As a western person, there’s a special kind of audacity that I get especially from Americans (not saying this to claim that we don’t have people like this in every country but I feel like Americans are worse with this). I feel like many of them don’t even make an effort to try to learn how a language sounds and just slap on their Americanisms and expect everything to work. There is a clear difference between someone trying and not really being able to produce certain sounds and someone who doesn’t even bother with pronunciation, as long as there’s a way to pronounce something the American way, they will do it. And we notice. If you don’t know what I mean, just watch Emily in Paris. „Parley woo Franceys“.
