He is the best lyricist in germany his bars are out of this world if you could understand it it would completly blow your mind i think i didnt even hear this level of wordplay in english rap..and i listen to rap my whole life he is definetly on Eminem and rakim level i know you dont understand it but his bars are so hard even german people need time to understand

The lyrics are so good, sometimes his punchlines and comparisons just leave you speachless, or make you laugh for half a minute, while maintaining 4-6 syllable rhymes over and over again. Good punchline example would be Angeberprollrap Infinity
i listen to all kind of rap and hip-hop and yet i have never seen anybody doing it like Kollegah. In Germany people tend to say he is rapping Off-Beat - which might was true for a relatively short time but this guy researched and even invented so many new Flows for Geman Rap.

I always said this dude is on the level of Eminem without a doubt for me. I would even say it wasn’t 100% sure until his last 2 albums dropped, but what he did there will ever be untouched in German rap history forever.

The problem is the puns that Kollegah is using are incredible, but you can´t get them, if you are not a german native speaker. His whole rap is actually almost about the crazy puns. For example: "Ich hab oft meine Finger im Spiel wie der Zahnarzt von ´The Game´ ", which means word by word: "I often have my fingers in the game like the dentist of ´The Game´ (the rapper)". But he means he often participates in dubious businesses, which can get him killed (the game) or maybe literally the rap game. This is just one pun of like 40-50 puns in this song.

It's not translatable.
Just like American comedy, like stand-up. It relies on so much on wordplay. And of course, in case of rap, on rhymes! It's even hard to translate poetic songs like that of Bob Dylan into German. But it works to a much better extend than trying to translate a German rap song into English or vice versa.
I also hate dubbed sitcoms or comedy cartoons like South Park or Seinfeld.
As soon it was possible for me to get the original versions of American TV shows/movies, via internet, I never went back. Now if I sometimes see a dubbed sitcom on German TV, I really have to shake my head. It's so ridiculous sometimes. Sitcoms are getting filmed in front of a live audience in the US. So you can hear the people laughing on set. The German dubbed versions all have a silly laugh track/canned laughters. It sounds so stupid.
The only case in which I think dubbed versions are acceptable, are for crime shows. Yeah, it's not the same but nothing really gets lost in the process of translation.
That one is rather a bad bar tbh. And it's, once again, taken from the Mzee-forum
The problem is... his lyrics is 100% the best on this earth. The rymes are so crazy.. the plays with the words in german language crazy

Junge was soll er dazu sagen? Bei so einem Text kann halt leider nur ein Muttersprachler was vernünftiges zu sagen. Kollegah ist leider für Leute, die kein deutsch sprechen, nicht der Richtige zum reacten, denn bei Kolle ist halt die Lyrik das große Steckenpferd.
Deswegen laufen Reactions von Amis eher, wenn die sich 187 oder so reinziehen, weil da mehr der Vibe im Vordergrund steht und dafür muss man nicht gerade den Text verstehen können.. 😌

To me Kollegah has many ways of rapping in a character. For example all the Zuhältertapes (engl. "pimp tapes") sound different than Alphagene or his other Albums like King or Imperator.

But this ist "just" a cool rhyme. There are many more lines, which are make sense only in German. He uses Words which sound like other words. Even as a German Person you have to hear a song 5 times and than you gonna understand. :D

Translation: "My daily business consisted of tours and taxis for too long like a Noble family"
Hint: There is a Noble family with the name "Thurn und Taxis" and it is spoken out like "Tour'n und Taxis"

There is people here in Germany that talk bad about Kollegah, but thats just because they can't handle how superior he is with lyrics, rhyme-chains, cadence, swag.
