  • My first visit to the office since starting as a trainee solicitor as my firm - of course I had to take you all along with me! I was weirdly excited for this - working from home is great, but starting a new job from home was tough. I was super motivated when working in the office too, so will probably be making more trips in the future 🤟🏽
    Watching ‪@RanveerKaur‬ 's video where she went back to the office was actually what initially made me feel a type of way about the office, and inspired me to trek into London too. You can check out her two back to office vlogs here:

    I love your Chanel and wanted to say your work is important to many brown and black girls in UK. I have introduced your Chanel to my niece who is currently studying really hard for her GCSE's, she is an aspiring solicitor. Your content shows to her that her dreams are valid and at her reach. She is currently thinking about getting work experience. What would you advise her regarding getting a job/experience at her age? How should she start? Please advise? Thank you 🤩😍

      thank you so much!! I'm old fashioned, I hand write my to do lists, because I like crossing it out by hand LOL. I also write a new to-do list per day :) I also really like Ciara's to-do list idea on outlook re colour coding. I want to do that for my calendar - so having my holidays are in purple, team meetings in yellow or something LOL.

      It depends on what you enjoy. I am also looking to have a career in law (currently a second year student) and have decided to go into family law, just because is what i enjoy the most and feel most passionate about. Go with what you enjoy, because you don’t want to work a job you dont enjoy! Whatever module you enjoy the most, go with it, you probably wont make up your mind until the end of your studies, but just distinguish what you like from what you don’t. Hope this helps :)

    • @simranjeetkmann
      @simranjeetkmann  3 года назад

      I’ve met lawyers with piercings and tattoos, I’d like to think the profession is more open to these. When we think about it, what does a lawyer even look like? It’s subjective - don’t let you having a nose piercing put u off. I’d like to think firms care more about your competency rather than appearance

    • @janesmith9024
      @janesmith9024 3 года назад

      My child asked for feedback after a rejection - tongue stud was the reason. Took it straight out. Now fully qualified London lawyer. I would say ditch the piercings although it may just depend on the firm.

      Essay subjects are highly recommended, but not any subject in particular. Most people take english literature, history, politics and stuff like that
