You would not believe how on point this reading is for me! Yesterday I removed a past lover from my socials, didn’t block him though. He texted almost immediately asking if he was blocked, I simply explained I didn’t think there was a need to be connected in that way anymore and he retaliated with - “Jesus, how old are you again?? Kids do stuff like that. Crazy” 😂 My immediate thought was to respond/defend but I just left it, this reading confirms it was the right thing to do. Thanks Gemma!

That was gaslighting. Good for you!!!! When my parents were ill and my sis hurt me by saying you're just a spinster with a budgie -- I was finishing a doctorate and had a minute to minute schedule with my mum so my Dad was ok time to forget all that .. I know I do go on but my sis introduced me to a guy who was the person from hell. I've never been stalked before or since but he was threatening my Dad. I always had a second job because unless you have tenure you don't make much as a university lecturer so when I said go to hell I knew he would show up at my place of work which was in a not great area in the city where I live. Calculated stealth; cop cars every second. And he was predictable; interrupted ... everything and I just met him outside. He started shouting you can F.,kok your books =fill in the blanks and was immediately arrested. I did put out a restraining order not for me but for my Dad. If this happens to anybody, don't let it go on take action it always gets worse. This is a safe space and we help each other. Perhaps your situation is not extreme but I've never blocked anyone or changed my number I can't be bothered, but if it escalates act immediately. I see the best in people but there is a realm where there is predator and prey which I have survived.

Today I realized that a pattern from my childhood had been repeating itself. I was forced to explain myself so often and if my parents didn't like what I said, they simply imposed their point of view on me. It was never about just letting things be as they were, drama was always forced into existence.
I don't want to live like that and fortunately I don't have to. But it's remarkable how long childhood patterns can lurk undetected (I'm 40+ now).
