Tripedal Crow Records welcome the ambitious MC Wortfetzen with his debut. On the newly established 'One Day EP' he accompanies JahYu with his distinctive vocal style.
This MC stands for music and culture! Wortfetzen is a sound system activist and vocalist from Hamburg, who is deeply involved in the vivid sound system scene, not only as MC but also by helping to string up stacks and organize dances all over town. Before encountering sound system culture he had an enduring passion for music, but it was until he found a voice in himself to really start making music. Regular sessions all over Germany built his repertoire and helped developing his style.
JahYu is a producer who cannot be clearly and permanently pigeonholed. If you often have the feeling with other dubheads of the genre that known paths are always exhausted, he likes to surprise. With releases on Moonshine Recordings, Steppas Records, Woodland Records, among others, he has a resounding name internationally.
On the current EP, the classic UK Steppers sound dominates. To the tracks 'One Day' and 'Fatality' Wortfetzen lends his voice and additionally drives the riddims, which is great for sound systems worldwide. 'We Are Now' is a straight stepper dub with a more digital sonic touch, while JahYu's typical sound of analog and ancient flute, in "Oldskool" reminds of Skream's "Rutten" and thus also of the days of old school dubstep.
