    Hey man, been following your videos for a few months now. Really great content and easy to follow. 3 things!
    1. How has the radium fuel hanger been doing with your fuel pressure now that you have had it in the car for a little while now?
    2. Saw a comment that you might be going with a comp turbo down the line. I live in NY and had heard reviews from people here that they weren't as great quality as people were saying. A lot of people had high hopes for them but after having them in our cars, people were having issues with them. So figured I'd share that info.
    3. I'm your 500th subscriber! haha
    Thanks again for sharing dude! :)

      Mark Cimino the high fuel pressure issue is definitely resolved with the radium fuel pump hanger. Thanks for the info on the Comp turbo! That is a bummer that they aren’t that great. I was actually looking at them when they were first announced a year ago. Glad I went with the MHI 18k then. Thanks for the sub!

      @@mpbiv421 Yeah my tuner had a few of them come through his shop and said a handful of them had different kinds of issues. I decided to go with a 3582 from turbo parts canada (the gt spec). I know a few guys that have had them for a couple years now and haven't had any issues.

    Great Video, very informative. did you retain the stock Return line? about to go through the same process as your just wanted to check i could retain the factory return line or if i needed to upsize the line to assist with dropping fuel pressure.

    • @mpbiv421
      @mpbiv421 Год назад +1

      I was able to keep the stock size return for just the single 450lph pump and get the desired pressure. But I suspect if you decide to run both 450lph pumps you will need a larger return line.

    Hey great vid! I just installed my double pumper with two wally 450's but I only have one hooked up currently because that's what I had in my stock fuel hanger. After I insured everything was hardwired correctly I took the car for a test drive and noticed I was running a bit lean during wot pulls. My fuel pressure at idle was the the same as before (35psi). Do you think I need a tune since the new set up is not utilizing the factory relay? Or should I simply just raise my fuel pressure? Thanks in advance.

    • @mpbiv421
      @mpbiv421 3 года назад

      I would send a datalog to your tuner and see. Pretty much anytime you change a component in the fuel system it is a good idea to double check for changes needed in your tune. You may want to turn up the fuel pressure just a tiny bit to keep it safe in the mean time. As soon as you hook up that other pump, you are definitely going to need a retune.

    Nice vid! What did you drill out the siphon to on the old setup? I haven’t done mine yet but I have a Walbro 450 waiting to go in for my flex fuel setup and my tuner told me to drill it to 5/32”. I hope I don’t have the same over pressure problem (id like to avoid having to shell out $500 for radium setup since I don’t plan on going with anything crazier than a singe 450. Also, did you have to hardwire the pump?

    • @mpbiv421
      @mpbiv421 4 года назад

      I started at 3/32" (which is what I was reading would work on the forums), but eventually went up to 1/8". I also took out the tiny little filter on the return. I could barely get the pressure down to 50psi using my adjustable regulator with that setup, and about 45-45psi with the vac line hooked up.
      5/32" might be just enough to make it work. I guess the only question is whether the factory siphon will still pull fuel from the other side of the tank with an orifice that big.
      Yes I did a pump hardwire previously and you might want to do a pump hardwire for these two reasons: 1) pretty much any pump bigger than say a Walbro 255lph will need more juice than factory wiring can supply and 2) if you do the hardwire you don't have to worry about the factory relay failing which switches the fuel pump from high to low voltage which can cause lean issues with your tune when that relay goes bad.

    Did you have to buy additional wiring kit and fuel lines in order to install this?

  • @CB-je6hu

    It looks like the bucket has more fuel capacity and the crossover suction tube (venturi section) is now powered by the pump discharge. Do you think with this newly designed unit a surge tank is still needed?

    • @mpbiv421
      @mpbiv421 3 года назад

      I don't think that is something I would want to speculate on too much. It's certainly an improvement over the stock design, but I think the only real way to know if it is sufficient is to track test it with an in cabin fuel pressure gauge. For my uses though it has been working great, but I also almost always run a full tank when I autocross.

      Bryan David Cocson I have my old motor on an engine stand, and I will probably do some major internal and head work on that. Unfortunately I feel like the MHI 18k turbo is too small to really benefit from much more head flow or aggressive cams compared to a larger turbo l so I probably won’t swap anything out on my current motor. However Comp Turbo makes a nice bolt on 5858 and 6262 sized turbos which I am debating on the future motor build.
