People say that The Exorcist or Ringu are terrifying but I got bored during those movies and I was not even scared once. The 2 insidious movies and The Conjuring are the scariest movies I have seen. James Wan is a freaking genius. I hope that Whanell succeeds in making this one as terrifying as the first 2 chapters.
well the guy who wrote and directed this also wrote both insidious movies and a few of the saw films, he's a good friend with Wan so I think the movie is in safe hands.
Your looking at those two movies completley wrong dude, those two movies are classics. Modern horror doesn't even compete with classic horror. Ringu may have not been that old but it's still better then what we call "Horror" such as insidious and paranormal activity.
Hyotomochu I think that's the scariest part of the whole movie. She should look more puzzled at how he was able to type 300 wpm instead of the knocking next door.

Guys, you do realize that despite Wan's directing presence, Leigh Whannel, writer of the last two Insidious films and the majority of the other Wan films as well as Wan's best friend, is the director in this, right? I think he'll do a great job!
I hope he'll do a good job. But you must remember there is a difference between writing and directing a film. Wan is a genius at making scary movies. Lets hope he taught Whanell well and that this movie lives up to the first 2 chapters.

It's not completely new. Elise or w.e her name was is still there so that's assuming she's traveling around int he spirit world since she's dead. IMO that opens up so many opportunities because she'll be traveling the spirit world the whole time. There's a good chance to see more spirits and demons that way

Okay so story time. My friend and I are horror movie fanatics. We don't jump much, but there's are moments. But we barely do. We found insidious be messing up clicking paranormal activity and watched insidious instead and fell in love. We saw the second one together. Well we were in theaters to see Ouija and this trailer came on. Now we didn't know it was Insidious 3, but when the hand came down we jumped. We heard the beginning of Tip Toe Through The Tulips and looked at each other, both of our minds blown, then we sat there flailing our arms around and trying not to cry out of excitement. People say the Insidious' are boring, but in my opinion they aren't, and this one looks as good, if not better as the rest. I'm counting down the days till it comes out and I'm excited.
1:59 i bet that is what she saw in the ending of part 2 where she tries to talk to the silent girl. Dang this movie is awesome, full of mysteries that it doesn't scary anymore but more intriguing. I can't wait to watch this in summer.

***** The problem with people that say 'it's only jump scares' is that when people criticise such a comment, they never know how to continue the discussion maturely. So allow me to. I, for one, love the Insidious movies, the jump scares are top notch but the word they're looking for is either 'atmosphere' or 'creepiness' I reckon. If you Japanese horrors, you'll understand this, they (traditionally) use slow building tension to grip you and terrify you in a way that prolongs the sense of dread you feel in a scene. Making someone terrified for an extended period of time is a fine art, compared to just producing a quick shock image with a loud noise. But both have their worth in cinema. Insidious is one of the few (recent) American horrors that creates the periods of tension I just described. For me, the scariest part of the first film were the ghosts with the creepy grins that didn't move, for example. And to all those that say 'lazy jump scares', if want to be an armchair critic, stop being lazy and antagonising people. Go into some detail or you lose all credibility and look like an immature idiot.
If someone wants to hear the story to this "prequel" well, here we go! So at the end of Insidious 2, Elise went in to Alisons family's home and went to talk to Alison, then saw the red faced guy (well, apparently). Then something happened and something happened then she went "further" to the past to find answers (from the case before insidious took part) and it had somehow something to do with Alison, and the 3rd insidious will take part of Elise helping a teenage girl (that part was from imdb) whos haunted by the ghost what Elise is apparently now in the further investigating, because it had something to do with Alison (my theory)

INSIDIOUS chapter3- the scariest movie ever ! Awesome jump scares from beginning to the end. Don't think it's over until the last part. The Psychic Lady plays by Lin Shayne deserve an Oscar Nomination .
Looks great. I felt that the second movie was really lacking, I was only startled a few times through out the movie. Hopefully this new movie will bring back the mystery while at the same time give us a bigger picture of what's going on.

We heard the beginning of Tip Toe Through The Tulips and looked at each other, both of our minds blown, then we sat there flailing our arms around and trying not to cry out of excitement. People say the Insidious' are boring, but in my opinion they aren't, and this one looks as good, if not better as the rest. I'm counting down the days till it comes out and I'm excited.
1:59 i bet that is what she saw in the ending of part 2 where she tries to talk to the silent girl. Dang this movie is awesome, full of mysteries that it doesn't scary anymore but more intriguing. I can't wait to watch this in summer.
This teaser trailer is creepier than the entire 2nd film... I really disliked Chapter 2, it just got too silly. I hope this one lives up the 'The Darkest Chapter' ~ I have faith in Leigh for this one!

***** The problem with people that say 'it's only jump scares' is that when people criticise such a comment, they never know how to continue the discussion maturely. So allow me to. I, for one, love the Insidious movies, the jump scares are top notch but the word they're looking for is either 'atmosphere' or 'creepiness' I reckon. If you Japanese horrors, you'll understand this, they (traditionally) use slow building tension to grip you and terrify you in a way that prolongs the sense of dread you feel in a scene. Making someone terrified for an extended period of time is a fine art, compared to just producing a quick shock image with a loud noise. But both have their worth in cinema. Insidious is one of the few (recent) American horrors that creates the periods of tension I just described. For me, the scariest part of the first film were the ghosts with the creepy grins that didn't move, for example. And to all those that say 'lazy jump scares', if want to be an armchair critic, stop being lazy and antagonising people. Go into some detail or you lose all credibility and look like an immature idiot.

My opinion: Insidious 1 was my favorite, 2 sucked but explained everything, 3 was the scariest
If someone wants to hear the story to this "prequel" well, here we go! So at the end of Insidious 2, Elise went in to Alisons family's home and went to talk to Alison, then saw the red faced guy (well, apparently). Then something happened and something happened then she went "further" to the past to find answers (from the case before insidious took part) and it had somehow something to do with Alison, and the 3rd insidious will take part of Elise helping a teenage girl (that part was from imdb) whos haunted by the ghost what Elise is apparently now in the further investigating, because it had something to do with Alison (my theory)

INSIDIOUS chapter3- the scariest movie ever ! Awesome jump scares from beginning to the end. Don't think it's over until the last part. The Psychic Lady plays by Lin Shayne deserve an Oscar Nomination .

Looks great. I felt that the second movie was really lacking, I was only startled a few times through out the movie. Hopefully this new movie will bring back the mystery while at the same time give us a bigger picture of what's going on.
