Hammer Time Episode #7 - "What motivates our current elites?"

- This episode of Hammer Time explores how the "moral licensing" phenomenon, where people believe they can act immorally due to fighting for a perceived greater good, shapes the behavior and rhetoric of the political left in the West, specifically in Germany and the US.
Key Takeaways:
German companies are using diversity as a public relations strategy to distract from economic problems and appease the left-leaning government.
The left uses the accusation of fascism as a tool to smear their opponents, avoid engaging with actual policies, and justify authoritarian measures.
Moral licensing allows left-leaning politicians and activists to act hypocritically, ignoring the rules they impose on others.
This phenomenon is rooted in a quasi-religious struggle against a perceived "evil" that justifies almost any action.
The left often uses a simplistic, binary framework by identifying their political opponents as Nazis and advocating for the opposite, regardless of policy merits.
This strategy serves to stifle debate and emotionally blackmail the public into supporting left-wing causes.
Dankeschön Ralph for clearly speaking out what's going on.
@sigridsimml7440 Thanks you!
It takes all my resolve to remain silent when certain people claim to care about climate change yet behave in a completely hypocritical way, a neighbour of mine suggested i get rid of my car & cycle to work to help save the planet, she has a wood burner that she claims her husband needs because he works hard saving the planet, she dry cleans all his suits & shirts , is always flying off on holiday yet expects me to cycle up & down hills just so she can feel morally superior. It drives me mad. Best not to fall out with neighbours so i just ignore her. The best tactic for these people, i think.
Wood is completely CO2 neutral. It takes from the air while it grows and gives back when it burns.
Another excellent talk from you Ralph, thank you 🙏
@@ctheo13 Thank you!
Great analysis.
Hi Ralph! Very clear definition of what it means projecting on another. And with the Abis staring at you, that one becomes evil himself - is also very very accurate. It may become a potential danger.
"One must test all idols with a hammer: to see if they are hollow."
Friedrich Nietzsche
Brilliant speech! Cheers from Germany
Thanks!
When we cry we are fighting evil in the name of and for our children it gives us the rights to do almost anything to others :(
👋 Hello to everyone from Airstrip One 🇬🇧
Just sipping on my Victory gin 🍸 now.
Thanks very much! Ralph we love the way you analyse and certainly Moral License explains a lot. What I would like to ask you is now that we know that, how does it help? How will this knowledge change anything? I feel awash in words but very short in actions and plans. We've never had so many words coming our way from so many worthy people and whilst you could argue knowledge is power, words do not seem to change the skewed reality some of us live in.
That's very true! Let me try to answer this during the next episode.
Agree whole heartedly! Some off us from a Christian background have been taught to turn the other cheek. TIME TO STOP TURNING THE OTHER CHEEK. Fight or flight mode is in our nature, seems we only adhere to the one. A famous rock star I love said in the lyrics to one of his songs, " If you want a little peace, sometimes you got to fight!" Take that as you will...
After thinking about my comment I wanted to make it clear that when speaking of the Fight or flight mode. I am not advocating violence in any way. I am implying that concerned citizens should find people of like mind within their communities talk it out, air your concerns and take action, speak out. Gather together in non-violent protests. Speak your mind. Speak to your community leaders about your concerns. Get out and vote. Become more active in your community rather then sitting back and watching and hoping someone else will do it for you. Go to your schools, find out what they are teaching or maybe indoctrinating your children with. Easier said then done. But action speaks louder then words as you have very well pointed out.
@FrankRE0513 This is how I understood your comment, which rings true to me.
@@ralph-schoellhammerthanks very much Ralph 👏👏
Hypocrites and liars all. They have utter disdain for the truth and utter contempt for us lesser mortals who are trying to live our lives with dignity and respect .
Like Zuckerberg $400 million superyatch with 4 massive diesel engines what a joke

Jakob Augstein is the son of Martin Walser (and of Rudolf Augstein's wife for three years, Maria Carlsson) - Rudolf Augstein only adopted him.
True!
Ah, you mentioned it yourself, I overheard it the first time...
"elites"
first and foremost I greatly appreciate your reasoning, your analysis, though I have wanted to say... as I find it hard to believe that you are not aware of the actual circumstances, despite the fact that that is clearly the case with so many, about whom I would have a much milder version of the same estimation...
does the same moral licensing not apply perfectly to contemporary and historic israeli/zionist conduct...?
Ok, but how many people actually read Der Spiegel? I see commentators like yourself making a fuss about newspapers and magazines, but what difference does it make if no-one reads them?
NB: I just checked Der Spiegel circulation. Latest figures I could find were 724,000 print copies (2022) and 295,000 online readers (2023). That's just over a million readers in a nation of over 80 million people. And I would imagine that their readership is already quite left-wing anyway.
I understand that you need to illustrate your point, but it seems to me that Der Spiegel is not really going to have any effect on public opinion - certainly not on anyone who is already open to voting for the AFD.
