I've known a few guys who can fight on the street with aikido but they're very few and far between. 95% aikido practitioners wouldn't stand a chance

Aikido was useful during armed combat when you lost your weapon & you were getting charged at by a guy with a sword. It's just not relevant today because that will never happen & it's useless if they don't have a big weapon
@@BeeHatGuy Not really. Because you can adapt the same moves as if they're still holding weapons and if it's open to you, you can still do them. Most of the people in these comments are completely clowning Seagal even though if they knew anything about aikido everything he does is legit. Just like with any art, too much of one thing can be a bad thing. I'm sure there's a lot of merit behind some of the aikido technique's if you combine them with other much more practical styles.
He's also a helicopter pilot, professional surfer, astronaut, MI-6 agent, MI-7 agent, mailman, firearms inventor, Pro chef , dog walker, six timer runner up in the Nathan's hotdog eating championships and part time super saiyan....😜👍

Love the gun disarm. Don't move your head, wave your arms around, and someone with a long range weapon, like a handgun, would definitely put it within arm's reach to be disarmed. Absolutely plausible and effective.

Haha exactly someone holding a gun in real life wont be that close. Unless they dont think one will try to disarm them. Any gun disarm technique is dangerous even those that actually make more sense than other techniques. Rather be aware of surroundings and hopefully see it coming so you can avoid it. Its just a quick trigger pull its all it takes to kill someone.

Not only it's VERY impossible to dodge a WEAPON like a GUN, but the best option is to have a blade or shuriken(Ignore the misspellings) and think FAST before the fucker, or bitch doesn't EVEN realize that S/HE is STUPID. That's why I actually enjoy Ninjutsu EVEN over Krav Maga, but Silat is most definitely NEXT to my personal favorite art NINJUTSU. But I respect the FUCK out of your opinions.
