To put this simply, in this MV king is his past self. The other one is his present self. So he shot his past self. "Daechwita" is a genre of Korean traditional military music.
He also produces/writes a lot of songs for BTS as well as for other top artists.

Most Yoongi's songs are very deep and personal, he covers absolutely different topics from mental health to politics, he maybe has 2-3 simple diss tracks, but the rest is deep stuff. And Daechwita is deep too😉
Good analysis! The butcher at the mkt was the executioner and when poor Suga nodded at him in the mkt, they made an agreement to kill the king. There is a behind-the-scenes video of the making of this video, of Suga learning the sword dance (very cool), and videos that explain the culture of Korea that are represented in this video. The title of the video is the song that would be sung whenever the king was out in public. I’ve heard 2 theories about this video. 1) Poor Suga is the real person he wants to be, rather than just a superstar that is full of himself and people basically bow down to. He doesn’t want to be that kind of person so he kills him. 2) The king represents the big Korean music companies that tried to destroy him (and BTS) so he takes them down. One thing I adore about BTS is how unapologetically Korean they are and how their influence helps spread their country's culture around the world 😊 they popularized wearing modern hanbok (traditional Korean clothes), they use folklore and history elements in their mvs and set designs, they utilize beats and melodies from Korean folk music, they incorporate movements from Korean traditional dancing into their choreography, they spike interest to Korean authors, musicians, creators and businesses by mentioning or recommending them to Armys (many things get sold out immediately lol), they have advertising deals with Korean brands and promote a lot of affordable products instead of luxury goods etc etc. It's so exciting to explore with them :)
Whoa I'm so impressed with how much you caught in just one watch! Jin (and JK) in the background, the butcher & the executioner being the same guy, and the fact that he's playing two versions of himself. I always thought that the blond agust d in this video is a direct reference to his first mixtape-self when he had blond hair (daechwita's length is 4 years worth of growth) and what that agust d could become if given free reign and all the power he has now. But the dark haired agust d is the person he describes in his quiet verse with the blindfold on, the person he is now and who wants to anchor himself and be satisfied with what he has and who he is, without the greed and arrogance to have to prove himself. Jin was there, you are right, and the guy he is fighting with is Jungkook. There's a good behind the scenes on this mv which you might like. Also, the King represents the old, arrogant, maybe more aggressive and insecure Yoongi, who is killed off by the newer more confident, self-assured and mature version of himself.

'Daechwita' is a music that was played to announce the arrival of the King and/or the Army.
And yes it was Jin and Jungkook fighting in the back, we can see them in the behind the scene (all of their MVs have bts).
It really does look like a movie, the set is actually used as an outdoor film set.
Agust D is 'suga' backward and 'DT' is for Daegu Town, his hometown.
One thing I find so interesting is if u listen to his first mix tape he talks about becoming a monster and falling into the greed and want of being famous..... And this is almost a visual representation of him coming out of it. You have the 'mad' King and then like the lower down person almost like the version of himself when he was poor and desperate to succeed, but that original part of himself overcame to greedy King side. His albums connect which is just sooo cool
Good job on spotting Jin and spotting the butcher! In old Korea butchers also served as executioners because of their skills, but this gruesome duty also made them untouchable (lower class). The present Agust D (another great catch on your part!) wears a pendant with a mask. This mask is from traditional Korean theatre performances and guess who it symbolizes? The untouchables! This attention to detail is what makes BTS stand out so much. The whole historic setting was Suga's idea as well ;)
As for a million requests , different people will come to your comments with different requests and opinions. Form a plan and come to conclusions yourself cause many will say big words like "underrated" etc. As for music outside BTS, all the members have their own works, to really feel how unique they are as a group you might find it interesting to check out their independent works - rapline has multiple mixtapes and vocal line songs and covers (BTS Soundcoud is a treasure trove!) we have several mixtapes to look forward to this year as well, which is super exciting!

Yes they are so supportive of each other. When it comes to their solo work they are still able to go to each other for help when they need it. Just from listening to them talk about behind the scenes things many of them go to RM when you are stuck especially when itcomes to lyrics or if they want someone to look over their stuff. I live their relationship as friends and as a team.
I think if you want to get to know them on more of a personal level some of the best things to watch is their docu-series Burn the Stage, and Break the Silence. Also, their shows Run BTS, Bon Voyage, and BTS in the Soop. I know it is a lot but you don't have to react to everything. Out of those things Run BTS is the only one you can post on RUclips.
Another good one you can post on RUclips is The Rise of Bangtan. This one is fan made but is very well done and starts from the beginning juat before they debuted. I am just starting this series and can't remember how many episodes there are. But it worth looking into. Sorry for the overload of info.

@@mochiwithjiminjam I have only seen the first 2 episodes so far and I am amazed at how well it is put together. It makes me want to watch all of their vlogs from here start (which I am sure will take a long time to watch). But hearing their thoughts when they first started is so interesting and can be sad as well, when they are talking about their struggles. But I am enjoying it. I just started listening to BTS in the middle of last year, but have known about them for 2 yrs. That is when my daughter started listening to them. I liked the songs she would listen to but never took the time to really listen to them til just last year and now I am obsessed..haha i don't get how anybody could hate on them. They do so much good for people all over the world. I hope they win that Grammy this year!

there's an interview with Suga about the shooting of this vid....you might enjoy that. Agust D is a beast, pure and simple. You're one of only two reactors I've ever seen notice the executioner is the same guy from the market...Suga always says that he doesn't call specific people out in his songs, but if you feel like it's about you, then that's your problem. Daechwita is the music they traditionally play (with traditional instruments) when the king would be passing thru or the military was coming thru. BTW, Suga is actually descended from royal Korean bloodlines.

I think the music video portrays a bad king (you know, the one who's on top that he become too proud) and a normal person in oneself. Cuz when you reach success people tend to think highly of themselves that they forgot where they come from. And fighting you own demons to stay humble, kind, and true to your self. And also, Jungkook was there too. :)

Army also calls him little meow meow. lol =0p Suga was playing the greedy king and the peasant. Suga was playing both at the end I think they did a cut or something digitally to have them in the same space. I am really very surprised your so observant. Yu spotted a lot of important clues. This vid told a story. many of the songs and albums have themes. And the solo stuff is connected. I think you would enjoy the BU universe though it will be a total brain reset.
