Gratitude is a deeper, more profound feeling of appreciation. It encompasses a sense of humility and a recognition of the kindness or generosity of others.
I’m not a DJ. I have a long way to go before I can call myself that. I interview real DJs and musicians. 2 years ago I bought a mixers out of the necessity to salvage my mental health. I was in a dark place and ending my life seemed much more peaceful than living. The goal was never to play live, I just wanted to have a creative outlet so I could feel more connected to myself.
Sometimes people enter your life who wholeheartedly embrace you for who you are and align with all your endeavors.
When I met @djaugustwest in Miami back in March, I did not know our friendship would result in a B2B set at the @bzcannabis conference. I couldn’t ask for anyone better to go b2b. I am grateful for her kindness, patience and love.
To some this may just seem like a party, but to me this means so much more. This experience represents hope, purpose, community, and all the friendships I have connected to music.
Before the set Alexa and I took a moment to open up the space. We sat, grounded and set our intentions for the night. We burned some Sage, prayed and gave thanks. It made the night even more special.
There’s so much more I want to say but I’m limited by the platform. Good people can walk into your life at a moments notice. I invite you all to celebrate Alexa and I on a major accomplishment for both of us. This would not have been possible without her generosity, trust and belief.
