    - The lady interviewed is Dr. Louise Bennett, the first person to extensively compile Jamaican culture and also bring it to Europe / the UK.
    - Much or maybe all of the monochrome footage is taken from 'This is Ska' (1964) [ ruclips.net/video/usbF108onhU/видео.html ] The band in most of these videos is Byron Lee and the Dragonaires.
@29:00 they sing the folk song 'Hold him Joe (Donkey waan water)'
@31:10 that's King so High recorded by 'Ras Tafari Youth Group' in 1954 (I think) [ ruclips.net/video/GG6YzNG1-Tk/видео.html ] and same melody with different lyrics by The Mellow Cats & Count Ossie - Rock a man soul in 1960 [ ruclips.net/video/z1er6n_m8po/видео.html ]
    @ 36:44 They play Winston & Roy feat. Count Ossie - Babylon Gone [ ruclips.net/video/eBRAfDe88Xk/видео.html ]
    - I love how the producer is eating while the singer records at 47:30 :-)
@48:50 that's Pathé footage of the Windrush carrying Jamaican immigrants to the UK (1948). They meet a Calypso / Mento singer and ask him to sing a song. [ ruclips.net/video/QDH4IBeZF-M/видео.html ]
