"COME! COME! COME!" sounds too much like "GUN! GUN! GUN!" - It's a training issue. In many police department shooting ranges, the command to open fire is the RSO shouting "GUN!" - So when a pack of half-assed trained officers armed with military grade weaponry are LARPing as JSOC 5 hear *what they think* is someone shouting "GUN!" their instant, knee-jerk no-think reaction is to mow down a teen who clearly does not have a gun. Piss poor reactionary training. They just do and don't think. Had they taken a tenth of a second to look at hands, they wouldn't have shot. They need to reevaluate their entire doctrine from the top down. They had no reasonable fear for their lives as a pack of half a dozen armed men in armor behind cover. They even fan and slice out and to the left to get better shots. This can even happen you on a traffic stop in that jurisdiction. I've been in active combat zones with people actually shooting at us and we had to exercise more control and watch our rules of engagement more than these wastes of space.
Some1 said gun sounds like come. He was shouting "COME COME COME". Id assume that before the report comes out, the death was a direct result of them thinking of gun instead of come. @olimpzeus4115 From where I'm sitting none of those guys appeared to even have their weapons in the fight at the time she was shot. Probably because they were all ducking crossfire, if I had to guess.
@@brqxton8974 from the rounds you see can see impacting the dirt and the concrete barrier I'd say that's probably more than likely what happened. Guys on the on ramp were unloading on that truck.
It amazes me no one said cease fire, over the radio, the second she got out of the vehicle unarmed. Everyone was actively shooting, no one was gonna hear buddy yelling from 75 yards.
exactly it all ends with that statement. No matter what else the blunder was on the fact that the situation was under control and there was no reason to have her running thru a firefight
@pyrojkl problem is they didn't know it was "under control" there is video of cops fire on a car the same way as here and the dude driving puts it in reverse and takes off almost hitting an officer. No one knew he was down, but I don't understand is why they were shooting her
@@Kidtruck29There was gun shots coming out of both sides of the vehicle with a witness that called in saying the passenger side had a gun out the window. I’m not saying it’s true or not but that’s the facts in the moment. The cops in the moment can’t confirm before investigating if it was him, her or both. What they knew for sure is that a person from that vehicle was running toward a cop after they were being shot at. A lot of those cops were far away and couldn’t hear, different lines of sight as to what is happening, etc. so they started shooting someone that in the moment was a possible suspect shooting at them moments ago. The person at fault was the one that told the girl to come to him. Of course the ones that couldn’t hear that is going to react in that situation. The officer should have told her to get out and get down. The rest would have seen she was a surrendered threat (if she was). Unfortunately the cop trying to get her to safety is the one at fault. He was doing the right thing in the worst way.

The cop calling her towards him, then the other officers start shooting her was so fucked up. That initial officer yelling at the others to stop shooting her was brutal.

@@gags730 Completely irrelevant if she was a threat even 1 second ago. At the time she was shot, she was not a threat. The cops can only kill when there's a threat.
Honestly the fact she was even still alive to begin with after that barrage of bullets is a miracle. This is truly heartbreaking. God rest her soul and ease the pain for the officer trying to help.
Yeah, I was wondering why there were so many shootings, considering there's a passenger/hostage in the car... also I thought that cops will have some sort of communication over radio frequencies, instead of just yelling and hoping the other cops hear them over the air where gunshots will definitely be louder.

The amount of cross-fire was insane. The number of rounds fired to just shoot at the moving truck with a hostage inside is just plain strange. The girl was crouched down and was taking directions from the Deputy. The other Deputies needed to be listening to the situation and not just popping off more rounds at anything that was moving. Of course this is from a guy sitting safely at his keyboard in Nebraska.
I just wrote it before, but I think if we stand in one of the other officers that wasnt close to hear, you would also see the problem. It is high stress timing. Your veins are full of adrenaline. Your brain is defaulted back to your training. You suddenly see a person, that was in the vehicle that shot towards you or your colleagues, trying to get up but fell down. You didnt mind it so much, but see that the same person again stands up ducked and walking fast ish towards your colleagues behind a patrol car. You cant see if the person is armed or not, and you know you have to make a split second decision. Do you shot to defend your colleague and stop any more harm, or do you not and risk that your colleagues getting attacked and stabbed? My point being, hearing the audio we do hear the officer giving command to "walk". In hindsight and if it was me, I would rather ordered her to crawl, while me, or me and an other tried to move closer to the pickup truck with aim on the driver, in case that guy wasnt dead to defend her, or move close enough to quickly drag her to safety

