ago because a galleon crew (I think a really good twitch streamer at the time) killed us and just used our ship and theirs also and kept spawnkilling us when we were new. He would laugh and tell us to off ourselves and that we were xbox players and we were the worst anyways and that we were poor. We scuttled 3 times and each time he would hunt my ship down that was also a galleon with Randoms on it. That was the last time I played. Great game though!

I was just playing Sea of Thieves today, and there were 2 idiots in my crew thinking they were smart by going to attack an red skull event, ofc we did destroy the opposing team, but they were only sitting in their boat while i was kind of literally doing everything by myself, after I destroyed the ship and the event all by myself, they didnt even hesitate to help me get the loot onboard, after i asked them to go sell the loot the ofc " Aye! " popped up from both guys, instead of going to the port merrick they gone past it and gone straight to the ghost ship event, after i cursed them many times to go back as so they didnt, i threw all the loot out and said that next time they should listen to the guy that has more braincells than the 6 year old kids that were playing that day :)

i was the 52-54th betrayal😂 in this vid lol he sliced me off the rowboat on the way to the veil we came back sunk the ship he was fighting then i knew he had and athena so after he sunk us we went back and found him at theives haven and i snuck onto his ship for the map bundle and tryed to take it because i knew he probably buried the chest of legends by i think he sold then sever hopped because we were checking the server for hours to get the chest of legends

The suspected hacker was definitely hacking. Very bad movement and storing kegs in crows nest is noob behaviour, then having PERFECT cannon and sniper aim initially just doesn't add up. No one is that good AND that bad at the same time.
