Hmm, so this particular watch is €40k. Well last year I bought one of these, a black dial 16520 from 1993, a so called s-series. The patina on the rings is similar to this one, a sort of yellowish/beige discolouration. But I did not pay €40k but a little over half that amount. For a 16520 to be worth 40k the patrizzi patina must be much darker I think, as this watch and my watch only got a light patina it’s not a huge premium, maybe just a small one so if anyone get more than €26-27 for a full set I think they are lucky. But of course the price could increase in the future.
That is interesting, but i guess it depends on what the collector wants. Some might not want that amount of patina, while still enjoying the collectability of these particular watches. Thanks for sharing 😊
Hello mate. The patrizzi dials have surfaced up to P serial all the way from R serial. Although Later U,A and P series were luminova. But have seen many. Also this watch in the video doesnt have a strong patina. It considered to be very mild. Hence the price is very high for this. Otherwise good content man. Keep it up 👌👌
Thanks for the information! This one does have light patina, but maybe someone prefers that? And the patina will keep getting more intense Thanks for the nice words :)
I think you are a little off with your dates. The 116520 was introduced in the early part of 2000, not 2002. Also the inner & outer boxes that you're displaying are aftermarket.
You are correct about the yearof the 116520, i misspoke. But the boxes are definitely the original, you see the watch i am showing is an early example with the „thin hands“ and those came in the wooden box in a cardboard shell. Only after 2005 Rolex started using the wave pattern boxes. You shouldn’t just claim something like this without even saying why you believe this
Thank you for your speedy response. I am not questioning the style of box, but I am questioning the actual box itself. The green colors on the outer box look completely wrong, and the inner pillow and flap look incorrect on the green inner wooden box. Take a picture from the bottom of the box, that should clear up any questions. Also, when have you seen a 1990s Rolex inner box without the word ROLEX on the right inside?
Thank you for clarifying! To be honest I’m not an expert on vintage rolex watches and even less on the boxes. So all i can say is the watch store where i filmed this video is very trustworthy, we have been working with them for a while now and he wouldn’t knowingly sell a watch in an aftermarket box. But thanks for your comment :)
Super interesting! Totally get why such a unique piece is so expensive. Great video as usual, always looking forward:)
Thank you so much! 😊
Really insightful and well made!
Thank you very much for the feedback 😉

You sure on that figure? Because I have given up some really nice collections Rolex and cash to own my patrizzi 7 years ago in NYC
I am not sure what you are saying? Do you think it should be more expensive? Because the ones that are on the market are around that price

thanks!
You do not show the watch.
What do you mean? I show many videos of the Daytona. You should watch the whole video 😉
@@TheWatchScientists Do this exercise, chronometer how much time the watch is on screen and how much you, then get the %.
