What a great idea. I know what you mean about the magnets creating a bump I do put tape over it which sometimes help to make it less noticeable but this is a much prettier way of doing it. Thank you again for sharing.
Great idea! I also recommend using 3mm black foam core instead of stacking card circles. It punches and die cuts easily and will give you the thickness you are looking for.
2/12/22: Well, goodness gracious, Clare, this is very cool and I'm definitely going to use this technique in my projects going forward. Thank you so much!
Hearing a glue described as "cheap and cheerful" brought on giggles and smiles...I definitely know what you mean. LOVE this technique for adding magnets!! The addition of a decorative, yet functional, element is such a great idea. Thanks for this tutorial. I will definitely change to this pretty technique. Love your video channel!
Love love love your creative sprit, and the beautiful items you make! Thank you for sharing with us all this great tip! Have a Blessed day! Hugs, from Louisiana!
Clare, thank you so very much for sharing this! I've been wanting to incorporate magnets into my projects and now, thanks to you and this great tutorial, I can give it a try! 😊
I really appreciate this video and information. I know this is an older video and I hope you read comments on them even when it is years later. I have a question also. As I am learning new paper crafts, I have always wondered why people use glue and just put in on in a squiggly motion and attach papers together. I feared that you'd be able to see or feel the the squiggly lines of glue through the paper when it dries. I have noticed after watching several of your videos that you spread your glue around. Can you tell me why you do that? I'm hoping the answer is for two reasons - one so that you get coverage on the entire sheet of paper or yardstick you are glueing down and secondly so that there are no lines.
I love this idea. My magnets will not attract through two layers of cardstock. I have tried several different kinds. I was hoping the ones you are using would work, but still no luck. I wanted them tiny and thin so they won't show much once they are covered. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I have a craft fair coming up next month.
Hi Lu, thanks for commenting. Your cardstock needs to be no thicker than 210gsm and the magnets need to have a pull of greater than 42N - the ones we sell are slightly stronger than that.
Hi Joyce, thanks for calling by and commenting. I use the magnets I sell on my website. Here's the link for you. Happy crafting :-) C www.mycreativespirit.co.uk/products/1mm-x-8mm-craft-magnets-pack-of-20
