And here's the pre-Endgame scroll buying spree :D I recall the first time when i played this game, the merchant at the House at the End of Time had only a handful of Free Action scrolls, which made the fights against the Wild Hunt rather unpleasant. How things have changed since then.

Oh yes, and even in a test run that I did a few months before starting the playthrough for the channel I assumed that the merchant at the house also sold those scrolls, and then I was sad lol so now I always make sure to purchase them some time in advance as soon as I see that I have a very nice amount of gold for whatever I may need.
The House at the Edge of Time can be *extremely* annoying especially due to some mages in there that blind and give stat drains and these scrolls just make it a lot more bearable.

If I recall correctly artisans cannot spawn the Masterpiece if you ask for a specific item type. You need to tell the do whatever you want and that allow the masterpiece creation. Do you confirm?

Correct. There are also other requirements to get the masterpiece such as sufficient kingdom stats and doing their quests, but they will only give you their masterpiece if you have all the requirements met *AND* you don't ask for any specific item.

      Pillars of eternity
      Pathfinder

@@CoredumpedGaming and if pathfinder didnt have kingodm mamagment would it be closer to bg1/2 and what about Wrath of the Righteous?

I think it would remain in the same ranking for me. I tend to like Kingmaker better as a game overall compared to WotR, but I do enjoy the new classes, subclasses and mythic progression a lot.
While I'm not much of a fan of the kingdom management or even the crusade, I can live with them for the most part. What makes me like Baldur's Gate and Pillars of Eternity more than the pathfinder games is that I enjoy them more as a whole in terms of story, companions and gameplay and I also find them to be better balanced. The pathfinder games can be a bit too punishing and have a lot of mechanics that in my opinion don't really serve any purpose other than just being annoying.
I suppose another thing I can mention is that I think that Kingmaker has some truly amazing areas, I love the starting dungeons of the old sycamore and the troll dungeon for instance but then we compare it with the house at the edge of time, or the final sections of the game and those are just horrible lol
I think Wrath is not as good as Kingmaker overall, I don't enjoy the companions as much, the levels are uglier and there's a tremendous prevalence of demon type enemies, which I don't particularly enjoy. Oh and don't even get me started on the slab puzzles... Kingdom management in kingmaker and the crusade in WotR being mostly a chore doesn't help either of course. That's not to say that I dislike the games, on the contrary, I still enjoy them very very much and are among my favourites, nothing makes you feel as epic as when you get your mythic levels and can turn into a Lich for example, WotR does that better than any other game in my opinion.
What about you? How would you rank them and what makes you enjoy one over the others?

@@CoredumpedGaming 1. BG2 2. Fallout2 3. Pathfinder Kingmaker ***bg2 is in my opinion simply the best one still (didnt play bg3 there is something that I rly dont find appealing about that game + it doesnt have nice world map). I agree kingmaker is better that wotr . For me the most important thing is immersion with story, music/sounds, graphics, ui and ofc gameplay. I think old 2D top down look for crpgs is the best because it lets u use ur their imagination to fill the gaps (one more minus for bg3 for me)...

Agreed, there's a lot to say about the old 2D Isometric style that just works so well. Nowadays people just want everything voiced and all faces super realistic and full of expressions, which doesn't necessarily do them much favours at times. Fallout 2 is also one of those games that I enjoy a lot, though it's been quite a few years since I played it last.
