We need to address the fact that Shelby contacted the AirBnb owner, interviewed him about his property, researched before even going there! Seriously, how many RUclipsrs do this? Shelby, you deserve an award for your very very informative videos!
What if I told you that you just addressed those facts?
@@JohnDoe-ld8nr hahahah
She's a youtuber...why are you acting like she isnt going to make money off this video.
Some of yall are goobers.
@@woosha1919 I know she's going to make money off of this video, I'm saying she actually researched and did a good job because if you're going to do something, do it well. That's also good for working in an office. Jeez, you don't need to be rude
@@meyou-mk3qz after some research I saw that this setup is probably the ideal as well. You can use the same amount of shipping containers and get more space, have you seen The Box Hop? Amazing shipping container Airbnb!
also i just wanted to say how much i appreciate this channel. the quality that goes into these videos is great. altough im not your typical person to watch this channel i love it. I always tell people about this channel because it deserves so much. Keep coming out with amazing videos! Also, I am watching the video and i love the design of the shipping container lol.
I’ve followed Ben’s channel since the beginning of his shipping container build. It is so cool to see the final review in your channel! Awesome collab
I'm so happy to see you reviewing Ben's work, you are two youtuber's I've been watching for quite a long time, but I didn't think you could ever cross roads. I'm loving your latest content (and quality)!!
That handstand 😳👏
WHO ELSE THINKS SHELBY IS GORGEOUS??🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
small youtuber here
Foreal tho!
Great voice, too. Amazing handstand! Hello from Michigan.
She's a true girly girl ☺
Down to earth with a warm smile and usually welcoming.
She's excellent
I love that place! Got to see it when it was just an empty container and even got to build the table in the "backyard" 9:50 on a trip to JT 😜. Great tour and Ben crushed it on that setup!
"Its really cool because you can paint them any color you want" lmao what 😂😂
Yeah lol wtf was that 😂
Ang bobo haha
Yeah, you can't do that with brick houses, concrete houses, wooden houses and many other materials.
@@onreact Yeah exactly right
hey i mean..... that's a positive in my book. lmfao
$200k for a tin can in the desert. I bet that air conditioner runs non-stop. Monica is looking at her Air Stream project and thinking "I win." 😂
I watched the first few videos from them during the build, they didn't post for months so i guess i forgot about them, but if i remember correctly it ended up being almost 30k in permits alone! That was just for the water, power and tank...
Yeah the reason why it's so expensive is most likely due to paying for high end labor and all the machinery to dig the holes for the foundation. He probably paid top dollar for all the technology, labor, and interior design. Plus he probably paid 30k for permits per container. Like the person below me said literally $90,000 went into just the "permits alone" let alone all the top of the line interior design and labor work he paid for. That's why no one wants to build in California. You literally lose more money in the initial stages of building it then the overall savings of doing it yourself along with the permits. Moral of the story don't build your home in California unless it's on wheels and doesn't require all the permits and regulations of a actual residence. Also don't get top of the line tech like a MOEN shower and kitchenware and tailored interior design. That'll bring the cost waaaaay down.
@@MoonLiteNite how much did he have to pay to have everything ran? I know in So Cal you still even have to have a physical landline for a phone ran so you're up to code. Running all the cables and pipes to get electricity and water would probably cost more than the permits.
Get as much solar panels as you can. You are in a desert, sun light is not a problem.
@@kishouarima3730 I'm a homebuilder by trade and I've looked into these shipping container homes. No matter the state, they are far more expensive per square foot than traditional building. They are simply not a solution.
The wide opening doors are cool, but impractical if you’re worried about desert critters (including venomous rattlers) slithering into your home.
Omg it’s like a relaxing place to stay for summer
If you want to live in a shipping container for free join the Navy. Trust me, it’ll be great fun 👍
Outliers is great btw, a humbling book about great successes.
