that 97 concert in Montreux was a master class. those headless Status bass's were beasts. but you mate were on fire , and you made Gary float up there. a sonic wonderland. ( and your fills live were superb all the while laying down harmony backing vocals ) yur the
Loved hearing your anecdotes of touring and playing with Gary. One of his lesser known tracks - and what a track!! Thanks for the entertainment you bring thru these videos.
Finally, a track from one of the greatest guitarists ever.... Gary Moore... Dark Days in Paradise is for a more sophisticated listener.... Not just straight blues/rock 🙂✌️
The Rockonteurs podcast is fantastic !!!, some of my heroes on their , Trevor horn , Nile rodgers , Stewart copeland and my favourite David coverdale what a legend he is , just need Jeff lynne and of course Mr Gilmour. Keep,up the good work Guy many thanks. 👏👏👍👍
I spent the bulk of my Friday evenings in 2010 listening to Gary Moore's live album in Dublin with a few beers and my bass, hard to believe he's been gone almost 10 years now.
Beautiful song,Gary Moore seemed to be so talented, loved his writing and playing. I think I still have the G Force vinyl album, I bought when it came out. Great to see you back, even though I'm not a Bass player. Loving the Rockonteurs Podcasts too. All the best to you as always.
Gary is my favourite guitarists of all time, love guy's playing on the live version in montreux of Business As Usual. Thanks for all those legendary bass lines over the years guy, that make me pull air bass face 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Happy birthday and new year. My wife got me a copy of your book for Christmas and really looking forward to reading it, along with the back catalog of books I still have to catch up on as well.
I saw Floyd in Nashville, 1994 tour. After the 'Money' jam, I thought to myself, "Self...who is that fuckin' kid tearing up the bass like a genius?". Lo and behold he's survived the touring wars and still kickin' ass. Read your book and laughed all the way. Great to see you sharing insights on tunes for all of us fanboys to enjoy. Don't t back off, Guy. FLOYD forever!!!!
From my FAVORITE of Gary's many albums. The live touring band for this was phenomenal. You all seemed to really enjoy each other. There are several official and unofficial live recordings floating around, and every one of them is powerful and tight. Not sure if you know this Guy, but not ONE track from the album has EVER been released on vinyl ANYWHERE in the entire world! I have been writing anyone who might listen, to no avail.. At any rate, I enjoy all of Gary's different creative periods, but this seemed the most personal, and I always like his music more when he had a keyboardist in the band. Thank you for taking the time to share a Gary story! All the best to you and your family in 2021.... 2020 sure sucked....
Happy New Year to you Gary! Thanks for sharing these stories and performances! I'm not a musician but I just love, love hearing and seeing a contributor to such fantastic pieces, describing their part of it! And you do so in such a unique way.
I really wish Gary Moore was still around. One of my biggest regrets is not seeing him live before he died. An incredible guitar player. Another great video, cheers Guy!
This is the one I have been waiting for ... Gary ❤ and Guy ❤. Thank you so very much for providing everyone such great content, stories and insights with the Lockdown Licks and Rockonteurs during this crazy period. Love your attitude 😁
The main groove is almost like a slow motion "Like a Prayer". I never heard of Gary Moore (and this song), but I bought a copy thanks to this video. Nice.
Fabulous! Guy, mate, you played with so many guitar heroes... I bet it feels good! I've listened to the podcast with Brian Johnson. Lot of fun. P.S. Sopranos... What a marvelous TV series! Stay safe!
This & your podcast are FANTASTIC! And I love everything you do! A right proper bass player. And since you're locked down, Orphan black is a insanely good rabbit hole of a show.
Thankyou .. and a Happy New Year to you as well .. On a side question .. when you arrived at Eddy's studio was there any studio gear left after Shaun Ryder had sold most of it for drugs lol
Dark Days In Paradise was one of my favourite albums of all time. The last 3 tracks where unbelievable songs, ‘ Business As Usual’ was about Gary’s actual life. Guy, did you play bass on the track that never made the album ‘ All The Way From Africa’? Great stuff as this album is an all time gem.
Happy Birthday🎂🎈🎉... hope you are making good recovery from your op. Good luck with 2021... we're all going to need it, strange how 3 weeks to flatten the curve can run into a never ending loop... stay well and stay same Guy!... oh, and what a choooon, never heard it before THANKS!
Great as usual. I hope you had the Operation on your shoulder. I had mine done earlier in January and still not allowed to play guitar. Thanks for keeping us entertained. If you ever have a chance please do a lesson on Tears for Fears Mr Pessimist
Didn’t know this track but how ace is this. Checked out the Montreux version you referenced and it’s brilliant. Must say your backing vocals were brilliant as well. Top tune
Thanks for this Guy, and also thanks for being a ray of sunshine in these "Dark Days" (see what I did there?!" The live in Montreux version is superb, this song really comes to life in a concert setting. Keep these tunes coming, be well, and keep safe!
all.....pretty....straight-forward Episode 20....and no one asked GP what he wants......must be some favourite crowd cheering / clapping we could pull together
Thank you Guy for these videos, they have really helped to expand my music library, and also, they’ve inspired me to pick up a bass guitar. Plus you’re a funny man, I enjoy the “waffles” and the stories behind the music. Keep up the great work! Also, if you’re still doing requests, No Promises by Icehouse would be a great edition to this series! :)
@@guypratt7104 I think this reply is a call out for me to open my ears up a little more and actually pay attention to a bass line before requesting something lol.
Another entertaining episode, thank you! I’m still living in hope that you’ll delight us with “You Never Listen To Me” which remains one of my favourite baselines by anyone, ever ❤️ Best wishes from New Zealand.
Nice job. Really well-done video production, too. Happy New Year 🎉 ... such as it is. That's a really nice bass-part on this song. Sorry to see England's back on lock-down, after things had been looking up there for awhile.
Another excellent video, thanks Guy! I checked out the Montreux video, and whilst I didn't play GP Bingo, I'm sure all of the other gear geeks are wondering what your Trace Elliot set up was on that tour? There looks to be a 4x12 (?) and a couple of heads - could you put us all out of our misery and tell us what gear you were using then?
Lobbying again for Icehouse's The Flame. Re: the podcast, are you locked into a 60 minute format? It would be great if they ran a bit longer, especially considering the quality of your guests and the stories they have to tell.
Love the live Video of this song, Gary was just the complete guitarist. On the full video of the gig, When you play still got the blues, you where almost late hitting one of your foot switches at the start, so funny.
Just started watching The Sopranos too! Only 5 episodes in, it's fantastic. Keep coming with the Lockdown Licks, fuck knows we need some light in this darkness 😄
Hey Guy, wonderful job with all those interviews with people about Rick Wright. Between that and the podcast, you're definitely a great interviewing. Other than the interviews themselves, I think Anthony Moore's dog was a close second to the best thing in those videos.
Hello Guy, do you remember the Icehouse tour? possibly around 1982, I auditioned for drums and apparently got the gig, only to lose it to the original drummer who decided to return, well that's the story I heard. Have a healthy and interesting 2021. Regards Derek Ballard.
Gary Moore's best album IMO, top notch writing, arrangement and playing of course by all involved. Very underrated album.
Настоящий мастер! Браво!👏

