5 days in Jotunheimen

- I spent 5 days in Jotunheimen National Park (a mountain area in Norway) in august 2015.
My route was Gjendesheim to Gjendebu (with boat), I then hiked Gjendebu - Spiterstulen - Galdhøpiggen - Glitterheim - Besseggen - and back to Gjendesheim. A fantastic route in really beautiful scenery.

Cool! So it is possible to drive to Gjendesheim, park the car and then hike in a circle back to my car? I am planning to go to Norway by car for a hike next week but still chosing a good spot:)
It all depends on how long you are staying?
Gjendesheim -> Memurubu -> Boat to Gjendesheim (1 day) (most famous hike; Besseggen)
Gjendesheim -> Memurubu -> Gjendebu -> Boat to Gjendesheim (2 days)
Gjendesheim -> Memurubu -> Gjendebu -> Olavsbu / Fondsbu -> Fondsbu / Olavsbu -> Gjendebu -> Boat to Gjendesheim (5 days)
I suggest walking from Gjendesheim, not starting with the boat, to get the best view when hiking Besseggen. But of course, can also do the other way around

Sorry late reply. It depends on many things ;) How many hours a day would you like to hike? Are you planning on sleeping in tents,or to use the DNT-cabins?
Hey Jens, nice short video. And a great route with fantastic landscape. Cool animation with highprofile for your daily tracks. What kind of software do you use?
Hi Felix. Thanks for comment. I used Adobe AfterEffects to make all the visual/animation stuff, but with footage (map) from Google Earth. The highprofile was copyed from a route-planning app, that I re-drew in illustrator and synced it with route and maps in AfterEffects. Everyting was merged together in Adobe Premier.

At the moment I work more in pictures, so I use Photoshop and Lightroom ... maybe I'll try the complete creative cloud ;-)

Litt forskjellig. Men, som regel bare bilder hentet fra nett, hvor jeg legger på (animerer) ruten i After Effects.
Samme turen som jeg og en kamerat tok tidligere å år, bare motsatt vei :) Flott!
Ja, kan tenke meg den turen er like fin andre veien. Utrolig fint området det der :)

Hey, thanks for the comment. Are you bringing skis? I guess there could be a lot of snow at this time of year. But, the area is also really beautiful for skiing , but then I would maybe consider closer to easter. I hiked in early August, which I think is a great time of year. Late summer, ok weather, little mosquitos and little snow etc.

Perfect - I think that would be a great time of year for a trip like this. Keep in mind that there also are operated cabins on the route that I hiked. In case you don't want to spend all the nights in a tent ;)
