the thing bout Chappelle that i've noticed is, hes doing comedy for himself not for the audience anymore. hes not succumbing to what we want to hear or think what will make us laugh. hes telling jokes now a days that make him chuckle. this in turn has made his jokes more thought provoking. Love Carlin but towards the end he was so bitter and angry. I think In these times he's more relatable to some because they are bitter or angry in life and they tape into.
Notice that you never called him a liar. Of course his angry and bitter, the reason is because the "american bullshit" as he called it was at his all time high, so he had to point it out.
Carlín’s 2nd ONLY to Richard Pryor. Right now?! Pryor, Carlin, Chappelle, Murphy, Rickles. Chappelle’s touching topics, only Carlin would’ve dared in the age of spin and wokeness. However, RAW should be mandatory curricula in every college or university.
I’d like to see Schultz and Che sit down on a podcast 1 on 1. Akaash can come too, but I don’t want Charla, I don’t want distractions getting in the way of comedians thoughts when they are breaking down what makes funny and how it happens scientifically.
Yeah. Out of all these comments surprised it’s yours that mentions that. Che is a comedian so it’s his subject and charla just simply doesn’t really know what he’s talking about.
@@dame7526 also, what the heck is Charla saying about Chappelle at the end? He doesn’t think Dave isn’t the best thing going right now? I was impressed at the respect the comedians gave Charla to not burn him for that stupid ass analogy

Carlin said many times that it was immoral to "punch down" literally his words - and he was talking about folx like Chapelle now - attacking minoritized groups when you have a large platform is not the way to go -
1000000% the case. And not only does Chappelle punch down and disenfranchised groups, he considers himself a brave hero for doing so, and his audience applauds him for confronting wokeness. It's perverse. Carlin wouldn't respect Chappelle. Besides Chappelle runs around talking about how great he is all the time. Carlin never did that bullshit. Carlin was important. Chappelle is funny. People apparently don't understand the difference.
Che is already in that Carlin-esque mode, Charlamagne. His whole bit on Black Lives Matter was on that level. It's gonna take Garfield another couple decades to mature in that fashion, if ever, lol. More likely he'll get more right-wing if anything, as he ages...
To an extent I agree wit Charlemagne in regards to Dave...when he jus speaks u know something good and informative is gonna come out...his comedy has became an extention of that as well tho...
@Dean Ambrose that’s literally wat he’s saying tho. He doesn’t agree with Micheal Che’s politics, but that doesn’t stop him from appreciating his comedy.
Dave siting down and Dave standing up are two different people and as Dave ages he gets to be more and more like Carlin with out trying to become him Just naturally aging into a old dude
Nah. Carlin didn't punch down at the disenfranchised. Chappelle does it all the time and think he's a hero for doing it. Carlin understood that mockery and satire was a tool against the powerful, Chappelle doesn't. Also, when you consider which comic played the more IMPORTANT role, it was Carlin hands down. Anyone can make people laugh. Carlin took on the powerful establishment and he did it fearlessly. He made the people of his time actually think and question the world in which they lived. Chappelle does the same kind of "observational" humor that had been done for decades.
Well the reason no comedians today come close to Carlin maybe with the exception of Chappelle,Burr,Rock and Louis and definitely Patrice [RIP] is because nobody even comes close.....🤷♂️
Another thing that is relevant is that Carlin needed the money. A lot of comics wouldn't keep doing comedy at that point in life or when they have that outlook on people. Needing to do comedy at that age despite having a cynical outlook plays a big part into why we might not see that from other comics.

You have to follow him down his rabbit hole to get the joke. it has opened up knew ways of telling jokes. the man could tell you a long story that makes you feel all types of emotions but then all of a sudden 15mins later he hits you with the punch line when you least expect it and totally has you laughing, even when you dont necessarily agree with the stances of the joke.
It’s not the age thing, it’s about giving a shit
I would have thought that John Stewart deserved a mention.