Yes!! I only just recently started listening to them too and they are so funny!
I spent the bulk of my Friday evenings in 2010 listening to Gary Moore's live album in Dublin with a few beers and my bass, hard to believe he's been gone almost 10 years now.
That was such a great live song performance in 97... Montreux .... excellent choice
Beautiful song,Gary Moore seemed to be so talented, loved his writing and playing. I think I still have the G Force vinyl album, I bought when it came out. Great to see you back, even though I'm not a Bass player. Loving the Rockonteurs Podcasts too.

The dvd is one of my favourites and the Montreaux band was one of Gary’s best ever
Gary is my favourite guitarists of all time, love guy's playing on the live version in montreux of Business As Usual. Thanks for all those legendary bass lines over the years guy, that make me pull air bass face 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Great bass line i only saw gary once in the late 90.s great show and what i monster player gary was
Had this on a cassette single. Was a great track to have playing while driving at night.
Magic! My lockdown heroes have been Guy, Lee Sklaar, Tim Pierce, Tom Bukavac and The Sopranos!
And Toyah and Robert
Being a Sussex lad, visited Gary's grave in Rottingdean. A wizard on guitar.
Love your tales of the music industry.
I'd like to hear some licks from "Trust Me", from Elton John's Road to Eldorado album.
Happy birthday and new year. My wife got me a copy of your book for Christmas and really looking forward to reading it, along with the back catalog of books I still have to catch up on as well.
Love the globe.......whoosh, certainly have missed you Guy! But to do some of your Gary Moore contributions simply wonderful

