When the police searched Gacy's house they found a jacket, that matched the one that Robert Piest, was last seen wearing, the crime scene tech that found the jacket, Don Dermaux found a film receipt in the pocket, from the pharmacy where Piest worked, Officer ( later sergeant) Dermaux took that receipt to the pharmacy, and pulled the processed film, in the photos, was a picture of a girl that also worked in the store, she was questioned, and she revealed that earlier in the evening that Robert Piest was last seen she had borrowed his jacket and after putting the film in for processing had placed the receipt in the pocket, thus establishing beyond all doubt that the jacket was indeed his, that led to a further search of Gacy's property, in which the additional evidence was found, Gacy did in fact have last words, on his way to the death chamber at Stateville Penitentiary one of his guards told him " if you have anything to say John, now would be a good time, hoping that he would finally reveal the names of some of his victims that had not been identified or if he had killed others and what he might have done with their remains. The woman who marries a man on death row, and lets her child get to know him as a father is a truly messed up person. You can teach your child love and tolerance in healthier ways. Work at a soup kitchen. Visit people in a nursing home. You will be making someone's life so much better. Someone who deserves love and compassion. (edit: everyone deserves love and compassion. Innocent people who are suffering might deserve more.)
That is an appalling thing to me. I know there are these weird women who have a fetish for condemned men, but bringing her daughter into it, making a man like that the child's adoptive parent, it's just beyond disgusting. And if that condemned man had any redeeming decency he would have refused and told her to find a better man to fill that role, which would not have been hard to do. Not that I'd expect him to do the right thing though. He was just a scumbag who murdered elderly ladies and he was allowed to breathe the same air as the rest of society for way too long.
That's a moral conundrum - donating your organs to hospital and choosing death by firing squad. The squad must have been very careful where they put their bullets.
I think Aileen Wurnose was without a doubt out of her mind and a victim of circumstance and a very sad story she should have been put in a mental hospital for all of the crimes that she endured as a child.

Gary Gilmore is the most interesting killer in modern history, his psyche was broken because in prison when young to try to control him the authority forcibly injected him with a drug every day for 6 months not realising that he was one of the few for whom suffered severe side effects, it was in effect one of the worst and most sustained periods of unbroken torture ever endured by a Human on record after which Gilmore stated he no longer felt like he was looking through his own eyes. He was also Harry Houdini's illegitimate grandson and grew up with his mother living in Houdini's house. The most important fact you missed though is that it was Gilmore's demands at trial that led to the reintroduction of the death penalty in America, despite it not being fully removed from federal statue the last death sentence carried out before Gilmore was in 1966 and most Americans thought that they had left this behind as a culture, Gilmore challenged that assumption which it can be argued led to every American execution that followed.
@@croach2194 Gilmore's whole life was tragic, his grandfather refused to acknowledge him or his mum even though they were living in his house. There is also the chance he was sexually abused as a child because just before he carried out the murder and robberies he began displaying paedophilic behaviour too, he started seeking a relationship with an underage girl (if memory serves she was the niece of a relative or his girlfriend) of 13 or 14 years old. All he wanted was to die at the end, he couldn't face the prospect of life behind bars. He even sacked his lawyers at one point because they were trying to stop him getting the death sentence, this delayed the trial and execution which otherwise would have been served in 1966 as opposed to Jan 1977. Earl Dorius was one of his lawyers and he passed away just last year.

It's probably one last show of power over his victims and their families. Absolutely awful, I'm thankful they never wound up doing that. His bother said they never did because of the outrage they faced.
I hope his Mom took the Ashes silently and spread them there. Even though Bundy did what he did, they surely have no right to decide where his ashes go. Besides, I'm sure the remains of his victims were returned to their families and buried where those families chose.
It's to allow appeals, just in case there were any errors in the trials. Since the moratorium was lifted by the Supreme court in 1976, there hasn't been a single innocent executed.
I never could understand why prisoners on death row are given whatever they want for their last meal. They do not deserve even the slightest mercy. This IMO should never be given them as they did not afford their victims any mercy. A green bologna sandwich is all they should be given if any. Just get it overwith and move on to the next!

