The one thing that I remember was the amazing art work on the boxes.

You kept it in great shape with those rubberised chains. Thanks for using that microphone. Gimmicks add more value to collectibles, it's more fun.
Lots of memories watching this and Yeap the inside was really underwhelming where greyskull was everything on the inside. However the mic was awesome! Thanks for sharing!

Wow! I had one of those when I was a kid! I find amazing now, I could spend so many, many hours, totally entertained by such a simple toy! Videogames where not that good at the time and a plastic playset, some action figures and a little imagination could be way more fun! This was super fun to watch , near 30 years later! I just heard today that there´s a Masters of the Universe movie planed for 2019 and I got all nostalgic and looking MOTU videos. I´m glad I did! Thanks for posting!
I thought ColecoVision was killer and so did my cousin. That would have been 1982. Had one.
This thing is still extremely cool, but I'd never have asked for one as i didn't care about the tv show. Amazing it's got everything and still works.
My brother and I would always use the snake puppet from The Frightzone with this play set. It seemed to work perfectly for the cave on the side of the castle.
Killer! My little bro had this! Wow, I never really appreciated just how thoughtfully detailed this thing was--It's really awesome!
Saw this in a second hand store today. The gate at the top was missing, but it was mostly complete with working microphone.

Being your first review you did alright. However, I didn't hear anything new from your review. And it would have been nice to see you actually put a He-Man character on the play set to show scale and playability.
I have a hollowed petrified tree log that i usd as snake🐍mountain still have it. I have yet to own an original snake mountain play set
As a child I had a table full of He-Man action figures. I had Castle Grey Skull, Snake Mountain, the Attack Track, The Rotan, the Battle Armor and Flying Fists versions of He-Man and Skelator and many action figures all facing off like two armies.
Cobra Con could be filled with water to spray out his mouth at enemies and Orko had a spinning pivot point under him you started with a rip cord so he ran around.
It's a shame that didn't do something for figures on the inside they cheaped out

You got one with a perfect paint job with the nice gray, purple mix and the shiny, green snake with the bright yellow bands! Some of them have a dull, green, colored snake with faint, dark yellow, bands. That dark patch on the bad sheep's head, adds character too! I like that it's face has the slots on it's snout, instead of those silly, cheap looking little holes that European? sets have.

Great review but it's weird to me that Grayskull was so epic - and the Snake Mountain not so great (you can only really use the front) and then the Fright Zone was even worse. Yet all were $50 retail in Australia. Most of Snake Mountain was useless in terms of playability - it was pretty much like you had to have the villains standing OUTSIDE the front of their house - where was the throne room for Skeleton and his henchmen to plot against He-Man? And also - the plastic chains on the front broke so easily. It should have been called Wolf Mountain to be honest as the face and the microphone were wolves :-(
Never had this playset before now I bought on ebay for my classic figures gonna do some re design custom paint and some replacement would be awesome.. Love the design. Besides the new snake mountain is great but expensive and too big for display

I received this as a birthday present when I was 5 so 1986. My mom took the battery out of the microphone after I had it less than 24 hours. I'm 38 and I still remember that.
that's alot scarier than I remember. mostly I just remember the mic and annoying everyone at home
i just got one for 80 bucks...missing the shackles and the bridge.......i just bought the shackles for 10 bucks on ebay....now i need the bridge...i might complete it all for under 140 bucks...

You need to not have the TV on when you make these.
That black giant microphone looks like the sort of toy not suitable for children.