As much as I love my black comics, hands down George Carlin is my #1 (then Chappell, and Patrice O’Neal)
The world needs Patrice back so hard right now. If we could put Chappelle and Burr together we could have it. It’s a bold statement.
Why you always make stuff about race damn just be a fan of comedy
@@devinsilva2102 There's a difference between white and black humor. There's nothing wrong with recognizing the differences in our races and cultures. I don't trust people who want to sweep it under the rug. Those people tend to have the most bigoted, ignorant thoughts.
That’s sad
@@devinsilva2102 I mostly agree on this. It’s the same thing as who is the best for the job. You’re either great, good, ok, or you suck. The best person gets the opportunities regardless of race, or gender. Common sense.
Carlin walked the walk, talked the talk and eventually some of us were lucky enough to hear/see him converse on reality and absurdity of the American system etc.
My fam, this shit went! (Like perfectly lubricated car parts). First off, Charlemagne is the OG subject presenter. He is so authentic in his interest. Makes everyone (viewer included) chime-in like “yeah, let’s talk on THAT!”
Where did it go?
Comedians and majority of podcasters are too scared to speak on the things that Carlin did, as they will lose there sponsors etc.
Carlin early stuff was amazing… they don’t know what their talking about.
Dick Gregory is a better comedian than George Carlin. Dick Gregory said whatever he wanted too and he didn't have the complexion for the protection. Dick Gregory on another level
That’s so true never heard it phrased like that before “Dave the performer has to catch up with the man” kinda true, brilliant comedian but still his jokes aren’t as big as his persona/thinking
Love Carlin but towards the end he was so bitter and angry. I think In these times he's more relatable to some because they are bitter or angry in life and they tape into.
Agree. Old Carlin was a grouchy geezer. Thought provoking, but not hilarious.
Carlin was a drug addict who abused his own daughter, he's not the hero low iq leftys make him out to be
Eddie is the funniest natural comic.
"Chappelle’s touching topics"
lmao. uneducated?
Schulz wants to be cool so you knew who he’d put on top.
I’d like to see Schultz and Che sit down on a podcast 1 on 1. I don’t mean to be rude to Charla, or to The Flagrant team, but I’d love to see those two just talk comedy for like 2, 3 hours comedian to comedian.
I would put rock with Richard and Dave with George just style wise. George talking about religion is the funniest thing as well how ridiculous ppl are while in groups
A fake activist with little knowledge of what he talks about and semi racist? Yeah ok
Not even close , he’s partisan doesn’t talk in human terms and talks about subjects for attention - reactionary
Che speaking gospel. Carlin is the GOAT. Drew needs to study up .. And my fav currently are rock and chapelle.
Pryor and Chappell is better
T~Shirt Block Effect
Che went up a few levels for me by mentioning Patrice
I'm Carlin 🤣😭
I thought Charlemagne’s favorite stand up was Dice Clay
To an extent I agree wit Charlemagne in regards to Dave...when he jus speaks u know something good and informative is gonna come out...his comedy has became an extention of that as well tho...
Schulz calls himself a comedian and has almost no knowledge of Carlin. Sad. He probably thinks he was too woke.
Schulz is more entranced with being the ‘cool comic’ and much less concerned with knowledge and speaking about things that really matter
Schulz calls himself a comedian because he's funny on stage, because that's all a comedian needs to be 🤦🏾♂️
I think Carlin would be too lefty for Schulz...he probably knows about his though.
I love Michael Che. He's a great comic. And that's coming from a conservative. Feel free to have him on more often.
Conservative aka racist 🤡
?? what does being a conservative have to do with anything? Che doesnt pander to anyone so that was random lol
@Dean Ambrose that’s literally wat he’s saying tho. He doesn’t agree with Micheal Che’s politics, but that doesn’t stop him from appreciating his comedy.
