    thank you for your video, I won't say I want to be a BIM Engineer but I would like to play with geometry and form, I am thinking about how to align my career goal, I found as a BIM Enginer might have a very boring task in the daily life. But I would try first, if I don't like then I would like to shift my career

    Hey Tery. Thank you so much for your great explanation, specifically on BIM. Dude Imma big fan of you!! I’m from Iran and I’ve been graduated from university from there around 5 years ago in Architecture’s bachelor. Then right now my short term gol ist learn Revit as in professional level such as architectural and structural. And so other softwares like grasshopper, layout,diagram, photoshop and other things like you’ve mentioned for BIM.
    After that I wanna apply to the U.S university for getting master degree.
    On the one hand I’m a bit toast, because of my GPA is less than 3 and I gotta take the GRE’S exam and also TOEFL exam overall should be more
    than 100! That’s not a big deal! I’m doing it. One the other hand, I’m on the fence. I donno what tie is the best for master degree programs for me . I mean what type of major should I take in university? They said Construction management is kinda interdisciplinary major between Architecture, Engineering, and mechanical right??
    Do you think is a good thing for me to choice CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT OR PROJECT MANAGEMENT? Or do we have BIM PROGRAMS for university & master degree in side of the U.S in order to enrollment?
    Thanks for your guidance in advance man 🙏🏻

      Structural engineer in my opinion. Lots of calculations but higher salary. BIM engineer has more coordination work and less salary

    Hi,
    I have my Bachelors in architecture and Maters in Urban Design, both from India. So, I know that with my qualification/ Licence from India it’s not easy to land a job as an architect in the US or UK, so will my lack of field work/ practice in these countries affect my application as BIM Manager despite knowing and having worked with the software?

    Insightful 📝
    Trey help me with - in my case the lack of clarity & guidance to follow the path of starting freelancing has become a problem as my field of construction design & drafting industry ( Mep Hvac ) there aren't enough mentors to guide & show path specifically as it's not something which is in trend like Information technology sector & many clients prefer people with already 1 or 2 yrs of experience on projects.. what do you think should i be doing in such a situation ? Also pls suggest some best or ur favourite books to know practical tips on online money making as service providers..

      Hi Mohib,
      If i were you, join a MEP subcontractor and learn from their BIM Manager. If this is something you want to specialize in the long term, it's worth spending 1-2 years doing the groundwork and later start a side hustle doing freelance MEP Modeling. Once you get there, join fiverr as a freelancer and start making some side income. Hope that helps.

      @@TreyTan That's a Great idea 😊 could you also suggest how to tackle the fresher element in getting hired by company as many are not choosing fresher candidates due to lack of ground experience so how to effectively prove ourselves initially so that our skills are highlighted more...

    Construction management vs BIM for better future in terms of financial stability?

    • @TreyTan
      @TreyTan  Год назад +1

      Personally, CM is more stable. You can do CM without BIM (as we have done so in the past). But you can't do BIM without CM, there's simply no use for BIM without CM. Hope that helps.

    Hi Trey, I'm from South Korea, where BIM hasn't been established yet.. I've majored architecture, especially design part. I'm interested in BIM (VDC) recently and want to work in US as soon as I graduate university. I'll get only a bachelor degree when I finish my school. I've usually done architectural design so far with multiple software (CAD, Sketch-up, rhino, grasshopper, lumion, Revit and of course Photoshop etc). I'm not sure I should start my job as an architecture or BIM coordinator. Is the salary and work load of BIM better than architecture? Which of plan do you recommend for me? Plus, I wonder if I can work directly as an BIM coordinator in US without any experience of working in that field.

    • @TreyTan
      @TreyTan  Год назад

      Hi Sio, I’m happy that you have great ambitions. The softwares you listed are enough to get you in BIM. Personally, BIM salary is higher and workload is easier. Architects suffer early but can make more money if they start their own practice later on in life. Good luck coming over to the states, I know a lot of people want to do that but without a visa it’s tough! You might have to take a masters degree and then apply for a job. All the best.

    BIM, Thought it would pay $$$$$$ better, no mention of AutoCAD. And you forgot Fire Protection Engineers. I heard the drawings are so damn Big that they must remain on the cloud in the internet world,.
