    First job: Worthy of a high-fallutin' "Shack Rescue Program"!
    Thinking positively: lack of ventilation can promote mould (mold?) so open doors and windows in a high moisture area is probably a good call by the owner. 🤔 😁
    Good on ya. Getting it done!

      There was a strong smell of mildew coming out of that cabin -- so I think you're right. That airflow probably saved the place. Shack rescue! haha

    Great work. I’m slowly building my business for clean ups etc. I have a 1 ton dump truck and utility tractor. The mini skid looks more versatile for sure. I’m looking for a winch for my truck currently. Which one do you have? Thanks for the videos and stay safe!

    • @metaspencer
      @metaspencer  6 месяцев назад

      Sounds like an exciting time! I also have used a tractor out there and it's great for lifting heavy stuff, but not all that maneuverable. I have one truck with a front winch (this one, but an older model: amzn.to/4953CHA) that I have mounted on a front hitch. The winch in this video is a Rough Country (this one: amzn.to/496AEqR) and mounted inside the bumper. Either way works for me, honestly ... the dang things just pull, especially once you get some snatch blocks in the mix and mechanical advantage. Just keep doing great work and it'll grow

    • @metaspencer
      @metaspencer  6 месяцев назад

      I'm wondering how high the sides are on your truck? might be too high for a mini skid to get stuff up and in there

    • @metaspencer
      @metaspencer  6 месяцев назад

      there is some kind funky white fungus taking them out over here. I'm forgetting the name of it ... woolly adelgid maybe? Anyway yeah, we're losing some but I'd still say it's a small percentage

    What a strange property. It reminds me of times gone by. Like what I'd imagine the middle class of the 1920s would dream about having as a summer cottage. Or maybe someone got inspired by Dick Proenneke back in the 70s but didn't want to leave the lower 48 states.

    • @metaspencer
      @metaspencer  6 месяцев назад

      Yeah it has kind of haunted me since being there ... something about the combination of the amazing location and all that decay. Around here there aren't too many of those little lake cabins left because they keep getting torn down so new MEGA houses can be built

    • @arbhorrent
      @arbhorrent 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@metaspencerThe old style and way of life eroding away, nearly out of view of the newer modern houses nearby. That seems to be the aesthetic of the whole Finger Lakes region, maybe even the whole Midwest. Regardless, nice work in a tight spot. I know the pain of slipping on slopes of still-frozen leaves and wet clay multiple times in a row lol
