I got a 2018 ford flex limited and this is an excellent crossover vehicle, very comfortable and was really shock how fast this vehicle feels and how powerful it feels. I am very happy with my purchase.
Just bought a 2017 with 75k miles on it and I love it I just drove it from Idaho to Tennessee and back a week after I bought it and it did great! It’s an awesome road trip vehicle!
My wife and I just found a 2016 limited ecoboost awd with nearly nearly every option available. Some snowbirds in Florida owned it and kept it pristine and clocked only 33,000 miles. Original sticker was $52,000. We paid a little over $20,000 and though it may seem high it quite literally smells like a new car. It’s our second flex and we love it.
Ford likes to place the button to close the lift gate inside the cargo area near the lift motor, my guess is for shorter people or if you have groceries and your hands are full. Great video!
I've always loved the way the Flex looks. It's the only "crossover" that's not afraid to say it's a station wagon. Would definitely buy one of these. Good review as usual!
Thanks! Yeah, I don't think there's anything wrong with being a station wagon. Especially if it looks like this and had FOUR sunroofs. By the way, glad to see you're back to posting videos again!
Bought a 2019 flex limited, same color combo in the video. Came with 20 inch factory wheels, which I'm not a fan of, until I drove it. Tigbt, no rattles, hauls ass, and tracks like my lexus. No complaints, great interior with muted grey engine turned inserts instead of the classic orange wood look. Above all else, my wife LOVES it!
I rented a Flex back in 2016 and loved it. I found a 2016 Flex SEL with only 24000 miles on it yesterday and I’m picking it up today. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the sunroofs but I still love this car! Ford has discontinued it but at least I got to own one!
I'm getting 26mpg on the Highway in my 2017 Flex SE. All the extra options weigh them down.... Some might see a base model but I see it as a lighter model that gets better mpg. I bought mine because of the ride, I have back issues and the Flex is so smooth that I can drive all day without it hurting me!
I thought the Flex was discontinued. The Ford dealer down the street from me doesn't have any. My neighbor had a red one. Thought it looked like a big shoe box...but then I rode in one and they are nice!!
Shoe box! That's perfect, even better than my wife's "lunch box" analogy. And yes, the Flex is still in production. From what I understand it has a pretty loyal following. Mostly in California. Who knew!
Nice! I've been told by several people that they plan to replace their Ford Flex with another Flex. Do you by any chance live in California? From what I understand a vast majority of the sales are in Cali. Just curious. You don't see many of these out by me in Chicago.
Noooooo! I just checked on the Googles and Motortrend confirmed it. Oh well, I mean, let's be honest, I wasn't going to buy one. Still a fun rental. Anything THIS different is cool to drive for a few days. And yeah, it isn't selling well. Except in California, where apparently Ford gets most of it's sales.
Too bad they can't build it properly. Ordered a 19 limited flex since Feb received it a week after may 24 long weekend and came defected from factory. Roof is twisted around sunroof water leaks inside harness cut and needed to be replaced according to head mechanic at Oakland ford Lincoln in Oakville down the street from the plant where it's built.Fenders doors and truck not aligned. Run down on the clear coat and it's been at the shop for 2 months end of May going onto Augest. They Received 2 more on the lot that #2 ford flex and as everyone knows they stop making em now so I had to get what ever is left around Ontario. Dark gray paint is all flaky panels missed aligned, speaker wire hanging out of the rear right buckle piller in the trunk. Flex # 3 outer door trim by window flew off on test drive. Nicely build Ford keep in mind I've been a proud ford owner since day 1 and all head office can tell me there isn't any program for issues like this well maybe they should start since they're building crap. Now Im stuck with flex number 3 because it's in better shape then my 1st one that was custom built, it's at the body shop to get the rear bumper repainted as they damaged it and tryed touching up the paint by over spray all over the black trim and roof as the car is white and black roof. I love the vehicle don't get me wrong drives nice and lots of space but I'd be emberest to sell something like that. And Ford basically told me I'm shit out of luck. Tryed contacting the head office and can't get a hold of the manager that's taking care of my Cass been calling for a week left messages and no replay so I'm trying to get help from people with my experience I'm having.
I like that blind side detector seems like a great idea! Good that the seats fold completely down... when you showed me them at first I was thinking that it was rather terrible compared to what I would expect from a modern vehicle like this in its price range. Bottom line I'm a rather big fan of luxury vehicles so I like all the luxuries within it.... But I just don't care for the way it looks.... I think it's the front end and the rear end that I really don't care for.... If I had money for a large luxury suv I'd likely would get an Escalade. (mind you I prefer the way the older Escalade's looked) Look forward to hearing your review on the Jeep Wrangler! I always liked the Jeep Wrangler but never purchased one. When I was younger I wanted to get an 80's Jeep Wrangler YJ. I liked how basic it was with the metal dash and everything! Makes it look allot more rugged then the newer one with more creature comforts and such.
I always wanted a Wrangler too! Or at least to drive one for a while. I gotta say, it was...an experience. Not the best car for winter. Hopefully I'll get a chance to rent the Wrangler again in the summer so I can take the door off.
100 Rental Cars really no good for winter? Did you have a 4x4 model? Like it's a smaller car I suppose. But should still out class something like a sub compact car? Or is it somehow worse? I would also imagine 4WD would help as well..... Maybe the rental just had shitty tires..... Well I look forward to the Video!
I am surprised they rented you a TR unit. It stands for Transfer. We are told only to rent Canada units on one-way rentals moving North. For example, in St. Louis or Chicago, we could send a TR unit to Wisconsin, etc.
+eggeorge Interesting. Well I specifically asked for it, so that might be why. Plus, I only had it for 24 hours. Probably better to rent it out rather than have it sit on the lot. By the way, you're a wealth of information! Thanks for sharing the insider info on the secret codes.
100 Rental Cars Of course! Well, it’s interesting. I have seen TR units as high as 100,000 miles due to the fact we cannot sell them until they are returned to Canada. Hence the rule to only one-way North. Inching it back to Canada.
I've had a few with high miles on it. Never 100k, but a couple at 60k. And it makes sense about not being able to sell them here. Kinda interesting. I've been learning a little bit about the business side of things from the guys at my local Enterprise. Watching them exchange cars with other locations, while trying to keep cars on the lot for their own customers is fascinating. It's like an art form!
No, I don't pay extra for GPS. If the car has a navigation system built it, it almost always works when you rent it. Plus, many of the new cars now have Android Auto built in (or Apple's version), so you can also connect your phone if needed and use it as an alternative navigation system. Are you thinking of renting something soon?
100 Rental Cars I will in a couple of months for vacation. I never opt for GPS and use my phone but that would be nice to have in a rental I would assume
Alot of automotive journalists loved this car. But journalist are typically people that like and care about cars and driving dynamics. Boring Minivans and large pickup trucks with no handling or proper drive character sell well to the mindless masses.
Nope, I had this a few weeks ago. I'm a little behind on my reviews. I've got a Chevy Silverado and a Jeep Wrangler to post. Plus whatever I get this week. I'm trying to get faster, but it still takes me several hours to put together a review.
It's such an ugly car. I know it doesn't sell well in this area. They don't even stock them at the local dealer, if you want one you have to order it. The Lincoln version is much better looking.
Hmmmm, you have me curious. What's Lincoln's version of this? The MKT? The Nautilus? Somewhat unrelated, but I've pretty much LOVED every Lincoln rental I've had. Damn they make nice cars.
Lincoln MKT. And they are going to discontinue it as well. It's a much better looking car. I looked at a 2018 MKX, but the rear compartment was too small for 4 sets of golf clubs, and I'm not a fan of the push button transmission. But otherwise, a very nice car.
The MKT was another one of those ugly cars on the outside but one of the most comfortable vehicles you will ever ride in. I think it was discontinued in 2016
I got a 2018 ford flex limited and this is an excellent crossover vehicle, very comfortable and was really shock how fast this vehicle feels and how powerful it feels. I am very happy with my purchase.
Is yours the EcoBoost?
I've got a 2018 as well. Just as happy with mine!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I just bought a 2018. Takes me back to my childhood - father and uncle had station wagons.
Amen. I love the Flex.
I think it's an awesome looking car!!

