Hey man glad you like it. Been trying to bring a little spice back into the videos. It really started with the Ace Ventura inhale when trying to read Odric Blood Cursed ability. We'll keep doing them for a while until i feel like they arent funny anymore.

I love this series of Savage decks! PJ is at his best when steamrolling people with white.
To make a white cryptolith rite you could have a 1W enchantment that says Tap 2 untapped creatures you control: make a treasure token.
It would keep the white color pie feel, but would take advantage of all the tokens and gets around the not having haste problem
3:53 tbf, 2 opponent build their board with sol ring and you because of chrome mox. Except for creatures wich are recent (considering the point, i don't think that it really matter which creature they ARE). That board isn't caused by anything new, yes i agree that commander is faster these days but in this case i don't think it's really related to it.
Interresting quesion is, what made commander faster? Most would probably say things like arcane signet and jewel lotus, but i would personnaly say that the biggest drive toward this trend is the new abundance of low costed efficient creatures. Games appears faster due to them, removal is used early against them so the first big threat is unanswerd and finish the game.

Yeah thats true fast mana has been around for years. You do raise a good point in that as much as we blame fast and excessive mana production, just the fact that creatures are cheaper and more powerful does make sense. I made an interesting comparison in a video i filmed this evening of me trying to ram a blightsteel colossus through a board of like 20 small creatures. Old commander vs new commander...you can see who wins in a few days, but the comparison was certainly interesting.
It's crazy when you concentrate on the token pumping and protection. It kills everybody on turn 5/6. This list I feel is on your comfort zone but it is not the most broken list.
So the problem is if you focus on blinding speed then you just get blown out by removal, and others will win while you try to rebuild. So trying to get that balance of speed, protection, and disruption right is very difficult.
Yeah! Big fan of Adeline (I play a lot of mono white token decks). I added Grand Abolisher after seeing you use it in another game--great idea. I've been exploring different avenues for the deck as well and currently doing a human tribal theme.

Yes! Best mono white commander. I pumped my deck full of soul sisters and anthems and it is a solid and consistent deck. Wins its fair share of games and always has fun.
It's funny that you mention not playing go-wide decks very much because you favor your voltron builds. Adeline lends herself to going wide and tall at the same time, which is why I enjoy her so much.
I definitely agree that for flavor reasons Icingdeath should tap the creature longer, but for the same reason I think it should be blue. The way white taps down creatures is through Hieromancy, not by freezing them.
Indeed that all makes sense. I dont know enough about DnD lore to know if they got the colors right when porting them to magic.
@@CommanderReplay they most definitely did not. Almost all chromatic dragons should be black or black red by Magic standards, but they couldn't resist lining them up with their scale colors. Not that I blame them, mind you.
@@CommanderReplay Yea, that's a big problem with these universes beyond cards. Sometimes a character just doesn't fit into the mtg colour pie. Like maybe the personality is white but the mechanics of the card are blue
I can tell you how you fix that in mono-white. You do what I did and go all-in on hate bears and stax so that green decks can't play all their etb shenanigans. I played my new Elesh Norn against Mango and she said, "can you please not play Elesh next game. It completely shuts my deck down." I said yes but wanted to say, "yeah, that's the point."
Ya know thats really what my goal was with this deck, and I didnt quite get there.
After 7+games. You finally drew more than 3 lands and able to make a video. Lol

It is possible for W to compete with G/x value decks... if you run 8+ wraths and a bunch of artifact draw engines.
Coming back to this after a year and honestly I’ve ran her a few different ways. But, I ran her like my Haktos build. Being human tribal with tons of anthems

@@CommanderReplay took our 6 month old in Bec she had a fever, they tested her for covid and it came back positive. Like she just had a fever but I'm not a nurse so what do I know? So far so good.
I think this commander has a really big potential but the mana in mono white is an issue, trying to find that balance as you said
Laelia is the fastest, nastiest mono red deck I've ever played. Ritual + Laelia + MLD/Tanglewire and crush people trying to set up. Pyroclasm effects to constantly remove early threats. A few alternative win conditions/equipment and the rest mono red good stuff.
I've never been able to both maul and choke an entire table of goodstuff to death until I made Laelia.
Ahh very cool. Yeah id like to check it out real soon. To do list is always super long, but ill see if i can squeeze it in somewhere. Interesting I hadnt thought about playing it a stax deck but i guess that does make sense.

@@CommanderReplay it does, but Adeline's trigger doesn't rely on her attacking, so you could pop her trigger, then activate dragon throne after blocks are declared. At base you're talking about swinging 6/6 tramplers (since you would need another creature to kick it off) That and Cathar's Crusade just seem silly to me lol

There are about 3 or 4 different paths with her, tokens, soul sisters life gain, voltron, or you can play some nasty land destruction stuff. Test her out, she is a very cool commander.

Adeline really makes me wish white would get some "reverse Garruks Uprising" effects: cards that draw whenever a small creature etbs.
Mentor of the Meek exists, but it’s be nice to have another of that effect
@@TheSkywardAvenger I'd love Mentor if you didn't have to pay for the cards. As it is, Mentor is sadly just not a very good card.
Welcoming Vampire is pretty decent. She only draws you one card per turn, but that's ok for a passive effect, I guess. At 3 mana, it's either that or a "non token" restriction. Slowly, we're getting more draw effects in white.
@@faultier1158 it is decent, yes. But, imo, getting a few decent cards per set is just not enough if white ever wants to catch up to the other colours. White needs absolutely broken cards like all the other colours have gotten over the years. The vampire is very good when you compare it to a lot of other draw effects in white but if you compare it to Rhystic study or Sylvan Library it isn't even close.

Laelia is gross. Relic of Progenitus, Galvanic Relay, plus just the sheer amount of self-exile effects in red make her a problem fast.
