***** "The Government" can abuse anything, but this tool is very, very weak. I have two credit cards in my pocket with RFID and there's another one in my Samsung phone. There are at least dozens of easier ways to track people. If you own a phone you are already carrying a device with a camera, microphone and position locator (even if it doesn't have GPS) which is constantly connected to network. RFID is not something to be scared of. It would be the absolute worst possible way for the government to get in your business.
Watching him unlock that lock the way that he did almost brought tears to my eyes. I've been a transhumanist for years and a lot of hope and passion feels like its just a pipe dream sometimes. It's refreshing to see not only other people that share your idles so vividly but also confirmation that all that hope hasn't gone to waste.
Anthony LaClair I'm with you all the way, sib. Biohacking may leave me torn between excitement and fear, but that's probably just an adrenal response. Either way, it's pretty cool, huh?
@panos77 Could we just keep the fears real, please. A lot of stuff can give you cancer (alcohol, meat, additives, ...), but sterile implants is not one of them.
I use my high frequency NFC compatible tag with Android devices and, as you can see in the talk, I have a Windows 7 laptop which I use with a low frequency tag.
Digital ID via Wetwear devices is the future, penetration of the skin not required. Having a means to ID yourself to secure your own stuff is a plus. And applying ID stripping to all BigData is also essential to privacy. We just aren't quite there yet.
This is years later, sorry, but for future people who find this, there are multiple different protocols, some of them would allow for that kind of attack, but they’re considered insecure. If you wanted to use it to lock your door you’d use a non-forgeable protocol.
Man, please understand that RFID is a very simple technology and by that I REALLY mean that is simple. For an example, a RFID card costs like 50 pennies, that's how simple it is. RFID only works with near (maybe 5 centimeters) so nobody is watching you
there are people born without any "super power" of any kind who are really helping others to live better lives. if you're bored try to look around more, just turn your head away from your phone for half an hour per day, for starting.
One question: How about the next step of human evolution is a growth in consiousness and truly acting from the heart, to honor existence, the Earth, the body, every human being, every animal and every plant, and not try to hack any of it, and not kill and act out of greed? This, to me, would be a much more favourable next step in human evolution.
I agree with you. Nicely said. But the way I see it, society is being misdirected down a road that will be very hard to get back to a heart conscious way of life. The Hive Mind (A.I.) will be that next layer that will be used to pull us further away from our subconscious mind, which essentially is the Creative Mind. The Conscious Mind will become Subconscious, whereas the Subconscious will then become the Ultra Subconscious Mind...forever locked in a mental prison. Today’s upside down society does not emphasize Individuality. Rather, it desires a more easily manageable group of human cattle who all think alike.
These chips aren't small things floating in your blood. they are rather large and you'll never not know where they are. If you want to look at something similar in the medical field you can look at birth control devices that get inserted under the skin in the arm and last for years. Body modification from inserting things under the skin and on top of the muscle layer has been around for decades. This is partially why he recommend piercers because that community is well aware of the practice of putting things under the skin and above the muscle layer.
As anyone that has a pet with a chip can attest, they cannot be tracked. It is only when they are scanned at the vets that the chip can be read as it has no battery or power source.
When the local dog catcher finds them they will look at a specific place for a chip. If they find a chip they can look them up in a database and find their owner's information.
if the chip just turns off all the ''blind ones'' who accepted to let it be placed, all that is left would be awareness. that would be the most positive conclusion of such chip imo, and yet im not a fan of that either.
Yeah the risk are too high for just some commodities, they will need to really, really, really, give better benefits, that just a bunch to our laziness, other than an ID or key. It sounds like the perfect bait for suckers to get themselves tracked over their laziness.
I really like this, I'm just not comfortable with the idea that it's in your body. Like it's to permanent, but if they ever make like a bandagechip or something I would buy that immediately
The things are permanent. You can very easily have it removed but you'll need a couple stitches. These chips don't bind to your body and can easily be found and removed. This is one thing the movies get right, small incision above the chip and you can easily pull it out.
Lol reading these comments. I like reading what people think though. I like RFID. maybe not to the point of cutting myself, but still. This guy is kind of an... extremist but the technology is still cool. For example, he turns on his Suzuki with the wave of his hand (ive watched his videos). I will probably invest soon in an rfid ring or maybe dogtag for things similar. Cool technology, id like to see where it goes. Opinions welcome :)

Not a very graceful speaker, but I can appreciate the direction of the technology. I've been on to the dangerous things website but sadly, not much information is offered as to what can be done with the chip once it's implanted, which is a little discouraging.
The forums he has on the website are more where you can find that stuff. To equate it, it'd be like going to HomeDepot and complaining that that lumber section doesn't really offer much in what you can do with the wood. You need to go to other websites for DIY projects.
I do not think there is enough metal in this to have any effect, the only thing that would happen would be that the data on the chip is probably destroyed, because of the magnetism.
If you are worried about the chip coming out of the body that isn't a major concern. There would need to be A LOT of force to get a glass rod to trip through the skin. Metal in the skin is sharp and can be pulled out of the body pretty easily which is why lose metal in the body is a big issue. Think of a soldier who took shrapnel blast and some metal was just left behind because it was too small to get all of it.
Trying desperately to get the public to do this - even to try to persuade the public to hack themselves - the money involved is not the point by any means.....control is of utmost concern them.....and of course their ability to switch off your life source ....
There are people who still participate in mix martial arts. The chip is paced in a very meaty part of your hand. Also it should be noted that you could put the chip damn near any where. It's just most convenient to put it on your hand where you can easily get the chip near a reader.

(note: cyborg tech implants in Ottawa currently include, amongst other things Mr. Graafstra (you got only TWO? shit. I got 10 and they are beyond 'opening doors' my friend - cross reference Kevin Warwick and the University of Reading), adjuncts which allow the eyes to receive a video feed (causing blindness right here in Ottawa); adjuncts to the chest and the throat and ears which allow the voice to bend radio waves in order to 'broad cast digitally' or to 'capture the voice of another' (this right here in Ottawa too! and a life of hell is born!!!). those familiar with your 'cyborg shit' hate it. it is a painful debilitating march to death masquerading as 'fun science for the demented and the abusive'.

What if someone shakes your hand and reads the RFID, put it on a card? Could he enter his house then?
Probobly, but it pretty hard
Not hard at all. Portable RFID readers can be bought for a song. I wouldn't "protect" anything precious with RFID.