I live to see Shelby's videos! It always makes my day! love you Shelby! ❤️
I'm loving your series on unique homes.
yay finally! been waiting for this since your last video! 💖
The kitchen is really cool ... the recessed bookcase shelf line and the fridge is eclectic and elegant all at the same time. It balances perfectly. GREAT JOB!
What a quality content!!! Shelby, you are a content genius!!! Please keep up the good work!!! Your channel is really informative!!! 👍👍👍
I love the idea of the glass doors on both sides, it really does open it up! And combined with spacing it out, triples the actual perceived space. Nice! 👍
I would've painted it a bright color! just imagine... nothing in the desert and boom a bright box... would be really cool
Been following Ben’s progress since the start! Nice to see a review from an actual renter!
Omg i love these! 😍😍
Jessica Kent buy one😂
I love you girl! Your literally making history 😭💁🏼♀️ it’s crazy we’re always watching the same videos!
I love watching videos on these types of houses
I'm soo obsessed with container house, can't wait to get one
This was awesome!
Your videos bring me so much happiness!
Yahhh I watched his videos and we found it really educational!
We love this lifestyle and are doing this with our land!
I have to say that I’ve always been interested in the whole shipping-container- home concept. Pretty cool, very good info! 👍🏾
Awesome shelby...very informative...as always...love your stuff keep it up
definitely one of your best videos in a long time even though I love all of them!
Wow! Above and beyond by interviewing the builder! Awesome video Shelby!
Your videos are really well made! Keep it up!
I love this series! so informative!
This is my favorite series any youtuber has ever done!!!
This series is really good!
Cool tour of Ben's place! Also glad to see the concrete ping pong table I built finally getting some views since it flopped on my channel 🤣
interesting points ,if anyone else wants to discover best container homes try Container Recovery Tactics (container.RecoveryTactics.com ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate got excellent success with it.
I am staying here this coming week.
I will post you ping pong table.
lol excited to play. Great video
Shelby I love your home review!!!!!!!! I respect your perspective over a realtor any day.
Loads of students live in those containers (the way less fancier versions though) in Amsterdam. You got a whole “container city”, basically just stacked up containers. Me and almost all my friends rented a container at some point during university, we all could not wait to get out of there. Haha, but this version looks awesome! The windows with the beautiful views are amazing! Loved the video.
They seem so modern and practical I would love one of them
Yes I will love it too😅
Have you ever been inside the shipping container over the summer?
You don't want it. Believe you me
@@cogitationescaecae1125 if you insulate it correctly youll be fine, or just dont live in the desert lol
Only 200k
At a cheaper price maybe 100k. Better yet you can take away a little of its luxury and make 5 units out of it and rent it out. Also put a locked room solar panel for the renters and have them live almost light free and up the rent. 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Your videos have evolved so much!
THIS VIDEO IS SO GOOD
This channel is so good, all of the tours are not someone trying to sell a house or brag, it is someone’s real opinion.
It's like a mobile home apart from not mobile.
Such high quality of video production though. You are like the perfect typical milenial, I love it😂
Had I not bought a condo I'd look at shipping container homes. I think they're awesome.
Worked at Joshua tree National Monument in the 80s.. There was a couple that had a semi trailer up in the area closer to 29 palms that lived in it. Had steps a porch and windows
Another amazing video by a amazing person
I love there videos!!! Keep them coming!
Pretty cool, I like your channel. Lotsa neat info and you display it well. I particularly like your auto reviews. Actually I like em all....
Hey Shelby, thank you for being amazing.
This place looks like a perfect backdrop to a sleazy horror movie!!!
Appreciate the music that you used for this video , Amazing 👏🏾
Thats actually a really cool house. Also great video!
It's not a house. 3 container on the ground. Isolation zero. Air condition 100% electric. No sun secure.
I love the aesthetic!
Looks really cool!
I love this omg 😍😍👏🏼
Love your videos, I wanted to watch few minutes, and watched entire video, they are on point always!!! Thanks, have a great day)
Yay I love these videos!!!
