Honestly we should thank the old Vietnamese guy for the coffee and thank ilwoo for introducing it to the world...this show is my fav cuz of how many food they introduce
It isn't fair that they're not recognised and i see ppl saying it originated from other places
Not Vietnam. Macau.
Actually dalgona in korea is not usually known as coffee. It is a candy that a lot of kids love and they even have a game for it.
Yeah. TBH I first heard it on TROS with Park Naeun and Gunhoo. Like they showed all sorts dalgona candy. And their dad played a game and got her a turtle shaped candy so I was really surprise to see it as a drink.
Nahh... I've seen one youtuber shown a candy at korean street food. At first i don't know until i read the comments about that candy.
They saying dalgona coffee came from their country when the "Dalgona" is a traditional korean candy. Thats why it called dalgona coffee cos it have same color and consistency when the candy is not still hard...
Nope, dalgona coffee comes from taiwan. You can see it from this program when jung il woo moment comes to taiwan
@@fin8362 yes from taiwan, il woo just said that the coffee taste like korean traditional candy
@@fin8362 not Taiwan its from the Middle East and even in parts like India and Pakistan.. it made its way to Taiwan much after it was discovered in those regions
Il Woo went to Macau, not Taiwan ☺️
Ilwoo just associated the coffee to the “DALGONA” candy. But the coffee “style” existed before outside of korea. It is not originally korean. Please do research or travel.
Yall we know dalgona coffee is not from South Korea but it became a trend because of this show.
The trend first started in twitter among korean users when someone said "the coffee that i whipped 400 times" and then it got popular among korean community sites and RUclips and many korean idols started to do it. The word Dalgona is a very old Korean snack that every Korean has tried when they were young including me. This show just followed the trend
@@빵제니 but its first show up in this show few months ago from jung ilwoo trip to taiwan before the trend started
Macau :)
@@빵제니 this show on the earlier episode shows a breakfast stall in macau that whip their coffee 400 times. The panelist is amazed that it's like dalgona/ korea traditional sugar candy. The guess kang daniel promise to try make & upload on his sns. Not long it become a trend in korea, then spread worldwide.
This clip is from their latter episode, where another contestant try making dalgona coffee after it become a trend.
These show is the start of the trend indeed.
not its not
It took so long for her bc her little jar was so narrow. The reason for whipping it is to incorporate as much air as possible, and that’s hard to do when you have such little space like she did. When whipping anything its better to have a way bigger bowl than you need, that way more air can reach
I was definitely not expecting to see BTS just now 😂
We used to do that in the Marine Corp back in the 80's. We took our coffee and sugar packets that came in the field rations (c-rats/MRE's) little water and mixed them together and spread it on the pound cake. They called it "Ranger Pudding".
It has been really famous on TikTok! Others tried to say the trend came from Greece etc but I guess this is the origin
It's actually already existed in many places but become trending because of this show
no they arent wrong fully tbh. There is a recipe from greece too that is very similar to the korean dalgona coffee. So people might have be mistakened. Both recipes are very similar in terms of ingredients, how to make it
The trend first started in twitter among korean users when someone said "the coffee that i whipped 400 times" and then it got popular among korean community sites and RUclips and many korean idols started to do it. The word Dalgona is a very old Korean snack that every Koreans have tried when they were young including me.
