Even in the unbalanced only poorvang and uttarang raag . Maam expanded it so well with her sweet voice.
But when shudhswar bhoop and jog with both gandhar was sung. We can see the balance in a raag...

two adjescent notes can be omitted in either the aroha or awaroha, but not altogether....so you wont have a raga which omits two consecutive notes completely, both ways...

      @@RagaQuest म्हणजे e.g.
      SmPDNS'-S'NDPmS

Is there any raag which has 4 notes either in aroha or avaroha ??? I read somewhere that there are some raagas having 4 swaras and called as "Surtar jati".

Raga Hindol technically has four swara, Sa, Ga, Teevra Ma and Dh. But then even there, Ni is feetingly used in the awaroha. I have not heard of any Surtar Jati..

There is a Raag by the name "Bhavani" containing only four notes - Sa, Re, Ma, Dha. Raag Bhavani is Introduced by Pt Shankar rao Vyas & Pt Narayan rao Vyas - modified from Raag Durga (five notes), by eliminating Pa from it.