That's standard police behaviour. Most police officers join up because they want to kill someone and place absolutely zero value on human life (except the lives of their fellow police officers, of course). If there ends up being proof she was shooting at police as well..... Still doesn't get over her following the officer's commands and not being armed when she was shot..... Definitely a bad scene
Agreed. At times I it sounded like she was. I then wonder how much of it was her Dad telling her too and how scared she was of him if that was the case. And you're right. The still doesn't excuse whomever officer did it after being told to stop shooting and her trying to run over to the officer behind cover.
Doesn't take a genius to figure out that the ONLY reason a 15 year old would shoot at police in this situation is because she was forced by her criminal father. Anyone using this to excuse her death is an idiot.
bro this happened two years ago, police held the video while claiming she had a helmet and armour. They lied, this video is indisputable proof they shot a 15 year old girl and then lied about her.

Right, when it was mentioned she was shot I assumed she was hit by crossfire while the truck was rolling. But it's clear that some officer decided he just wanted to shoot his gun at anything that day, with no regard to human life. I know for a fact some officer out there knows who did it, likely a few. What's more sad is I know they wont come forward and out the murderer they work with, because deep down on a team like that, chances are they feel they would make the same "mistake".
You've said it a million times. Police departments are grossly underfunded and undertrained. Example, my nephew was a cop in a large Metropolitan area in North Carolina and he made $25/hr and encountered the worst humanity had to offer daily. Great response jameses797. I have seen so many times when, just a few days later, the whole picture changes as investigators find more facts. Donut I love your videos. The way you present everything. You show that people make bad choices sometimes, even cops, and that is doesn't make every person bad regardless of their involvement.
The REAL problem with this entire case isn't even the cops having horrible communication, but the fact that the department fought hard in court to keep this footage from even being public over nearly 2 years. They knew they fucked up decided to try and bury what occured to not take any responsibility. How are we supposed to trust that giving departments more money will be effective when we can't even trust these departments to be honest with the communities they claim to serve?
Also all the lies about her having tactical gear, body armor, maybe a gun. Video from that party store shows THAT WAS A LIE. But we know cops, lie, deny, blame the victim.
@generalgrievous2202 it wasn't a cover up it was protection for cops from losers psychos and idiots. When George floyd died everyone jumped on the band wagon and did nothing but hurt their own people and all the good cops. If this was major news people would be back to their BS attackong cops and their own kind over lies from the media that would absolutely claim they just mowed down a girl. They would have manipulated the narrative and cut out all footage of the passenger shots. We know this is a fact. The investigation has to be done without bias. By the time floyds case hit the courts the bodies had 3 different autopsy with 3 different conclusions and a jury with guilty written on their forehead. People as a collective are useless when the narrative and perspective is one side. America has proven you people can't handle the truth. You burn your own cities and murder your own family's over politics that you jave never even contributed to
Imagine calling the Police for seeing someone kidnapped. You hear the Amber alert go out. Then you watch as she's mowed down by the Police you called. Tragic beyond words.

Crossfire, unarmed teenager dying, lack of communication between the cops... SHEESH. Even if it's true that she was shooting out the window with her dad, the cops definitely fucked up on this one considering she was unarmed and complying with the officers demands. CHP definitely has an issue with this one.
Even if she was shooting I am thinking she was being compelled. Her dad probably said you shoot them or I shoot you and that’s her dad so of course she listened… all kinds of fucked up here.
@@DatBoiUKnoexactly. This was an Amber alert situation. Even in the Beltway Sniper situation, where an adult coerced a kid to go on a shooting spree, but the kid chose to willingly, we only gave the adult the Death Penalty. This seems way less cut and dry than that case.
The people online leaving negative comments cease to matter as soon as you just stop reading them. They aren't the type to have the spine to say anything to you in person, they're feeling false security/bravado because of what they inaccurately perceive as anonymity behind a screen. So - once you just stop acknowledging they exist? They effectively don't. Your content and Police Activity are the two best on YT for what really goes on with these situations and it would be a major blow if you were to disappear. Edit: replies are not monitored.
A critique of Donut that should be highlighted as not troll-y is that he tends to focus on the justified police shootings. Now, there are a variety of reasons for this. First off, most police shootings will be justified. Secondly, if it was not justified, the likelihood of the body cam footage being released in a timely manner decreases. Thirdly, Donut is a former officer, he doesn't want to always be criticizing those he respects and understands. Finally, because justified has levels (rarely will you see 100% justified or 0% justified, you're mostly looking at the 25%~75% range). Donut tends to imply that most in that range are justified. Now, are any of these true problems? Idk dude, I am just some guy on the internet. I think it's mostly not a problem as long as Donut isn't your only source of this type of thing, but I can see people taking different stances depending on their view of police. My stance on police is "Most do an alright job, but could probably use some more training and improvement on both a grand societal scale and as individuals. Except the ATF. The ATF is just bad (see: separations of power. And then look at the ATF ignoring that there are different branches of government for a reason)." So... that definitely impact how I feel about most of these types of things.