From their perspective maybe because it was found out by their country however they wouldn’t know that the coffee was also made in other places like Greece and India. Same idea just different name
this has been a staple of libyan culture since even my grandmother was young! but koreans are the ones that transformed it into a trend
they shldnt say its from south korea lol when it originally comes from places like macau (where koreans first came across it) and countries in south asia.. i wonder if people who saw this trending actually know that it originated from there and not korea.. cos i have my friends who were trying it and telling me it originated from korea when actually its not lol.. its just that koreans somehow renamed it and the whole stay home situation with covid got ppl trying and trending it. it reminds me of how ppl were renaming agar agar as raindrop cake few years ago and trending it lol..tbh i personally dont think its nice to take sth you discover from another culture and rename it as tho its yours (regardless whether it trends or not)
Jung il woo should have channel introduce great food
It's good that he had his official yt channel now😍
It takes me 5 minutes to make it by hand. I would make it almost every morning. It really gives me the boost I need
This is so trueee dalgonaa coffee is stirring up the whole world😁
Oooh.... I'm loving the addition of vanilla ice cream and cinnamon!! 😋
Its really famous even in India.. I'm a big fan of Ilwoo oppa.. People are enjoying and trying it in this difficult Quarantine period by doing this simple coffee recipe.. It makes people forget the difficult quarantine phase.. I thank Fun-Staurant for this.. Hope you will upload the ep 39 and 40 soon... 😍
I trained my arm to make it. I'm not a coffee lover but I like it. The after taste tasted too bitter at first but I got addicted/started to like it afterwards. Normally the only coffee I consume is coffee flavored candy, frappe, and the glass bottles of Starbucks sold in grocery stores but I still rarely get those. Yes, as some of you may guessed, I have a child's taste bud.
I think the after taste may be because of the kind of instant coffee I used.
I did the same too and the results from a mixture vs your hands - your hand whisk is better than the mixture in this one haha but never again would I do it! Haha it was fun, to follow a trend 😆😆
I'll stick to americano since that amount of coffee would not give any effect on me 😔
Anisa Hna it taste like a lot more coffee compared to the usual Americano tho, I think (depends on recipe). Just that the taste of sugar covered the taste of coffee too much...
Are you sure?! To make americano, you only need about one sachet of coffee. But to make dalgano, so you can stir it you need at least 2 sachet. I made it 2 days ago, and my eyes still bright like a sun till 2 AM.
James Hoffman tried to convert the usual volumetric 2tbsp recipe to weight and found that it contained roughly 6-7g of instant coffee per serving. That's the equivalent of three standard cups of regular brew. :)
It is actually really concentrated, so the flavor is really strong and delicious😊
americano is just a deluted esspresso shot
Can we applaud the fact that they didn't use BTS as click bait?? 👏👏👏 Like that could have done since it was a clip and not an image or reference, like others shows do
When BTS and ARMY appears 💜
Other countries have something similar but I'm pretty sure they have been doing long before the creation of dalgona coffee.
ol this drink isn't even from South Korea a Korean guy saw it in Macau decided to call it dalgona because it reminded him of a Korean sweet in fact I think its originally from India and Pakistan and the Middle East -_-
you're correct it's originally called phenti hui or beaten coffee and it comes from india
Whats the point of getting mad just coz it became a trend in south korea?!
I love this coffee...and i love seeing bts in this video😁
Here's a good tip.
Put coffee, sugar, water on a mug. Stir it using a whisk like you're making a fire.(roll it on your hands)
100% faster than just stirring it non stop
how would Ilwoo feel :) watching his recreation being trend world wide??
he likes it quite a bit, posted it on his insta as well.
What's the yellow stuff on toris paws?? P🐾 🐾 🐾 🐾
From korea???? Can you just say THANKYOU TO MACAU MAN? AAAH
First time I drink this coffee 4 year ago and know it's trending😊😊😊
Actually the real dalgona in macau and the one that trending lil different, no? After watched those episode and somehow becomes trend I was like, oh did the man add that much milk? Is it the same dalgona on fun restaurant???
AFAIK the one in the Macao episode did not have any milk at all; the proprietor diluted the whipped coffee with water, then he added ice.
We have something like the Dalgona coffee in Greece...its called Frape...
Most stylish version of dalgona like at have have people high-end cafe
Lol I made dalgona coffee using a mixer and it worked out well.
I make it like everyday😂 It’s kinda an addiction at this point.
Was that Hong Jinyoung at the end?
Do it Ceramic to get it done faster otherwise we will be doing it for half an hour
Will Ilwoo be back? Does anyone know?😭😭
Why is he not in the show?
Have you made dalgona coffee?