And every time I’m driving it i do have fun
One of the best cars i ever had
Thanks Ford

By far better than all ford SUVs out there, just can’t understand why it doesn’t get much hype.
Agreed!

I have 2016 in this exact trim, and love the hell out of it.

@@aayonce4 I regret not getting sunroofs for myself. I really wanted them. But that would have meant going from a 24,000 miles to 50,000 miles.
@@robincobb8611 tbh the miles dont really mean much in that range imo.
There very reliable my mom has one and it has about 140,000 miles on it without having any problems

+Kevin Eaton Nice enough to trade in your current ride?
100 Rental Cars no...i like my MKZ too much..Itd have to be the new Continental for that lol
Kevin Eaton Yeah my local dealers in Chicago keep a couple in stock. I usually see the Flex on Avis/Budget lots.

four sunroofs!! that is cray cray. neat. thanks for providing this review as this would be very challenging for some to have access to this one.
I know, right! I love the Flex. I don't understand why it gets so much hate here on the Internets.
This kid said cray cray, can you even drive?
We are driving our second Ford Flex. Nicest driving vehicle we ever owned. Wonder how well they would have sold if Ford actually advertised the thing!
We just bought 2019 Ford Flex SEL and lots of surprises, I wished bought one from before instead of X5...
Congratulations!
The button to close the trunk hitch is on the side inside the trunk near the hydraulic motor.
Ahhhh, thanks! Sorry I missed that.
Good review. 👍 I really love how these vehicles look. Really slick. I've always been a ford fan.

There’s a button on the left side inside the hatch to close it. 🙂

To bad the general public doesn't share your optimism about this car. Ford said they are discounting the flex in 2020.
