    I think I understand Halsey's reasoning as to why she chose John over Kurt, while Kurt was the most charismatic Spartan and a genuine born leader, his mindset was geared too much toward compassion, as opposed to objectives. John is the "Best Sparten" because he has the skills to and will do any job required to complete the mission, and he is more willing to spend life in the field. John and Kurt both have a talent for putting the people around them to the best possible use, the difference is Kurt is less willing to spend lives, John will feal bad when a comrade dies he won't spiral into guilt like Kurt started to do a few times in Ghosts of Onyx. these are just my opinions and observations though.

    • @MrAngelBites
      @MrAngelBites 2 года назад +26

      I never agreed with his decision to not wear his Molinir armor in his last mission. He cited wanting to to essentially fit in with his S-III's but objectively the SPI is inferior, affording less offensive and defensive capacity. A S-II took a hunter round to the chest and walked it off while An S-III took a needler burst to the chest and only got to live another minuet to secure the rear because of the brain hack. Doing everything in his power to accomplish the mission while bringing the most people home was a lesson hard learned by John in the master chief story books, even when he had to trample peoples feeling. Kurt didn't learn that lesson and his team suffered for it.

    If he wasn't a Spartan, he damn well could've been head of the UEG or a huge force for change in potentially bringing the Insurrection to a peaceful end if the Covenant was never in the picture. Honestly, I wish we got Kurt instead of John. He's just so much more of a likeable character who helped literally helped the Human-Covenant war from behind the shadows. Forever my favourite Spartan

    I'vee already made this point in the discord server but I feel like this is an appropriate video to bring the point up again.
    It always bothered me that the Dyson sphere was named Trevelyan rather than Ambrose.
    While the boy that Halsey kidnapped may have been Kurt Trevelyan, that was not the person who sacrificed themself on onyx. He stopped being a Trevelyan when he became Kurt-051, and later he also moved on from that identity and became Kurt Ambrose.
    He had moved on from two previous identities and was intent on keeping the one he had.
    When he donned his SPI armour instead of the mjolnir we see just how much he has left that old identity behind. The mjolnir would have provided him with a much greater advantage in combat but he refused to let himself be separate from his spartans.
    Naming the facility after an identity he had long ago given up feels almost like an insult to his final actions and who he was when he made them. I doubt Kurt would have cared too much about who he was as a child, he was perfectly fine being Kurt Ambrose.
    The naming of it is meant to show that Halsey feels some remorse for her actions and is making some attempt to make up for it but I believe Kurt would have felt much more honored if the facility was named Ambrose.

    The character of Jorge 052 is clearly an inspiration of Kurt's character. Very similar personalities, their death scenario and self sacrifice and of course their huge physical stature. An idea for an installation00 episode would be to cover why Kurt and Jorge were so huge compared to the rest of the spartan II's I know Jorge underwent further augmentations but it's not covered in alot of detail in places

    Secondly will we get Kelly 087 as the most under appreciated spartan. She's honestly my favorite.

    I’m 6’8” so I’d be about eye level with chief even though he’d make me look small with his armor, Kurt on the other hand would make me look like a toddler. That man is gigantic lol, his frame even makes chief look small.

    Ah yes the eternal question, did Eric Nylund think, "How big is 2 metres, about 6ft?" Hence how we end up with a Spartan 2 so much taller than all the rest.

    • @ur-didact1991
      @ur-didact1991 2 года назад

      Spartans were meant to be over 7, at least for the spartan 2s

    • @TCRP117
      @TCRP117 2 года назад

      Yep. So at the "2 metres is 6ft' general rule of thumb 'logic' most people work off, the 2.5 metres would be 7ft 6in. Much more appropriate given every other Spartan height we know.
      This is the same book where there's 3.5m/11ft 6in Sangheili. Another bizarre statistical outlier that makes more sense if an American author just isn't familiar with the metric system. Although even then Xytan would be bafflingly tall for his species.

    Hey Installation00 - I know it might be a bit of a different kind of Halo video to what you usually do, but could you perhaps do a video on the whole "ghost of lockout" bug/urban legend/glitch/whatever have you family of phenomena, exploring it in more detail? To me, it's an interesting topic because there definitely seems to be a technical explanation behind it Vs a supernatural one, but I've been unable to find a comprehensive video on the topic.
