I bought a 14E for$25 USD from a friend. It was in great shape, kept in the case for years. Of course I had to replace the light seals and the meter is broken but the lens is clear and the shutter works great. I'll love shooting with it.
Erm…. Just a heads ups for people that just got one, plz don’t try and clean the semi translucent mirror in the range finder this is what I did and the slivering came off :( maybe just use a good air blower and soft brush
I heard that the f/1.4 Lynx lens is popular converted for modern mirrorless cameras so I went on e_Bay to see and there is one shop that is selling a lot of Yashica lenses adapted to mostly Sony e-mount. They are taking a lot of old Yashicas off of the market, I assume, by ripping the lenses out of them. Most of the lenses they offer are the Electro f1.7 lenses. It sounds like they are making adaptors by 3-D printing them.
A couple of decades ago, I bought a Lynx based on its highly touted lens quality. it's shutter worked; its meter did not. I never liked the shinny chrome finish used by Yashica - looks cheap to me. It worked okay as a manual, fixed lens rangefinder, but is quite heavy for what you get and by comparison to others similarly equipped. Mine went into the collection; no idea if it still functions today. .
Hi, I have the Yashica Lynx 14 front lens assembly removed/unscrewed/separated from the shutter. I need to get deeper into the front lens assembly so i can remove and clean the back of the element directly behind the front element. The Yashica Lynx 14 Yashinon 45mm f/1.4 has 7elements in 5 groups. I'm hoping the front lens assembly has 3 groups. 1st group single element 2nd group single element 3rd group doublet Once the 1st group(single element) is removed, then how do i unscrew/separate the metal casing parts of the front lens assembly and remove the second group(single element) in order to clean it? Hope the above makes sense :) I really appreciate your help! On my Nikkor P-C Auto 105mm f/2.5 lens the middle part of the casing for the front lens assembly unscrewed allowing access to the inner lens elements( for fungus cleaning). The metal casing threaded parts were glued and i had to use a little solvent to soften the glue prior to seperating/unscrewing the metal casing. Hoping I can do the same with the Yashinon-DX 45mm f/1.4 Best Regards
I have this camera- I opened the battery compartment and it was corroded. Is the camera still usable? Could I put another battery in it? If not, could I still use the camera without it?
The mercury corrosion is not consistent with Yashica cameras but any camera with a coin cell battery in it, alkaline, mercury or otherwise. Your good news is that the camera is completely usable without the meter and in todays age you can simply even meter directly off your phone for a far more accurate reading. Your bigger issue is the camera either freezing up, or the shutter blades becoming oily due to not being used and the grease separating into the wrong spaces.
Great Video! Thank You For Posting! :) I own a Yashica Lynx 14 and need to clean the front lens assembly. There appears to be a small spot/dot of clear thread locker smack dab in the middle of the backside of the second lens element. The first lens element(very front lens element) is easy to remove, but i dont see how to unscrew the casing? in order to remove the second lens element for cleaning. Hoping that you have the answer i’m asking a favour of you to please let me know the solution? I’ve searched the web( many hours) for an exploded diagram without success.
The front lens group is installed as a unit, and normally when you turn the ring on the front element, the entire group threads out, like a Yashica Electro 35. clean the front element as much as possible, and the element behind it, making sure there is no finger oil on the glass, then put a drop of super glue inside the front ring, put in the front lens element, and put the ring back on tightly, wait for it to dry, then when you try to remove it again, the entire lens assembly should come out.

Hello, do you ship to India ? I have an ae-1 programme and a Yashica FX d, I’ve been looking for something a bit more complex and reliable. You see, good gear is hard to come by here.
Hello! I was planning to get a Konica Auto S1.6 for just 40$ and the seller said that it is sold as is. He did not list any info for it and haven’t considered if it is working or not. I just want to ask if the repairs for the camera will be easy, the camera is in good condition in the photo no dents or something but its the only photo of the front is shown. I need a peace of mind if i bought it as my gift for my birthday in Christmas if i ever encounter some problems. I hope you will see this. Thank you..
Just make sure the shutter works. If so, the camera can be used even if the meter does not work. I have some Konica videos showing how to clean up these cameras, the video on the S2 is the closest to the S 1.6.
The earlier ones are more clear, with just a gold cast. The later cameras like the Electro 35 series the glass is a little darker to increase focus patch contrast.
@@japanvintagecamera8869 I have a Lynx 14 (serial starts with L III) and the viewfinder seems to be darker/has a purplish tint. Trying to figure out if this is normal or if it needs to be cleaned.

Hi! Can you buy a cheap mic to improve a bit the audio quality?
A bit rude don’t you think?