Kbs editor: *I HAVE 😶*
In india dalgona coffee saved so many life during lockdown
Ima be honest, it’s not very good. It’s too thick. But if u add more water it would be less thick and more foamy which taste even better
I tried the coffee and its so tasty
But can i aks where is illwoo oppa anyway
BTS in 1:00
"I had to do it by hand"
"I guess you had to do it by hand"
Dalgona coffee is not from south korea... it's originally from india, it's called phenti hui
I don't get it. Why can't we do it with the mixer
Is foamy coffee Korean? It's not it's just because that actor had it on the show and it looked interesting , the Macau is the place that d coffee was made on the show
Actually I also make this after a day when I watch the episode and this post in my SNS then it became a trend! Among my friends I was the one who created it then. They said it was BTS but it was all thanks to ILWOO
I used to drink this,33 years ago.Still , my aunt is drinking like this.
Cute 💞💞💞
What is with the hard work haha.. I just twirl the wisk using my palm a few time then the dalgo a magic is happen....
Who's the girl with green square outfit there? New cast?
It works better if you go in zigzag motion rather than in circles 🙂
i believe im not the only who got no interest to make and/or try this. its basically latte but with frothy coffee instead of the milk. and tbh, im more curious on the taste of dalgona latte (latte with crushed dalgona)
nope you probably are. so what if it tastes like a normal iced latte? its about the journey and the effort. its pretty and it makes your proud geez.
I think you mean instead of espresso not instead of milk cause they still use milk in dalgona coffee
@@elliteequine3785 well I'm not interested too, not everyone just do things because it's trending
@@skztrophies I think he/she mean what she mean. The milk refers to the milk foam/froth on top of latte that is replaced with the coffee foam not the milk in the drink itself.
can anyone tell what’s the background music starting from 2:42 pls..
she should add more water n stir it , i use spoon , it work
It is not Korean !!! We do that in Middle East for years wtf
Brazil same. XD
Koreans..made it known to the other parts of the world...
Same in South Asia like india and pakistan. We call it phenti hui coffee in India
Yup, I like dalgona coffee. But I used mixer to make it easier and it worked 😂
Honestly it's just our plain old whipped coffee.
I tried it too the dalgona coffee because of il woo..
It doesn’t taste as good as it looks tho idk if it’s only my taste lol
I have seen dalgona coffee being made in Indian households since a very long time but it didn't had a name.
Thanks to Il Woo Oppa
Greek cafe frape?
dalgona affocato coffee
I made this when I was 7 and I still do when I need to relieve stress xd Im 20 now xddd
2:01 She didn't use water???
the dalgona coffee is actually from Macau
The word Dalgona is a korean traditional candy name.. Dal means sweet in Korean.
lol where ist macau? do you know what dalgona means?
dire raven so here is the whole story, making coffee this way was first invented by a coffee shop in Macau, in Chinese the coffee name is called 手打咖啡 which means hand whipped coffee, then some people in Korea found out this and started the trend of making coffee this way, because the color of the coffee form looks like dalgona candy in Korea, so the Koreans called it dalgona coffee. Hope this explained everything.
no its actually from middle eastern countries along with India and Pakistan
@@ninalang715 exactly ...Koreans and all just made it trend
BTS and ARMY are the best!💜💜💜
I tried making this once for a friend... I think I whisked it maybe less than 3 minutes tho... It wasn't that hard
koreans need to "blap blap" with the tongue for a minute before we can say if it tastes good or not
YEZZZ 4TH🤪💙
😋
I saw it on funstuarant and the next thing I know there was a trend. Did it start here? Daniel fans?
Karnga Riba more like ilwoo fans started it..seeing ilwoo make it make all want to do it too
she put too much water so it took longer time..the mixer will work better if she continue..
That cinnamon stick doesn’t do anything just sticking it like that only there for the looks
Everybody gotta love dalgona coffee but here I'm someone who cannot drink any coffee..wish I can taste that😢
You can switch coffee to a cocoa powder, which is more delicious 😋😋😋
@@hanna19180 aah I just saw on Instagram people trying other way..thanks✨
Didn't know Dalgona was of Korean origin! Looks delicious tho 😋
It's not korean ....it is just beaten coffee which was already made in countries like India, pakistan and Greece . Koreans just gave it the name and made it trend .
I've got the same hand mixer HAHAHA 😂
YESS IM 2ND
THIRDDDDD BRO
I have used to do this coffee 10ys till now by using electric Blender
