Now add spinning backfist, flying knee, high kick, wheel kick, question mark kick, Take down/Take down feints to the punches I have mentioned. The opponent not only have to anticipate getting hit in the head, but also to the legs as well (equal importance here). Now ask yourself is one year enough for a boxer who has structured his neurological system to use only 2 limbs as the ultimate source of wrecking havoc at times of adversity to suddenly expect to adapt to what MMA demands. Hell no. Boxer would get killed in the octagon in the first round.