Dave siting down and Dave standing up are two different people and as Dave ages he gets to be more and more like Carlin with out trying to become him
Just naturally aging into a old dude
Someone should introduce CTG to Paul Mooney...
Che and Schulz at last, get my boy on flagrant?
Well the reason no comedians today come close to Carlin maybe with the exception of Chappelle,Burr,Rock and Louis and definitely Patrice [RIP] is because nobody even comes close.....🤷♂️
I remember Carlin on shiny time station or something. That’s probably the shit that gave him all that perspective.
What the hell are you talking about? Do you even know?
@@artistryartistry7239 ruclips.net/video/R8gABzvBJYk/видео.html
Another thing that is relevant is that Carlin needed the money. A lot of comics wouldn't keep doing comedy at that point in life or when they have that outlook on people. Needing to do comedy at that age despite having a cynical outlook plays a big part into why we might not see that from other comics.
Where are you getting this information?
@@BP-or2iu that he needed the money? An interview with John Stewart and Judd Apatow regarding the movie discussed carlin‘s return to the stage as in part due to owing crazy amounts of taxes.
@@grayson6451 Damn, that’s wild. I wonder if he just didn’t pay them or get got fucked over by an accountant like so many celebrities?
During Carlin’s last specials, he stole wholesale from Bill Hicks.
Chappelle isn't as special as he thinks he is. Carlin was waaay better.
Facts
I agree with half of your statement, i think Chappelle is one of the greats. And yes Carlin is the goat.
Charlamagne shouldn’t talk about comedy. But this was a good discussion about George.
Louis ck is well ahead of Rock, Chris said so himself
Uh yeah, anyone who understands comedy knows this.
this cat is the only reason SNL has been at all bearable in the last decade.
Check out simon king for the same Carlin energy and commentary
Stanhope and hicks my guys
… rock is a beast .
Bill Burr & Dave Chappelle.
Love Dave but Carlin is the goat ...
Thats cap Carlin wasn’t funny Chappell is
Shoutout to Andrew for helpin to keep Patrice's name and legacy alive. He is the Goat imo and im glad someone as prominent as Andrew exists in this generation of comedy and show him love.
Bill Burr literally started a festival in his honor.
Wow, you seriously think Patrice was the GREATEST OF ALL TIME? A guy who pedaled heavily in black stereotypes on the Opie and Anthony show for a paycheck for years? Better than Pryor? Better than Carlin? Better than Chappelle? Better than Rock? Better Louis CK? Dude you are truly lost and uninformed.
@@artistryartistry7239 he is as funny, profound, insightful and intelligent as any of them and more prophetic than the rest except for Carlin. Im not uninformed i just know what i know and how i feel. Patrice did a lot more than what you just claimed and if you were to ask the ppl you just named they would tell you the same thing. Minus pryor and carlin but they didnt know him im gonna guess. You feel how you do and thats fine but dont try and invalidate my opinion to prove yours is better, thats ho shit.
@@colderman I don’t think he’s the GOAT but this dude is a Tool who can’t see the glaring similarities between Rock and Carlin.
Carlin, Pryor, Chapelle, Cosby.
We're done here.
Jimmy Dore is the only comic using his platform advocating for truth!!!
He did so much for Patrice that he ate his legacy. My dude, run a lap
You are a super clown 🤡
Lol
Stanhope is the closest to Carlin right now
Chris Rock would put Carlin over himself.
If Charlemagne could only use this same logic to his music analysis. Maybe he could see his hypocrisy towards Eminem.
She taught she was exposing him when she only exposed HERself
Michael Che is Fruity
I don't agree with Che, because Carlin was doing that kind of social commentary even before he was 70. Comedians nowadays are big fucking weenies, that are more interested in punching down, than challenging themselves to call out the powers that be, because ultimately the powers that be are the ones that pay them.
what Chris brown does is NOT fuckin graffiti 😒😒🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Where’s Wax?