Containers are really cool things to build on or in, and fun
Im planning to get one near my old house because it's super cheap compared to building from scratch. I have super cool idea to make library using this container and in the middle open space and green trees 😊
And don't forget in the middle of the night you have The Hills Have Eyes people wanting to get inside the container to play
What? Lol
I was along the same thought line.
hey! container homes are amazing! the box hop video in the beginning is mine (:
yes I loved that video! looks like such a cool house!
Shelby Church 😁😁
The windows is what makes this even more awesome for me.
I watched his videos like a year ago! It's so cool to see you checking it out now!
Take advantage of the space to create wonderful, beautiful and modern designs for beautiful and amazing homes. Wonderful and beautiful place, design and imagination. Thank you, beautiful and wonderful video, valuable information and useful thank you Shelby
when i saw the first clip of that house I thought wait a minute I saw that building process somewhere. And then Ben showed up :D
Who’s Ben
All your videos are great or at least most that I have watched so far
Wow. I loved it
honestly, I always said that I wanted a house made of container base. it's just so nice the industrial look
Well done! Keep up the good work.
Thanks for sharing Shelby, I’ve been curious on how these are actually working out.
Very cool and great job on making the video! I was surprised to hear that this was about the same cost of building a home, I thought it would be much cheaper. Maybe sometime in the future you can tour a large tree house or an underground house as part of your alternative living series.
Love these videos!! So interesting. This one has a low key creepy vibe just being plopped down in the middle of the desert tho. Lol
Love you Shelby so much ❤❤😍😍
More hand-stands please! Thank you for the info, very interesting. Thanks for sharing
heya! thank you for this video! This was one of the most interesting container homes. :))
Great video! The B-Roll was wonderfully shot. The price is surprising.
My township just put in 50 30x8.5 shipping container homes. Because it was done by the town, no major permit costs for them, and they got deals from a shipping yard for the containers. Each container cost them about $5,000 to build.
A barn door...nice touch. 😊 Great space savings idea for sure.
love middle of the nowhere accomodation like this.
Looks like a interesting place. Very different. Awesome!
Love the vid!!
Wow literally in the middle of nowhere. That’s so cool. 😎
I used to live around there and hated every minute of it 🙄
i think it is like 5mins from the city lol
seems to work out in the sticks
I’d be terrified to be out there.
I live in twentynine palms and it isn't bad here
These videos are great
9:30 how amazing is that view!!
Cool! Wow! Amazing! Please keep making these great videos and never stop! Thank you! :)
This place is so cool but after watching the move "Nocturnal Animals," I could never stay someplace like that. Also keep up the property videos like this. These are awesome. Just started listening to your podcasts too and I'm really enjoying it
I need to work on doing that handstand. Good job!
The sims 4 just launched a game pack that came with shipping container houses! Love that trend right now 🤘🏻😁
wow what an architecture :))))) amazing architect =))) ps. decorative books are awesome :))
4:15 Imagine coming home and you find out Shelby Church Sliced your Tomatoes for you 😂😂😂... 10 out of 10 would recommend 💯🙌🏼💯😂
Thank you for this so interesting !!!!
Can see why she’s got 1.5mil subscribers. Awesome job! Ben is my new hero. Furniture too? C’mone man! Ya making us look lazy!
I like that guy explaining the true cost of this type of housing. I always thought the tiny house fad was mostly stupid. In my city it's not the cost of the house that's the problem but the cost of the land(minimum $200,000) and the taxes that are the problem!
I agree. What would this house cost if it was in or much nearer to LA? I'm guessing a lot more than $220K total!
I love it 😻
Woooow.what a nice place to live.very relaxing place❤️
nice to know about this option
this is so cool
I was just thinking the other day that quick built homes don't make the cost lower because of infrastructure that needs to be set, like foundation, pluming and electricity. I was thinking this over this 3D printed house that took only two days or so to print. And now I see this video xD.
wow amazing
Fun video,I enjoyed 😉
Very cool and it is pretty close to slab city and Bombay beach for urban exploring.
