  • Python is a very easy and flexible programming language. I started studying it a couple months ago and have had a blast. You can install Python via the website, or be like me and install it via Homebrew
    00:00 - Intro
00:10 - Xcode Command Line Tools has an earlier version of Python installed
    01:02 - Install Python3
    02:15 - Testing the install

Thank you. It seems like the videos that are around 3 minutes or closer to 10 do the best for me, haha.

Does this not conflict with the 3.9 version installed by x-code? Isnt path going to be pointing to the old one? Because if you do python3 -V it shows the installed 3.9. So doing this is going to cause a conflict right?

No not necessarily. For one they’re store in different locations, but both MacOS and most development apps (PyCharm, VS Code, etc) have methods in place for different versions of languages. That way if a developer wants to test a new update and its features (say 3.12 of Python) without risking the work already done on the current app (made in say in 3.11 or 3.10).
This is actually a video I’ve been working on making for a while, but it’s just taken a bit longer to put together and life has been busy.
TL;DR: it won’t cause a conflict doing it this way, you can have multiple versions installed and select the one you want to use.

@@EasyOSX It would be awesome if you could do a video on the best way to install python on a mac so that you could easily manage different versions and switch between them seamlessly. Thanks

Tuts make just ripped a piece of this video without giving you any credit.

Thanks for letting me know. Just scratched out my user path but didn't even bother to move the lines when it scrolled or take out my voiceover either. Seems like this person is ripping other people's videos and then reuploading them to his channel with some cropping and edits.
Edit: Not all of this video appear to be this way, but seems to be a few of them like this Linux video.
