  • Hey everyone & welcome back! 🥰
I finally got around to filming this video today where I talk about a little experiment that I've been doing this year.
For 6 months straight I decided that I would post a reel everyday on Instagram. I wanted to see whether it would create faster growth in terms of followers and engagement, and I actually learned A LOT more than I expected along the way.
Hopefully some of the things I've learned will help you guys out with your accounts! 😊✨

I had my account go viral with reels. It wasn’t my goal at all and happened randomly. In April 2021 I had 2000 followers and I was posting reels of flowers a few days a week and they blew up and for a year I was getting around 500-1000 followers a day. It went on for a long time and in the past 6 months it’s slowed a little but I’m now at 192,000 followers. I have a lot of thoughts on it.. too much for a comment section but I can say more followers really doesn’t mean much at all. And it’s kind of annoying having people follow you for one thing because you get stuck into a box and feel like you can only post what they like now and not what you like… In the past few months I’ve seriously considered starting a new account to start fresh. I like more of a small community feel where you actually know people.

    • @kayleighjunecreative
      @kayleighjunecreative  5 месяцев назад +9

Thank you so much for sharing your story! I definitely know how it feels to be backed into a corner with content, like you have to post the same thing over and over again. It’s so great to have more freedom with your content, hence why I actually started this channel alongside my older channel! I felt that I could only talk about photography & Photoshop related content when I actually wanted to talk about so much more than just that!
I highly recommend starting a new account even as a side project, just to see where it leads you. Don’t put too much pressure on it and try to have fun with it! 😊❤️

Also it would be interesting, if you would grow to 2000 in a similar time-span or if it would be harder (or easier!) this time. Even though this would still say nothing about if it was more/less luck this time or if Instagram just changed.

I think your insights are very enlightening and encouraging. I have been feeling horrible about the lack of reach on my IG page. It has affected my mental state tremendously, mostly due to the nature of my content (inner child healing and trauma recovery). It's reassuring to see my struggles validated in a way; posting Reels for 6 months straight takes a lot of mental fortitude to do. Your comment about being social with people within your niche is something that I will start implementing more into my growth strategy. Thank you very much for sharing your experiences with us

Thank you so much for watching, and I completely understand how that feels. ❤️There's so much pressure on social media, and we want to be able to connect and be inspired on the platform without feeling bad about how slow our own growth may be! (I'm constantly looking for ways to take the pressure off myself, and make posting feel less of a chore!)
I found one thing that really helped with connecting on social media was to follow other accounts with similar reach and follower counts. This really helped to start building that little community of like- minded people, and it kind of feels like we're all in it together! 😊

This video has pointed out some useful and relevant things that we should try! Best of luck! ^^

      😅 so true ...
      Instagram has a weired algorhythm.
Many people quit, like Modern Millie, one of my sources to learn Instagram.
Even I noticed. The first month they push your content, one new follower every day, and if then you don t do advertissement, nobody gets to see your content any more...
I won t complain, got 1 new customer from this 1st month. 😊
But still, I am not very convinced of this insta. You have to have it as a business, but it s not a good time investment in my humble opinion...

Thanks so much. This was super helpful. I posted a reel a day for about 4.5 months and didn’t really see any follower growth but I wasn’t focused on engagement. I’d come to the conclusion that engagement was the missing factor. So it’s helpful to hear your comments on this topic. thanks again

I watched a buddy of mine start with 500 or so twitter followers and he has grown it to a little over 13k over the last two years by being extremely social with his community. The first time I spoke in his twitter space, he asked if I wanted to hop on a call and we talked for probably 30 minutes about life, creativity, and music (he's a music artist and producer). Some may say this isn't an efficient way to grow an audience, but I have watched his tribe grow online, and since I met him, he's been able to throw 7 raves in cities around the country. At the most recent one, over 500 people showed up, the vast majority of them were followers and friends that he met online.
Being social and caring about the people you interact with can really take you a long way. It's not the easy road or quick, but I am super proud of how my buddy Jadyn has built such a strong community by really investing in the people that invest in him. Super cool stuff. Being social with your followers really does help you grow, but it takes time.

I have been posting 1-2 reels a day for over 3 years and for the last 18 months. No growth whatsoever. I have played all of the games and used all of the hooks, videos, etc. so said that this platform is going down hill for so many people. Glad someone is getting some reach. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.
