  • In this video I found a wood that I just met, the name is cainito wood or whatever the exact name is I don't know, this wood has a unique light brown wood grain, this wood belongs to the softwood group, for the finishing I use beeswax and natural oils

    Mayuko's work is probably the best I have ever seen. His engineering is as good as his artwork. Amazing skills. As a machinist/toolmaker for over 50 years, (now retired) I have made some pretty cool things out of all kinds of metals. I have some machine tools in my garage and would love to get into some woodworking, but alas, my allergies will not allow it.

    Since I found your channel only a couple of months or so ago, I'm currently binge-watching your older videos. And each time I think "Oh, this is the most beautiful work I've seen so far. But with every new work I have to repeat this statement. I'm absolutely thrilled by each and every one of your creations. Wish I could enjoy one of them in my home....
    Thanks for giving so much joy to your community. Greetings from Germany

    As lovely as this is, I have to wonder how practical it is. It looks like it would take very little to make it fall over.
    That said, what a lovely piece of art.

    When you put your glue on those pieces and start stacking them on the lathe, is the glue still wet when you start turning?

    • @mayukowoodturning7644
      @mayukowoodturning7644  10 месяцев назад

      Yes, the glue was still wet when I turned it, but the tail stock had to be stuck firmly in the wood

    I noticed that when you glue segments on while the project is still in your lathe and you start turning them that glue flies off of the project. How long do you typically let the glue set before you actually start turning it

    • @mayukowoodturning7644
      @mayukowoodturning7644  2 года назад

      I immediately turned it on while the glue was still wet, but the tail stock had to stick to the wood

    Hi, I was just wondering, do you start turning when the glue is still wet? I'm only asking as I am getting myself a lathe soon.

    • @mayukowoodturning7644
      @mayukowoodturning7644  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes, turning the wood while it is still wet can be done as long as the tailstock is firmly embedded in the wood.