Great to see you back, your videos have been one of the highlights of the last year; hope you have a great 2021!
Missed you Sir 💯 Happy & healthy 2021
I really wish Gary Moore was still around. One of my biggest regrets is not seeing him live before he died. An incredible guitar player. Another great video, cheers Guy!
This album was definitely an adventure and the broadening of the wingspan for Gary paid off in a lot of the songs, this one being a great example.
Aww I have been dying for you to do this one, the live version from montreux is my fav really love your groove in it, thanks for sharing
Friendless Plague Island would be a great name for a new British band. Reflects the spirit of the times.
This is the one I have been waiting for ... Gary ❤ and Guy ❤.

Great stuff. Love to hear the story about Business as Usual.
Great to get the chance to be introduced to this stuff that I would never normally have heard.
Awesome tone
Thanks Guy! Your groove and Gary's licks brightened my day.
You ray of sunshine!!! Great fun listening to you ramble on!
Totally amazing, my favourite track on my favourite GM album. Love the live version, some great fills.
I've just finished listening to your audiobook Guy... I was in stitches over your antics especially the hire car which you crashed.
Guy Pratt Bingo ... the new lock down championship
“Our friendless plague island” is such a perfect description of the UK at the moment
This & your podcast are FANTASTIC! And I love everything you do! A right proper bass player. And since you're locked down, Orphan black is a insanely good rabbit hole of a show.
happy late birthday Guy! keep up ALL of the good work... us bassists in the U.S. need you.
Sopranos has a brilliant end scene, just finished rewatching. Again!
That's a great main riff, not heard the song before, will have to check out the album. As a bass player i love the videos. Ta.
Thankyou .. and a Happy New Year to you as well .. On a side question .. when you arrived at Eddy's studio was there any studio gear left after Shaun Ryder had sold most of it for drugs lol

Would love to know the answer to that q re 'Africa'. What a track!
Guy I’m so envious of you not having seen the sopranos
You are in for an absolute treat
Still the best tv series ever closely followed by breaking bad
Happy Birthday🎂🎈🎉... hope you are making good recovery from your op. Good luck with 2021... we're all going to need it, strange how 3 weeks to flatten the curve can run into a never ending loop... stay well and stay same Guy!... oh, and what a choooon, never heard it before THANKS!
Great song, great fun, lovely bass. Cheers, Guy.
Thanks Guy and a belated happy birthday. Glad you’re shoulder is better.
Let’s have a new/longer Great Disco bass lines video! Cheers Guy
Teasing that black strat, good fan service
Excellent as always, The Rockonteurs with Brian Johnson is classic rock gold.
Great as usual. I hope you had the Operation on your shoulder. I had mine done earlier in January and still not allowed to play guitar. Thanks for keeping us entertained. If you ever have a chance please do a lesson on Tears for Fears Mr Pessimist

You might be in for some binging with the Sopranos, one of the best TV shows ever.
Cheers
Yes, I agree. The Sopranos gets better and better each season. Then there is the ending ...
Saludos desde PERU.!!!! Guy Pratt.!!!! Tremenda influencia mía.!! Number one.!

Salute you from Argentina😎
Hi, Guy just discovered the Rockonteurs podcasts fantastic stuff.
You really are getting us through this mess with amazing content. Gary Moore and Brian Johnson with your own Gary. Excellent stuff.
Thanks for this Guy, and also thanks for being a ray of sunshine in these "Dark Days" (see what I did there?!" The live in Montreux version is superb, this song really comes to life in a concert setting. Keep these tunes coming, be well, and keep safe!
Brilliant as ever Guy, I'd love to see a video on one of David's fretless basslines like Hey You
all.....pretty....straight-forward
Episode 20....and no one asked GP what he wants......must be some favourite crowd cheering / clapping we could pull together
I want to check this album out now!
A brilliant record start to finish! AND, there are 4 or 5 bonus studio tracks on official CD single releases. ALL are musical masterpieces!
This is a sexy track, I am feeling rather confused.
Classic example of 'a song you like' rather than anything to do with the bass. It's one note played on a Fairlight. Cheers.
@@guypratt7104 I think this reply is a call out for me to open my ears up a little more and actually pay attention to a bass line before requesting something lol.
Glad to see you’re still with us - looks like you may need to keep at it for a while - belated happy birthday by the way x