It seems to me that Aileen’s murders were purely for revenge. Of course, she didn’t really care who was going to be the victim of her anger. Her world was disgusting and ugly and had been that way forever, yet it wasn’t that way for other people at all. Life had played a very cruel trick on her, in which men and sex were a constant. I used to be against the Death sentence but if there is absolutely no doubt and if there is no remorse then the Death Sentence is really the only sentence that can ease the pain for those affected.
I used to share your point of view(s); I went back and forth for many decades until I settled on the belief that the State should punish but not kill in the name of society. Many interviews with victims' family members revealed they felt little relief from the criminal's execution.
Barbara Graham seems to have not thought through the consequences of her actions. She was drawn to the crime lifestyle and things went too far. I think that when she was committing crimes, she didn’t really think about things from her victim’s perspective. Not really a very complex case.
I found it funny though, when someone told her to take a deep breath, in order to die easier, she replied: "How do you know?" I just thought: "Well said!"
This has got to be the most disgusting comment I've ever seen. Why don't you look up the details of the case? She BRUTALIZED the poor old woman, and furthermore, showed ZERO remorse for doing so. People like you who empathize with such vicious criminals need to be put on a watch list.
He wasn’t saying that steak and eggs are a regular meal in prison. He said it was the regular last meal for death row inmates on their final night if they didn’t request anything else. If justice was guaranteed perfect, then perhaps yes. The U.S. justice system has convicted innocent people, and thus also let the guilty parties free, so I don't agree. It also sends the message that killing is OK.
If that pisses you off then this will enrage you. He also had a kid while in prison. He married… asking his GF to marry him DURING THE TRIAL… right during cross examining the witness, his GF! If I remember correctly her name was Carol Boone. She met Bundy before his arrest. I do believe at some point she decided HE WAS GUILTY and completely cut off communication. His kid would be an adult now. From what I read her and the child lived quiet normal lives. I can’t imagine how the now adult child feels knowing who her Father was. Bundy was truly a sexually depraved psychopath with malignant narcissism. He had the nerve to blame his crimes on porn. What an evil POS. His poor Mother stuck by him. She was a sweat woman. It doesn’t MATTER if the public likes it or not, prisoners have certain rights. Even sexually depraved Serial Killers. That’s what makes a civilized society. As much as some deserve it, the days of the armed enraged townsfolk hanging the alleged criminals is the stuff of the Dark Ages lol.
I used to think that. But as I got older and wiser I think public hangings need to be brought back to deter people from acting on their sick desires. The serial killer Bill Bradford brutally murdered my mother. I wish he would have hanged. But at least cancer got him while incarcerated. I'm glad he suffered.
Death sentence is almost like release. Way bigger punishment would be rot in prison for rest of life and then die there of old age. Or even better, give day to execute, but always move day just before execution and never actually do it.
Exactly! How convenient for them. They are dealt with compassion, asked what they want to eat, given a priest to help them through the process, given access to speak to the media, given access to call anyone they want, given the respect of asking what their words were. While their victims went through absolute horror is the last hours, were treated like dirt, left alone and abandoned. Death is a release. Solitary confinement for life is what they deserve.

When the U.K. had the death penalty, the body of the executed person has a post-mortem examination (to determine that the cause of death was by legal execution) and was then buried in an unmarked grave in the prison cemetery which is within prison property, ie the sentence was forever.
The state took that money from the post mortem operation and partied.

That is so sad.
you forgot to mention that he was shot on live tv,
@@croach2194
Gilmore's whole life was tragic, his grandfather refused to acknowledge him or his mum even though they were living in his house.

I agree-Aileen, early on in her life, seemed very much a true victim and I wonder if she ever felt loved by anyone !
It was because of Ted Bundy that made me want to study the psychology of the minds of serial killers.
Funny how we look at the criminal only as cruel, while we cheer and dance at the murder of them. This whole (US) nation claims to be Christian or Jew. What a joke, because one of the main tenets is forgiveness. I am not a Christian nor Jew. So, I have to laugh at all this never-ending hypocrisy.
He's so fascinating to me ..he has so much charisma and charm you wouldn't believe he did it even if you saw him with your own eyes.
@@TheSamjane4 He argued his own case in court and even the judge was impressed by his intelligence.
Cool Video!!!!!
John Gacy's untimely death?
Yeah, I guess you could say it happened too late.
Gacy was so evil, in October 1994 they were like _duuude_ and set his execution date to the past! 5:48
October 1993....He was executed May 10th 1994. They made an editing error in the video.
Bring back old sparky. If you kill someone in cold blood or are a mass murderer the chair fit punishment.
If justice was guaranteed perfect, then perhaps yes. The U.S. justice system has convicted innocent people, and thus also let the guilty parties free, so I don't agree. It also sends the message that killing is OK.
The orange traitor must sit on it. MAGA = treason.
*I'd like to see a piece done about the last meal their victims were afforded... maybe do a piece about the last 24 hours of their victim's lives?*
What do you think? Would it make you feel better or worse?
Why??
@@Numb217 I think you misread the post. They are asking about the last meal of the victims.
It's so easy to humanize these criminals because they are still alive and the victims are often forgotten.
Autopsies tell you this.
You can see Ted bundys rage, anger, evil intent in his eyes
Ted bundy got off lightly
His mother was a “sweAt woman”?
💦 💦💥💣🤣😂😎
bro laugth at 0:20 when he said lost day on EARTH
Best narrator ever, each country can understand am from Tanzania
how was JWG execution date set on may in october of the same year?
I picked up on that too and scanned the comments :)
Time travel obviously bruh 😂😂.. @Pureblood1982 I did the same too 😂😂
Death sentence is almost like release.
An Oubliette or Gibbeting would be Far Better.
@@jjm8224 What separates the humane from the inhumane? If we treated them the same way they treated their victims, then how are we any different from the monsters?
Bring back medieval dungeons and torture
@@jjm8224 My thoughts on this matter, exactly. "Unlimited acces to a telephone", my ass. The victims could not even dial 911. The insanity must stop. Gloves off!
After some nice woman received Gary Gilmore’s cornea’s, the woman hummed to herself “She’s Got Gary Gilmore’s Eyes”
I just find it so sad that many of them just robbed and/ or killed poor innocent old people that couldn't do anything 😢