Hey
Just watched the full solar eclipse in Ohio and I see this awesome
No command and control
You can't let the negativity get to you about a podcast. Screw those people
What a fucking disaster. 🤦♂️
"COME!

Donut - you are such a great agent of positive change in the world, online and in real time. I apologize for not commenting more and showing more gratitude to you. Your channel is my favourite hands down. For starters, your humour is awesome. "Wackers" has become a permanent part of my daily vocabulary. I love that you let us in on the mind of a LEO who has to face the glorious display of human stupidity and keep from falling apart. Second, I feel that you are extremely intelligent and fair when breaking down incidents so we can all understand what has happened. You aren't quick to judge or damn anyone, and I hope that kind of mentality rubs off on a lot more people. I have shared your videos with a lot of people but most importantly, I have shared your videos with my kids who are looking into careers in law enforcement - we all love you and your work.
I would understand if you stopped since the internet wears everyone down eventually, but there would be no replacing you. Yes there are other channels that breakdown LEO interactions but none do it anywhere near as well as you do. Thank you for everything. I hope we do see 1000 and more videos.

Either way, terrible fuckin situation. As much as I support police normally, that's a *massive* fuck-up, she was following commands-
That's standard police behaviour. Most police officers join up because they want to kill someone and place absolutely zero value on human life (except the lives of their fellow police officers, of course). You can see this when they accidentally leave their body cameras running and we get glimpses into the way they speak about people they've just killed. You see them congratulating one another on their first kill, you see them laughing about the 23 year old girl one of them just ran over being of "limited value anyway" and so on and so forth.
I guarantee you none of these police officers will be found to have done anything wrong, just like the army of police officers in Uvalde who stood around checking their dating apps and arresting parents as child after child was slaughtered a few meters away.

Worst case of miscommunication and incompetence imaginable. Hiding and lying about the footage is inexcusable too. These cops should be held accountable for their actions
"COME! COME! COME!" sounds too much like "GUN! GUN! GUN!" - It's a training issue. In many police department shooting ranges, the command to open fire is the RSO shouting "GUN!" - So when a pack of half-assed trained officers with questionable motives for taking the job are armed with military grade weaponry are LARPing as JSOC 5 hear what they think is someone shouting "GUN!" their instant, knee-jerk no-think reaction is to mow down a teen who clearly does not have a gun. This right here should make it a charge. They even fan and slice out and to the left to get better shots. Unjustified terrible shoot. They wanted the video hidden and this covered up because it's going to require a total overhaul in how these clowns are trained and the police department doesn't want to spend the money on that.

Trigger happy! not a trait that you want in authority, Maybe More compulsory range Time would be a start, then actually having some self control ,? just a thought!
Hey i enjoyed this video and your commentary keep it all
Wow!
Great recap of the footage.
You've said it a million times. Police departments are grossly underfunded and undertrained. Example, my nephew was a cop in a large Metropolitan area in North Carolina and he made $25/hr and encountered the worst humanity had to offer daily. He took a job at a smaller department, got a promotion and makes $15 an hour more and doesn't feel like 90% of the people he encounters hate his guts. They lose good officers.
San Bernardino police budget was 92 million I doubt it's underfunding in this case.
@@AztecExtra Most of that budget goes to vehicle, equipment, and building maintenance. Salaries for the higher echelon. Then it finally trickles down to wages and a small percentage left for training
"A large Metropolitan area in North Carolina"
So not Mayberry.
I work in law enforcement in Georgia and actually make less than $25 an hour right now.
Police are not underfunded, they never were, they are undertrained, especially in the common sense part 99% of time.

How are we supposed to trust that giving departments more money will be effective when we can't even trust these departments to be honest with the communities they claim to serve?

Don't feed the trolls
There I fixed it
A critique of Donut that should be highlighted as not troll-y is that he tends to focus on the justified police shootings.
Here is my non-LEO, average carrying citizen, review....All due respect to law enforcement, but why in God's name would you direct a hostage to come to you IN AN ACTIVE SHOOTING...without putting it over the air "I got the hostage coming to me CEASE FIRE!!!"
