    You are so right! After you taste the Suite life on Celebrity you can’t go back! The Retreat is pure magic for pampering and service, and why not! YOLO!

    I’ve been on 12 cruises, but next May will be my first with Celebrity, and like yourselves, the first time in a suite. You’re the first review I’ve read that started with the all important embarkation. It’s part of The Retreat experience, and was very happy with how you reviewed the process. I’m also curious as to how best utilize a butler. I don’t want to ‘over request’, but I also don’t want to miss out on services that might be helpful. I’ve only been on one Carnival cruise. I know many that enjoy them, but one was enough for me. Your video painted a wonderful picture, and I must subscribe. I appreciate both of your deliveries with this review. Thank you.

      Hi Jeffrey- thanks for the kind words. I’m not sure you could over request from the butler. Ours really seems like he wants more to do for us. He always asks if he can have food or drinks waiting in the room. We’ve had him make reservations at the steakhouse for us and yesterday asked him to have so cold Coronas in the room when we returned from Cozumel!

    Hey Scott & Lindsey, This video was spot on and a really great video. Like you, Suzy and I splurged on a suite a few years ago with Celebrity. Lindsey, Suzy said the exact same thing you did. It is tough once you go first class to go back. We married in 2012 and cruised to Hawaii in a Concierge Balcony class cabin. Up to that point, she had only had an outside cabin. Try to go back from a balcony would have been tough enough. Celebrity does an amazing job. We were fortunate enough to go back on Celebrity several more times since trying our first suite and but we now take a little longer between cruises. It is well worth the wait. They really do it right. Especially on the Edge class ships.

    We considered going for a suite when we sailed Apex in august, but opted to stick with our Sunset Veranda in the end. People staying in suites and the retreat often came to the pool and decks open for everyone, because they missed the ambiance in their little part of the ship ... or because they felt the food was "too complex". I'm considering the retreat on Beyond ... but would still prefer if this type of section was placed aft instead of forward. NCL got it right when they decided to make that switch for the Haven on the Prima.

    Wecome to Celebrity Suite life. It's just a step above everything else. One thing for anyone reading this, if you DO book a suite on the Apex, Edge, or Beyond, The Retreat lunge and extras are always on the front of the ship so careful where you book if you don't want to spend all day walking back to the aft where the sunset rooms are.

    Thanks for the terrific review. I’m going on my first cruise ever soon on Celebrity Apex staying in a Sky Suite. I know gratuities are included as a suite guest in The Retreat, but did you tip your butler and/or the bartenders? Thanks for your feedback.

    Thanks for the review, taking the family on our first cruise ever this November and we are also doing the suite and Retreat. Appreciate also the advice on use of the butler, will def include some extra gratuity for their help. Was it difficult to make reservations for restaurants and the spa DURING the cruise? Everyone I know that has cruised before has told me over and over to make reservations way in advance.

    • @SippingSunset
      @SippingSunset  2 года назад

      It wasn’t difficult for us to make reservations, our butler made them for us. Our cruise was shortly after Covid and was still limited capacity so it might be a good idea for you to make reservations early. Enjoy your cruise!!

    You said it's a step up from NCL, but it is pretty clear you have never been in the Haven. It is a very similar experience, you should try it as well.

      We’ve sailed NCL several times but not in the Haven. Overall, we felt the entire Celebrity experience was superior to anything we had on Norwegian. However, those Haven suites look great!

    Hey Guys, for sure Celebrity has their stuff together when it comes to their suite guests. We been with them for the last 3 cruises and like you now know it's hard not going that route. I do have a question we are on a cruise in December with things changing daily do you guys need that 72 hr test before boarding or was your vaccine card all you needed. Glad you had a great time and maybe we will see you guys in the Retreat someday. Stay Safe.

    • @SippingSunset
      @SippingSunset  2 года назад

      We had to have a negative test within 48 hours of boarding. They checked our passports, vaccination cards and test results prior to check in. Have a great cruise!

    Thinking about trying Celebrity again after awful cruise on Xenith years ago…have been doing mostly Norwegian in recent years. On Carnival Horizon 10/16 - 10/24…entertainment was less then stellar but embark/debark were so so quick makes your head spin. Food was excellent though, esp in dining rooms.

    • @SippingSunset

      Hi Margaret- we thought the entertainment was really nice! We sailed on the Carnival Mardi Gras this summer and the Celebrity shows were much better than Carnival.

    We are looking to change company from MSC to Celebrity and is interested in this Suite thing.
    Did you use the butler ? if did you tip him ? MSC does also have the butler service on Yach Club and we have used him for unpacking, do they do that as well ?

      MSCs yacht club may not be on the same level as Celebrity's retreat ... but is much more affordable and in a way more worth the extra money (don't ever go on MSC without booking Yacht Club, if you want my opinion)

    Hope we can leave criticism to improve your videos. Too much talk about the services and not enough showing. More “tell” than “show”. Unless I missed it didn’t see your stateroom?? Stay focus on the camera instead of turning and looking at each other. Thanks for sharing.

      Hi David- Thanks for the feedback but we’d like to create something different than other cruise/vacation channels. There are tons of videos with ship tours where you can see everything on the ship. Our goal is to enjoy our vacation and soak up everything the ship has to offer. We’ll pull out the camera when we can and then make a video like this discussing our experience… the last 2 cruises we’ve been on had lots of cruise vloggers. We see them all over the ship making content (basically working the entire time) By us focusing less on content creation, our vacation experience will likely be much more similar to what your vacation would actually be like! That’s what we’d like to convey on this channel and we had an incredible time on this ship!!
